I hope you are gathering notes to put into a new book "Answering Islam"?
I recommend your "Answering Orthodoxy" as being well-organized and easy to read, while providing a profound foundation for Catholic Faith and Truth-based responses to the confusions in Orthodoxy.

The Malikite Muslim jurisprudence doesn’t allow philosophical debates and discussions on Islam. The Malikites are wide spread in North Africa, and were in Al Andalusia. That might be where it comes from.

Shocking tbh. On one hand it's an attempt to prevent people from knowing the truth by discouraging them from looking outside their little personal boxes, but it's also sad to see someone as influential as this putting his own faith in a bad light by deliberately making more open-minded Muslims look bad just to prove a point.

Don't waste your time on a hypocrite claiming to believe in the Bible but is covered in tattoos. Anyone who truly believes firmly in something doesn't engage in debates over it. How would you look debating a person suffering from psychosis over what's reality? 😂 It would look extremely foolish of you.

  • @redpillscience1288
    @redpillscience1288 4 дня назад

This is why he's right! Because if you know anything about psychology you're wasting you're time arguing or debating with people in error (delusion or false beliefs). It's a waste of time! Delusion is the precursor to almost all non organic mental and emotional illnesses. Islām is human nature and psychology. If the God you believe in is the truth why are you debating other faiths instead of using reality (sciences) to prove his teachings? Instead you have to try to make people believe? That's only because your belief system is make believe and doesn't accord with the universe/reality lol.
Verily, those who disbelieve, it is the same to them whether you (O Muhammad Peace be upon him ) warn them or do not warn them, they will not believe.
    7. Allâh has set a seal on their hearts and on their hearings, (i.e. they are closed from accepting Allâh's Guidance), and on their eyes there is a covering. Theirs will be a great torment.
    8. And of mankind, there are some (hypocrites) who say: "We believe in Allâh and the Last Day" while in fact they believe not.
    9. They (think to) deceive Allâh and those who believe, while they only deceive themselves, and perceive (it) not!
    10. In their hearts is a disease (of doubt and hypocrisy) and Allâh has increased their disease. A painful torment is theirs because they used to tell lies.

The Bible clearly says at 2 Timothy 2:23: “Further, reject foolish and ignorant DEBATES, knowing that they produce fights.” Those involved in debates fail to apply Christ’s most basic teaching-LOVE! (John 13:34,35)

Pretty sure debating in this context is a vague word referring to meaningless fighting. The words prior say this. And why did you cherry pick translations? Most say arguing, speculating etc. Was the same author not following his own rule in Acts 17 (also 18:28)? Are you really saying Christians can *never* debate anything? Even unrelated to religion?

Love that - in your attempt to somehow defend the silly notion to avoid debates altogether as declared by the sheik - you ignored the descriptive words "foolish" and "ignorant" before the word debate when you yourself posted them for all to see. Genuinely funny.

This seems to be less of a matter of Islam as such, and more a matter of any religion which believes that it is the only true religion which must be believed for one's salvation.
Anyone who holds to a religion which believes this (which includes Christianity, of course) will have reason to be cautious about debates, as they inherently will involve people giving convincing arguments for a position which can damn the audience. That doesn't mean we flat out can't do debates, and I'd be inclined to think there are commensurate goods involved with debating that generally justifies it. But this seems to more be a matter of reason which both Christians and Muslims will have to grapple with, not something unique to one religion or the other.

First off, Christianity INVITES scrutiny. St. Paul stated as such. Christianity is basically an open book and dares people to debunk it, and they overall have failed for 2000 years.

    • @susand3668

Christianity specifically tells every follower of Christ to "be ready to give an answer to anyone who asks about the hope that is in you." (1 Peter 3:15) So each of us is encouraged to debate and to learn from debates, to hone our understanding and to find the Truth.
Truth has no fear of Reason.

I made a huge journey into Christianity from atheism. I've lived in Islamic societies, Hindu society and Western countries. I've studied many religions, not equally but it was clear to me that Christianity has historically withstood the most amount of attacks and when looking at things neutrally (as an atheist), it is clear to me that Christianity can literally address every question that an intellectually honest, logical and consistent person brings up.
Even your comment is addressed within Christianity in 1 Peter 3:15. If a Christian's faith is not strong enough to trust there is a response to every question being asked, then the Christian should seriously consider why they are Christian. Once one has the level of faith that can operate with 1 Peter 3:15 comfortably, then it is SO easy, especially today with the internet to find the answer to every question posed to a Christian.
Let me add one other tid bit here, not all forms of Christianity will survive equally under the questioning of a neutral observer. Let that sink in.

@@kwing6017 Praise be to the Holy Spirit! It was a roughhhh conversion at the end. My honesty brought me intellectually close to Christianity, but my stubbornness was nearly my undoing.
It was ultimately humility that caused me to say to God, "God (triune Christian) I know you must exist from an intellectual standpoint. However, if you exist and can hear me, you made my mind the way it is, so can you please give me proof that my mind can accept? If you do, I'll follow you forever". Few weeks later I came close to dying, but had 2 direct healing mystical experiences and a verification mystical experience from a family member (lives half a world away) who saw me in their dream undergoing the strongest of my 2 experiences, when no other human could know what I was experiencing.
For me, who is a "logical" person with no prior mystical experiences, that was UNDENIABLE. So I now walk around 100% sure that there is no question from a logically consistent and honest person that Christianity cannot answer.
