Not only is she proving that the DW made a good decision parting with her but she's also making a fool out of herself because they are not paying attention to her.
I want to put this out there for you guys but I think it’s long past time for there to be disciplinary action to be taken against both Candace owens and her husband and not just for the anti semitism, arrogance and her poor behaviour but also for the both her and her husband’s continued support of Andrew Tate and the way that they both have lied about his actions and gone as far as to publicly defame his victims.
@ReasonandTheology the real problem is who gets to decide what is harmful speech? we see in the uk thought police (for real), and we see anti abortion activists getting arrested for praying, censorship in speaking out against speaking out about a certain prideful people and transrormer ideology. This is a consideration. this is why i like the American style of 1st amendment - that gaves free speech and blocks the government from reducing said free speech, with exception to specific items. In other places, it is inverted, and the government can label anything as hateful disruptive speech. Also, some of these people don't believe what they are saying are lies. as for Candice, she says she is not anti jewish, but anti zionist. i am not sure what definition of Zionism she applies. if to be zionist means you support the jews in having judea as their home land, then i guess i am a zionist, even though i am not a jew. listening to her, i sometimes get varying interpretations- with one being zionism being some supremacist ideology. but, i am not sure what is her real definition. what is truth and what is a lie? in the UK, people are being jailed because of posts they make on fb- some of what they say, there is real evidence for these things, but the uk gov label some of these as hate speech and 'disinformation'. sometimes, there is truth within what appears to be a lie- it is not wholly truthful or wholly a lie.
The Church alone decides what kind of speech is harmful, through their authoritative positions on morals and Natural Law via ecumenical councils and Popes speaking Ex Cathedra. That’s probably the Catholic Church teaching on the subject. Governments have a duty to align themselves with those authoritative teachings.
The UK doesn’t have freedom of speech protected in their laws as they aren’t a constitutional republic like the US is. Also, the examples you’ve given are real and enforced by the secular governments. The secular left gets their values from their self serving point of view, whereas if we follow God’s law and do our best to live up to what he set forth in the Bible and through his Church speech is regulated. But then again so is infant sacrifice which the secular authorities are for. The problem here is that Candace has become what she claimed to fight against. And with her recent conversion to Catholicism she brings all of us down with her. Reason &Theology here puts it very well.

The pope also said misinformation about covid vaccines must be countered and getting the vac was a moral obligation which goes with his views on limiting free speech
The pope had that opinion about the Covid vaccine, but he didn’t publish an encyclical on the Covid vaccine specifically, nor did he speak Ex Cathedral regarding the issue. Therefore Pope Francis was not infallible or teaching authoritatively, and could’ve just been wrong about it. It was merely his opinion that the Covid shot was safe and therefore a moral obligation existed to receive it. At least that’s how I understand it.

It's important for us to understand that we Catholic Americans do not live in a Catholic society, and we often have to be counter-cultural. During my lifetime, the concept of free speech enshrined in the First Amendment has evolved in the Libertarian direction, which does not acknowledge the necessity of limitations to that right. When I was young, it was widely assumed that with rights come the responsibility to use them in accordance with the moral law. This idea has eroded over time (not just concerning free speech, but other rights as well). A case in point is pornography. It was quite restricted when I was young, then came the idea that it could be published if it has "redeeming social value", and now it is practically unrestricted, an incremental evolution _away_ from the Catholic position. The Catholic idea is that liberty is not an absolute, but frees us to do the good, including the common good, which when mentioned typically evokes accusations of communism. In our view, it does not free us to do evil; ordered liberty, i.e., liberty ordered toward the good, is virtuous, but license, which is mostly what we have today, is not.

Yes but I don’t think Candace is speaking as a Catholic when she says things about free speech. Of course it’s not good to say ugly things but when you limit free speech it can cause more issues.
