My complaints with my PB 300 and now my PB 310s (yup, got two) is their lack of detail. Even using a third party EQ, it's difficult to extract the bright high frequency signature of the Extreme series and now found on my new Boombox 3. I think a lot of this is due to the use of the large come tweeters used in the PB series versus the dome tweeters used in the portable lines of BT speakers. But at the end of the day, good sound is in the ear of the beholder, and no one is wrong in what they find appealing. Enjoy my friends as we are living in a pretty amazing time in portable sound! PS, I'm a 60 year old male that has surely abused his hearing over the years, so it's possible I'm chasing the missing frequencies, 12 kHz+ that are now missing from my hearing abilities. 😉
Seems more like they just need to bring back indoor outdoor mode, That treble boost is probably less annoying outside than inside honestly, it is made for on the go that boost definitely helps it cut through wind and noise outside! Outdoor boost treble indoor tame everything. Or just give us better control with the EQ.

What vol. % were these at? Both running off battery or plugged in? Was the Encore running in bass boost off, one or two?

Clearly Encore is the winner. I would crown it as the best Bluetooth speaker of 2022.
depends on situation because when encore is not plug in it doesn't perform to its maximum, + the batteries doesn't last longer but when it comes to sound quality its perfect just needed a better battery
This is the newer version of the jbl pb encore, not the essential. Batteries on this lasts up to 10hrs. I'd go for the encore for this match up.

Encore essential is trash compared to the regular encore, slightly less powerfull double the weaker battery, no AC mode just charging. I am waiting to recieve 2 encores. Do you know if the regular encore does support a AC mode like some other jbl speakers

I'm watching and listening to this video on my JBL Everest Elite 750NC headphones. And what to Say? They Both sound awsome.. I'm getting One of each, cause' its too hard too decide 😄
Naaahh.. I would say the BB3 sound deeper and more exact and powerfull, then the encore. The encore on theese headphones sounds more muddy and less powerfull. Not the clear homonic Quick and not least deep boom punch as the BB3. Another option could be, that my headdy's cant deliever low enough frequence. To me the BB3 sounds better, at least on theese headphones. Thanks for making this video 😊👍
if the battery doesn't matter, the encore is better, it plays more quietly, whatever it is, it's fuller, but that battery is still a pity, I have a bb3 and a 310 myself

Can’t they fix the sound of the boombox3 with a firmware update if I remember right boombox 2 sounded horrid when it first came out

Boombox 3 com certeza tem melhor qualidade de timbre e bateria que não te abandona, mais a encore tmb é uma boa caixa com mais funcionalidades e microfones pra curtir um karaokê com a família, pra um uso mais em casa eu acho ela mais adequada e com um sub grave mais profundo do q a BB3 vou comprar as duas kkk!
So the bb3 has an artificial deep Base some Tricks with dsp and it sounds like it but the encore plays much cleaner and gives more Power to the Sound. Only the battery is a Desaster!!!

@@szabolcsmolnar2542 coz of Passiv Membrane it goes deeper as the Driver really could, that Sounds more boomy and not so powerful like the Encore by using bass Reflex. Enough Info or u need more Engineering Background???

Boombox 3 is IP67 vs IPx4 for the Encore so the Boombox deals with water better.

Wonder if these bottom out, cause my new bb2 definitely does on some heavier tracks on around 40-50hz 70-90% volume, pretty dissapointing performance for a 500€ speaker

@@6mariooo235 only type of a speaker that kinda cannot bottom out is a tweeter, it does not have to be a subwoofer to be able to bottom out. Go search up these LFM bass test kids videos and what you’ll see is a speaker bottoming out.
@@JD-kj4mj yes exactly, but its not only the passive radiators that are the issue, jbl is just overconfident and they boost the bass too much. Not only the passive radiators that do that noise, to me it sounds like the woofers bottom out as well. Never had these issues on my onyx studio 5.

What do you mean by bass power vs low bass exactly? How can you describe them and how they differentiate? My boombox 3 arrives tomorrow and watching this makes me rather pay less for what seems like a better sounding (more to my taste) other speaker. Ive watched other comparisons of same speakers and the partybox sounds better. I think there are a jbl marketing in the comments.
Encore bass is bit stronger but boombox 3 is deeper
Oluv says the Boombox 3 has no chance against the Encore. This means Performance overall and seems legit because of the Open Port.
Oluv also thinks that my opinion is trash and that his is the only one that matters he back fired because i didn't liked his earfun paid collab speaker it ain't bad but not my Favorite
@@techderaudios So for the last 8 days, I have had the Encore (not the essential version) and the boombox 3 at home. Been testing to return one of them, but I can't decide, they are both great in their own right. When paired together, just bluetooth 2 devices they are in sync and sound fantastic - they complement each other IMO. The JBL Boombox 3 when plugged into the wall adapter and connected to a quality Aux cable ( I use the ugreen with the DAC sound chip) to my Samsung z Fold 4 sounds out of this world. It's like a live performance in my living room. The Encore sounds great and with the price compared to the boombox 3 and the fun factor of it (light show is nice, better then the Encore Essential). So they are two bigger sized but still very portable to move around the house and yard, is what I use them for - but they are still very easy to use for other outdoor activities compared to bigger speakers.
Boombox 3 deal with water better, have the handle, maybe better construction, are the tweeters further apart?
Rtings do list even Encore Essential bass coverage as better but I don't know if that's correct. They used deep bass setting?
I think Encore Essential sound was supposed to sound more compressed then again maybe louder SPL? And Encore seem to perform better than Encore Essential.

I have the speaker since yesterday. Probably not worth it but I like it a lot. I like the sound, very good to me, impressive!
@@dr.python thanks! I like the Boombox 3 a lot! Sounds really good to me and will receive updates, I'm not worried. I don't like the partybox, it have to be with a decent stereo sound! (I play from a Samsung device with Dolby Atmos on, makes a difference on the speaker!!)

@@luanaqueiroz1342 Boombox 2 pra Boombox 3 não tem muita diferença não, não alguma que valha tanto a pena a troca. A Encore Essential tem mais graves e o som sem dúvida alguma é mais refinado, tem maior qualidade; os graves dela nem se compara com a Boombox.. No próprio vídeo é perceptível. A mais alta porém é a Boombox, pois muito de sua potência está aplicada em médios e agudos. Em graves a Boombox se sai melhor em ambientes fechados, diferente da Encore Essential, pois como falei tem bastante graves o que a torna boa tanto para ambiente interno quanto externo. A Encore Essential peca somente no quesito bateria. Estou esperando que chegue aqui no Brasil a Encore, pois essa tem o dobro de bateria da Encore Essential e um som ainda melhor. Gostei muito das Encore's pois é como se fosse uma Partybox 100/ 110 em miniatura, porém com graves que impressionam tanto o quanto e com uma baita qualidade de médios e agudos.
