I believed that shaving my dog was the quickest way to address the problem and relieve its suffering. However, I now realize that removing too much of a husky’s coat can have negative long-term effects. Their double coat serves essential functions, helping to regulate body temperature and protect the skin. I regret not considering these aspects more thoroughly before making my decision. Moving forward, I’m committed to learning more about effective and humane ways to handle pest issues and sharing that knowledge with all of you. As a qualified groomer this is the worst grooming I've ever seen. These guys are traumatising the dog making the situation worse. Totally unprofessional in every aspect of this groom. I have groomed many dogs like this one, you can always with kindness and professionalism get to groom the dog without resorting to these methods and without getting bitten.

If it's in a hot environment I would understand the need to shave. I live in Oklahoma and I just hate seeing huskies here it gets unbelievably hot in the summer.
@@lowercase21 From my understanding dogs with double coats have them to regulate* both COLD and Hot. Shaving a double coat really screws them over and should never be done unless extreme circumstances require it.

This is so hard to watch 💔 Huskies are gentle and sweet friends when treated right. Poor dog probly had trauma or neglected caused him to be uncooperative. Hope they seek better options and training before everyone gets hurt 💔😟🙏 I certainly not hope they do this in purpose for views

Underestimate a husky at your own peril. Their bite force per square inch is much higher than many other large dog breeds. They're capable of inflicting serious injury if you do something stupid enough to force a fight out of them. I've rarely heard of huskies behaving aggressively, but any animal that is mistreated in a chronic or extreme fashion can show you a dark side.

It damage the fur growth, also it will bother their ability to regulate body temperature and protect their skin. But what they do is that they shed and need to be brushed more often because of the layers. Its common knowledge🤦🏻♀️

He acted aggressively when they were using the clippers, husky’s don’t get severe matting just an impacted coat which could have been brushed out and blown out. He wasn’t aggressive with the bath or when he was combed.

It’s an Alaskan Malamute folks. (Example) A lot of times it’s easier to shave them because it’s a lot harder holding them down to remove stickers or barbs that eventually embed themselves in the huskies skin after a camping trip gone wrong. Mine is named Kodiak. Only people who have struggled with these dogs coats or certified veterinarians should offer an opinion.
That’s why the breed was originally bred as short to medium-haired. the long hair is a genetic mutation. It gets tangled and it can’t hold up in the snow. The snow clumps up in the long hair and the dogs freeze that’s why you only see them in North America now days because originally rhey’d never have a working malemute with long hair. thats a favoured aesthetic in modern day North American that’s been bred into the bred. The wooly coat is so hard to manage. A standard Malamute coat is pretty easy to tame! I have one, his coat is similar to a husky. Sheds a lot but never mats. Also, their coat should never be shaved because they’re double coded and their top layer is hydrophobic, which means repels water when you damage the hydrophobic guard hairs you completely destroy their coat. They are no longer waterproof or weatherproof and it actually screws up their ability to regulate their temperature and if they overheat or get cold, they can develop hypo or hyperthermia, and it can kill them. Don’t shave your Malamute!
The dog is a wooly husky, has blue eyes. Malamutes don't carry the gene for blue eyes. Siberian Huskies can have the longer fur. The dog could be a mix of both breeds.
This dog should be sent to a veterinarian for a sedated groom. They are stressing the dog out. I am not sure why they shaved the husky. You should not shave them most of the time. Sometimes wooley huskies become severely matted and have to be shaved. The coat can be ruined from not brushing it. If the dog is aggressive for shaving, he is not going to allow dematting either. I recently dematted a grumpy wooly husky and he was not happy being brushed out. I did dematting techniques that were painless, and he still was a jerk, lol.

The dog is only dangerous because of their lack of professionalism and ability to groom dogs properly. They did a TERRIBLE job of 'grooming' this dog, and a terrible way of dealing with its fear and anxiety. Disgusting video, really makes me mad.

I raised both Huskies and Malamutes and no you should never shave them. Absolute last resort.

The dog is only dangerous because of their lack of professionalism and ability to groom dogs properly. They did a TERRIBLE job of 'grooming' this dog, and a terrible way of dealing with its fear and anxiety. Disgusting video, really makes me mad.
