Clay Porter is a master of photography, scenery selection, music score and editing, simply beautifully filmed. And AG, what can be said about Aaron that hasn't been said before, one of the best bike riders in the history of the sport.
He's a really nice guy too. I was at a friends house in Aptos for the weekend and he and Tyler McCall showed up to film Tyler's Deity TMac pedal add. So I acted as Clays camera grip for the weekend, helping set up equipment. I even got to handle his RED camera a couple of times. Always nice, never grumpy. Great guy.
Well-said! And Aaron is very well-spoken and is a great storyteller. He’s narrated this very well, and even in his instructional videos he explains things very clearly.
Man first time riding mammoth I crashed 9 times in 2 days and was so frustrated and was convinced it was a terrible unrideable place. After a few trips and loosening up it is truly one of the most fun places to ride on a bike and you learn to trust the dirt to form traction underneath your tires as you push into it. What an incredible place.
best vid ive ever seen. If anybody is faster than that its by such a small margin it would be hard to duplicate. how his brain is able to process all that information at that speed is insane
Loving this series. We met Aaron up in Big Bear and he was so cool to everyone. I am a big fan! His videos and riding are just as inspiring as his attitude. I hope someone gets half as much joy out of watching my videos as I do his.
Such an inspiring dude! I could never thank legends like Aaron enough for keeping me so hooked on riding all these years. The people and brands who support the riders and get their riding seen deserve big thanks as well.
What an amazing video, he's not only one of the best riders of all time he's such a humble nice dude. I met him a couple times and he's so chill. Definitely such a great model to all the kids 🤘 The edit was amazing 💯
I got to race the very last edition of the original Kamikaze race back in the mid 90's. It's quite an eye opener and surprisingly easy to drift in that pumice.
Awesome video . Brings back memories of racing the kamikaze in the days of Norba . I remember running the course for practice and thinking if I go down from a flat how it would suck as we’d hit 50+ mph on the fast sections just by tucking . The best part of those weekends was riding down this cool single track route that took from one section of the mtn to the base . Yes your right about the cinder soil it’s very interesting almost like riding in big granule sand . We raced both cross country & downhill back then and many would cough up blood from the cinder ash getting in our throats . Either way mammoth was a spectacular race & riding place what a place to see . Thanks for the great video & all the memories of racing the Norba nationals those days were the greatest as an amateur to turning pro .
I don´t miss the big premiers in Hollywood anymore as this is one of the best mtb action movies ever, thanks to be published on the last days of this year that everybody will remenber congratulations!
just a small contribution here: standing on the trail where Aaron Gwin races by: its like you have seen a ghost. silence, stillness, space. He's there and then he's not there. Badass
Thats a great video man you're my idol. Let's see who knows ? In a few years i'd like to get once in my life World Champion in DH 🤙🤘 keep sending it Have a merry christmas.
Mammoth is a mecca. The emergent flow trails and jump lines across North America over the years have become bike park heaven. But the raw and unique terrain at Mammoth is a damn gift to your riding ability and a helluva good time when you embrace it.
Jaw dropping footage. Loved the Mammoth segment seeing AG move around on the bike. I don't normally write lines on RUclips - but felt compelled to do so. Awesome mini-movie.
I've watched a lot of mtb film over the years (including all of Clay Porter's released stuff) but that was undoubtedly the best riding segment I've ever watched. Congratulations to all involved, that was truly special
Nice Vid - Just wondering if you could beat Jeremy Purdy’s time down the Kamikaze on any bike. Maybe they don’t make chainrings big enough anymore, the old boys had balls of steel on those rattle traps.
6:10 it makes me excited and hold my breath, what an awesome photography mixed with the music and the extremely fast and technical riding!!!! My respects!!
One thing I like about Mammoth is the “kitty litter” pumice is very forgiving on my joints and body. I get really sore riding typical bike parks but the moon dust has a very soft feel through the bike and and body. Very unique and remote place in the country!
Gywin riding goes without saying... But Clay that was an epic job on the cinematography and the sound design was on another level 👊 hats off to you sir..
Bro this is so sick I live in mammoth and haven’t ridden this mountain in 6 years but now am getting back on a bike and you said it best it’s like riding on a pow day and kind of makes a unique riding style it’s crazy when I go other places our terrain is definitely like no other I really missed riding and seeing this really hypes me up for the season
Very cool to watch. Yes mammoth is a great place to ride, ski and get away to. I miss going there now that I moved to the Midwest. But hope to bring my Son this next year to see the old stomping grounds where I Tested parts, raced, trained, skied and road for my own self worth. Its a place where if you believe in God, your thankful to his glory. if you don't believe in God. You find it as peaceful as if there is a Heaven in the sky. Aaron Gwin, it seems I knew who he was when he was a kid racing bmx when I was a old man racing mountain bikes. If it is him, that kid had the drive in him to put him where he is now, with twisting a throttle, to racing without a chain on his bicycle. He never seems to give up and I don't believe he knows the word "Quit" when it comes to following a dream we all would love to be in. He makes it real and the cool part about it, he shares it with us and we can pass it on to our kids.
if i didn't see the stuff aaron gwin can do on a bike I would think it was impossible. Those downhill rock gardens were super duper gnarly
It felt like i was watching a movie in the cinema, so good put together!
Ikr

Just thinking about who did the editing. Bloody awesome.
Well-said! And Aaron is very well-spoken and is a great storyteller. He’s narrated this very well, and even in his instructional videos he explains things very clearly.
I want a full hour of him just riding. I’d seriously watch all of it.
too bad my com can't process his speed... no cap my com is currently running at 20 fps running this vid

luke coley Well said!
Best one yet.
Then again it’s what I say after each episode. Absolutely loving this series.
best vid ive ever seen. If anybody is faster than that its by such a small margin it would be hard to duplicate. how his brain is able to process all that information at that speed is insane
best one yet.....you need to have ridden in Mammoth to truly understand how hard it is to ride there. Aaron makes it look sooo easy. Amazing!!
so loose lol
I love Aaron's riding style.. you can always see that motocross background bleeding through in his line choices.. Great video..
Loving this series. We met Aaron up in Big Bear and he was so cool to everyone. I am a big fan! His videos and riding are just as inspiring as his attitude. I hope someone gets half as much joy out of watching my videos as I do his.
I rode with him at our local pump track and his too and he was so nice
It’d be interesting to see how fast the current pros would be on the Kamikaze course using old school bikes.
Such an inspiring dude! I could never thank legends like Aaron enough for keeping me so hooked on riding all these years. The people and brands who support the riders and get their riding seen deserve big thanks as well.

He reminds me of one of a Wreckless Rider :-)
@@biketothetop who?

Awesome. Hats off to you! Do you have any old photos or footage?
@@Noondog We didn't have cell phones back then so I probably only have one of those little photo samples that photographers used to send out.
Big Bird Understandable. Any photo documentation from those eras are gold and rare. Grateful for what footage exists on RUclips. Cheers
Those speeds in the sand, it's crazy!
Mammoth Lakes 2010~Present, Every Summer for me, pay my respects to when the Mountains Start Calling 💪 great clip! Thanks so much for this... 👍
So incredible to watch someone like Gwin ride trails I know. The bike control is just mind blowing.

The best one yet. Its magic to watch.
I don´t miss the big premiers in Hollywood anymore as this is one of the best mtb action movies ever, thanks to be published on the last days of this year that everybody will remenber congratulations!
The shot when the credits start rolling is amazing. That blue and pink sky in the mountains. Gives you all the feels
This is so well made. It's a piece of art. Thank you Clay Porter and Aaron Gwin for creating and sharing.
Service roads scare the death out of me. Traction can be gone in a heartbeat. Awesome video!
You have no idea how much I love this episode! The memories! So many happy times up there. I love Mammoth. Well done! And Merry Christmas!
Epic, beautiful film. Two legends at work and the results are amazing
Clay you Master! Such amazing cinematography - love the story, the environment, the music. Brilliant series.
The weight distribution you have to have in Mammoth is crazy. I love seeing a pro push the limits on some trails I’ve ridden before🤯
Best personal experience from talk with uci DH riders
All the best from Glasgow
Hope to see your win in 2021 in fort william
Steering with the hips is awesome. When he’s sprinting standing up, the bike is rocking but his torso is stable, what fantastic form on the bike.
Its Gwins riding style for me ..🤙🏾🤙🏾
just a small contribution here:
standing on the trail where Aaron Gwin races by: its like you have seen a ghost. silence, stillness, space. He's there and then he's not there.
Badass
Mammoth is so special. Truly unique riding! AG ripping it like it’s nothing. great cinematography as well!
Awesome job Clay and Aaron. Love the building sense of speed through the edit. Masterpiece.
Thats a great video man you're my idol. Let's see who knows ? In a few years i'd like to get once in my life World Champion in DH 🤙🤘 keep sending it
Have a merry christmas.
Another banger video!! Great shots and atmosphere. Go Aaron!
This is a great series! Incredibly well shot, good music, and I get to learn about one of the legends of this sport.
Clay always delivers....mint series.
Mammoth is a mecca. The emergent flow trails and jump lines across North America over the years have become bike park heaven. But the raw and unique terrain at Mammoth is a damn gift to your riding ability and a helluva good time when you embrace it.
This was a journey...thanks for tucking in on the fire road...looks so damn rad when you want the speed so bad!!
These videos are epic, I can’t believe how long it would take to make them because there are so many shots🤩🤙
Just amazing. This was a gift. Thank you.
I can handle rocks, but those off camber turns in that dirt had me puckering.
This got me stoked to ride! not quite as dry here in the UK though....
So well done! Just a wonderful viewing pleasure. Thank you Aaron Gain & Cole Porter, Director. Now I want to experience Mammoth Mountain Biking!
the quality of the shots is through the roof. It feel like super high budget national geo docu
what a pleasure to watch
That was absolutely beautiful. Jealous of your skills AND mountains
Jaw dropping footage. Loved the Mammoth segment seeing AG move around on the bike. I don't normally write lines on RUclips - but felt compelled to do so. Awesome mini-movie.
One of the best edits I’ve ever seen boys. Much respect!!

Unreal how good this is. Both from the riding level and the production level.
Style is everything, this guy riding and the video prod they have a lot.
Such a sick rider! And the video production is excellent too- thank you!
Absolutely incredible.
This is so good! Can't have enough of this series...
That Video is so awesome, thanks for that. I get goosebumps so hard
Beautyfull video, great story and rider, simply amazing
wow the scenes there, so beautiful
Man such a great video. Very nice cinematic look. Loved the shots with the voiceover of Aaron. Sick!!!!!
Love the narration. My friend raced the Kamikaze in ~95, they ran 52T chain ring. Way to slay that mountain. 🏁🏁
Mammoth has a special place in my heart too! So rad and soooo smooth!
Wow, how am I just now seeing this?! So dope!
Mammoth is definitely my
Favorite place as well. Watched you win out there in the summer of 2016 on our honeymoon
Bravo! Unbelievably beautiful edit! Gwin for the win!
Absolutely killing it! 🤙 Thanks for the package overseas last Christmas, man!
I wonder if he will post a full POV of the kamikaze course. That would be mega dope!
Great movie, Aaron Gwin is the king of the hill
When we see Aaron on TREK again, we will see his best form again!
I'm just waiting for that day
Yeah buddy, bring on that world champion 2021
Man, that gnar at the beginning of the run was some gnarly gnar. :-o
This video is a gorgeous work of art.
Great show of finesse and speed👌you definitely can rip✌️cheers
Wow! Incredible film. Stoked for what’s next
Nice Vid - Just wondering if you could beat Jeremy Purdy’s time down the Kamikaze on any bike. Maybe they don’t make chainrings big enough anymore, the old boys had balls of steel on those rattle traps.
Another great video. Next time you ride the Kamikaze access road do it on a bike from the early 90’s haha, one of the craziest things I’ve ever done .
There are no words - thank you is all I have.......
Timeless and right on time! Had my hands sweating by the end of it🤙
6:10 it makes me excited and hold my breath, what an awesome photography mixed with the music and the extremely fast and technical riding!!!! My respects!!
If you had to describe this video and series in one word. That one word would be "ART"
This was absolutely incredible!!!
One thing I like about Mammoth is the “kitty litter” pumice is very forgiving on my joints and body. I get really sore riding typical bike parks but the moon dust has a very soft feel through the bike and and body. Very unique and remote place in the country!
BRAVO!!!! Wonderful production!
Breathtaking! Quite brilliant.....
Okay seriously, 7:37 might be the most beautiful shot I've ever seen in a mountain bike video. Holy hell this production was amazing!
So good I screen-shotted it and added it to my wallpaper folder.
Gywin riding goes without saying... But Clay that was an epic job on the cinematography and the sound design was on another level 👊 hats off to you sir..
Amazing series. Props to everyone involved in making this!

This is probably my favorite . I might be bias because it’s my home town. I liked the flyover of obsidian where I will ride my bike on.
This is crazy!! Thank you for making this!! Merry 🎄
Excellent!!!

The most "majestic piece yet!
Beautiful! Amazing!
