I was at that race, and we had a box...I told everyone that James was going to win after the first couple laps....he was on Fire!!!!!! A Few years later I ran into his Father and I told him that that was the best ride in the history of Supercross in my opinion.
Like Jeff said, James is probably the most talented rider to ever put a leg over a bike. Didn’t win the most championships or anything maybe, but individual race wins, he definitely topped most everyone except for McGrath. He’s the only other rider, besides Carmichael, to go 24-0 in the outdoors. Speed, and talent wise, you just can’t debate him being the greatest. Did he crash some? Sure. Did he throw a race or a title away here, and there? Yeah. But nobody can go up against JS7 on speed and natural talent and beat him. Nobody.

Gosh this race is so old and it still makes my feet sweat. JS7 is by far the GOAT.
When James was on fire like this there was no one to ever ride a dirt bike who was more fun to watch just flow.
Yes
The 30-second board Miss Supercross girl of this era was the best!
It's amazing that you could completely change Stewarts number, gear and bike and you'd still be able to tell who he is just by how he races, wish I got into motocross earlier than I did man.
I can watch this race over & over, incredible race! I miss those Carmichael, Reed & Stewart battles!
The greatest supercross ride of my lifetime
I watch this at least once a year. Such a legendary performance.
THE BADDEST MAN TO EVER DO IT#JS7
Other then McGrath. Oh and Carmichael. Oh and Villipoto. And and Dungey. All who have more SX titles than Stewart.
Pacific Northwest Pyro all who couldn’t touch Stewart when it came to A game vs A game. You’re a fucking idiot 😂😂 you lost all credibility when you mentioned DUNGEY 😂😂🤦🏻♂️ he won his sx title with RV and James MISSING dumbass
@@pacificnorthwestpyro1776 Dungey? Oh please, he won his titles against rookies or people on the verge of retirement, he's not even close although he is quite fast I'll give you that. The only ones who can come close are Carmichael and maybe Villopoto. I never watched McGrath so I can't tell you about him. The titles don't say much when they don't help you beat the fastest man on track.
Pacific Northwest Pyro don’t forget how RC literally said that James was faster than him lol
@@pacificnorthwestpyro1776 Dungey won this shit without big competition... ^^ compare dungey to stew in the years 2011 to 2014
I remember watching this on TV live and screaming at the production crew for not showing James Stewart the whole race. Why did they focus on other riders so much??? So many badass passes missed by the camera men!
I was thinking the same thing watching it here on youtube. Announcers kept saying Stewart is the fastest guy on the track.. He's in 10, he's in 8, he's in 6th. They didn't show him ride until he got up to 4th. Dude was passing the entire field, the fans are cheering so loud you can hear them and no camera. fail. none-the-less we got to see his magic from 4th to first. what a beast of a rider JS7 was. glad I was able to watch him race when he was in his prime.
This is probably my favourite race of all time!
Same here my friend...
The Real Goat is Stewart hands down
this is also the same night Adam Ciancurilo dislocated his arm pulled off the track popped it back in and finished the race
He never actually finished the race he done maybe 2 laps and pulled off. Still an absolute machine none the less to even do that!
I was at that race Stewart was unbelievable the way he was jumping.
You know, I have this race on my dvr, but forgot about AC and his ride in the 250 race!!!!
With that said, I now remember AC and his deeds of derring do, and then Stewart saying, " Hold my Red Bull!"
Stewart in my opinion, is the GOAT. He always leaves it all on the track.
Without a doubt, the fan favorite. Ricky himself said he hated the sport because it was so damn grueling and repetitive when he was at the top. When you're a points leader, you can't take big risks. That makes you boring. But James did.
@@YFZriderdude15 definitely. There’s no other rider I’d rather watch race, or even just ride. Not to mention he’s the absolute fastest to ever do it. When he’s feeling it, he makes all the other professionals look slow.
James is the most skilled of all time.
joseph godbout correct brotha 👌🏻
100%
Cant believe i went to that race! One of the greatest races of all time
I was so lucky to be at this race live. I've watched it so many times on RUclips too. What a legendary race.
Did u realize showing up how legend it really was?
It’s amazing how big of a fan of James I’ve become as a new motorcross fan. Years after his retirement I’ve discovered his rides and it’s so cool to see his talent.
When JS7 moved to Suzuki, we saw a whole new level of beast. Him and the RMZ were a match made in heaven.
it was the gold wheels that did it lol
I said the same thing he really liked that Suzuki
@@ericd.4253 i think the biggest reason was because he finally had a bike that could really handle. and when someone rode on the razors edge like he did, it wasn't horsepower that he needed.
@Sinister Veritas so true, so true
@@maniearias I concur
the james stewart era is the best era
James Stewart is definitely one of the best riders ever
Every one that watches this needs to watch the GoPro vid on James and see him first hand decimate every rider on this track. I remember watching this live it's still exciting James Stewart was so amazing never to be forgotten.
James Who?
@@lmtada James who are you not a fan?
I love how Jeff called out Stew being a potential winner like 6 mins into the race. He knew how fast Stew was moving that night
I don't know how many times I've come back to watch this race..
I've watched this a million times and I still want to watch it again !!! Stewart was a straight up beast !!! I don't remember what was up with Villapoto but I think he was sick or something.
One of my favorite dirt bikes rider in supercross..
Good job bro, God bless and guides you always
This was the best night of my life!
The best in the history
Watching James to help me overcome 2020 SX BOREDOM...Gosh I miss watching James tear it up. 👍👍👍
Man I miss these era. So many top “superstar” guys. I can’t believe it’s already been 10yrs! Where does time go..
Such a sick race, cheers youtube for pluggin this on my feed 😂
So glad I got to see this Live at the SkyDome!! From Adams shoulder pop in moment to what is arguably the best 450 ride ever by Bubba!! Wow!! What A night!! I'll never forget it. 🙏
Tao Lodovico mois Mike
When James is on.... nobody is faster. Jeremy is next when it comes to speed and it is not fair to compare two stroke supercross vs racing four strokes supercross. However this ride is one for the hall of fame rides.
I was at that race, and we had a box...I told everyone that James was going to win after the first couple laps....he was on Fire!!!!!! A Few years later I ran into his Father and I told him that that was the best ride in the history of Supercross in my opinion.
Great ride James.
Nobody.
2020 Stewart is still so awesome, i love watching his style and speed
Why doesn’t he race anymore
I still get goosebumps. Hes my favourite rider of all time. No one matched him, only Ricky in my eyes.
one of the most epic rides of all time
This right here is peak supercross
So insane to see how packed supercross stadiums were. So epic to see! Even before COVID, I feel like we didn't pack out stadiums like this.
Best era of sx. So many greats
Went to San Diego supercross this year 2023…..packed to the gillz
Was there live. BRING BACK TORONTO SX PLEASE. FANS IN CANADA R STARVING FOR AMA RACE
so glad i got to see this live, really wish the monster energy cup would come to toronto still, it was always a highlight of my year. I sat parallel to where the winning pass happened, james stewart one of my favourite riders awesome memory. Im happy to say i got see him win multiple times in toronto.
Me too. I miss taking the TTC to go see some supercross.

I'm relatively new to moto and supercross . started watching races for the first time this summer But i think anyone for the first time watched this race as their first one moto or super cross racing had to be blown away by James Stewart's come back from poor start then to 15th place and second half of race flying by the others racers like they were standing still to win , has to be amazed ! the performance by stewart in this race has to go down in the history of sports as one of the greatest of all time event wins !
This race probably cemented the phrase "it's stewable" when riders gauge what is possible in rhythm sections.
oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo mon dieux
I’ve lost track of how many times I’ve came back to watch 💪🏼💪🏼🔥🔥
You are witnessing a once in a lifetime performance! This is GREATNESS!
Stewart may easily be the most talented guy to race motocross of my generation. Man I miss watching him race. All or nothing.
I remember this race, he was on fire!!! - he is very missed!!!
The very best EVER to do it, PERIOD James BUBBA Stewart !!!!! #7 will always be in the talk of SX MX AMA at all times. Thank you James for the best races in the world to watch over and over and over again. Even Ricky Charmicle says he's the best.
Wooow man! Immagine Tomac + JS7 on the pitch today.... !!! Incredible!! Would be good to see it in real!
He was dacing with the Bike.....forever JS7.
This race will go down in history!!!
I've watched this race probably 5times and it never gets old! I remember being at the Indy SX race in 07' when he came from last place to catch and beat Reed it was awesome although the field wasn't as deep but Damn 😂! The guy was a beast 💪!
I’m way over 100 times .... miss seeing it every year I haven’t watched any super cross since he retired
