  • Friday marked the 6th anniversary of the Uluru Statement - a landmark cry for Voice, Treaty and Truth telling. Architects of the statement returned to Uluru, and delivered a back-to-basics reminder of what the Voice is meant to be about: recognising and listening to Indigenous Australians.
In parliament however, the political divide deepened, and the debate hardened. Peter Dutton is now throwing everything at the No case, arguing an Indigenous Voice would racially divide Australians. Other Liberals echoed the line, but not all. Leading moderate Simon Birmingham refused to defend the comment, and two backbenchers rejected the argument entirely.
David Speers interviews Lidia Thorpe about her final position on the Voice, a racism complaint launched against the Greens, and First Nations sovereignty.
