This is Sasuke vs Tsunade, in the Rewriting Naruto series part 37. In this Naruto Rewrite Episode we continue with Sasuke's confrontation against Tsunade, Shino, Kurotsuchi, Akatsuchi, and Anko. Anko will suffer because of her past with the curse mark, as Sasuke still attempts to get the intel on Itachi.

I love that this rewrite not only has stronger characterisation for main and supporting characters, more intricate and satisfying fights, AND better worldbuilding, but is also just genuinely much funnier than the original series is. Suigestu slapping Kiba around to get gossip on Sasuke is fucking hilarious.

Yeah, but it was literally a 6 on 1. In this timeline, Sasuke is too fast for Tsunade to catch. Even if the fighter has an amazing defense, unless she can CATCH her opponent, she can't win

Watching from Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. We have a big tragedy going on right now, some cities disappeared from the map last week, I saw my house get submerged. I can't put into words how good it is to have some distraction right now. Fortunaly I got refuge in my cousin's house and have energy and clean water, so I can watch this.
I'm just venting out, really glad to have some good entertainment to put my head out of what is going on here...

Since Tsunade isn't in Konoha it will be Sakura who stabilizes Jiraya. I guess he won't be able to fight like Kakashi currently. Considering that the Anbu and probably Danzo as well is much more powerful it will be very chaotic in the leaf.
I wonder how Hinata will react when she learns that Danzo betrayed Konoha and hurt Naruto. Maybe that will be her redemption?
I thought that this powerful Hinata will be the desperate attempt to distract Pain later at first. Remembered "Twin Lion Fist" though and that she can't develop the technique in her restrictions.
(Or she creates it sometime after the "Pain Assault".)

@@blood-reaper We NEED to see this happening on the 5 Kage Summit and/or in Sasuke vs Danzo, especially since Dygo indirectly confirmed he'll left the Curse Mark on Sasuke after his fight against Itachi on the rewrite!
at first i was annoyd at how much you buffed Sasuke, but it actually makes sense for 2 reasons:
1. you really sell to the audience that he has a chance against Itachi
2. If you're not gonna have Kaguya at the end then you have to buff early so that defeating Jubidara makes any sense
I'm not caught up yet, but from what I've seen, while I get that Sasuke should be a menace, I think Dygo overdid it in certain bits, mainly the 1st Shippuden fight with him and Naruto. If Sasuke got a much more noticeable buff from absorbing Orochimaru in this rewrite, him being uber powerful at this point of the story would be fine by me.

But
1. Sasuke isn't meant to have a chance against even a dying Itachi. As Obito said, "he could have killed you at any point if he wanted to". Itachi had to be considerably stronger than Sasuke even on the brink of death so that he could control the fight in order to pretend he is trying to kill his brother and last long enough so that he can exaust Sasuke and make Orochimaru emerge in order to seal him. And him holding back makes it more believable to Sasuke that Itachi wasn't in fact trying to kill him, and maybe was just lying about wanting his eyes and having spared him for that reason.
2. Dygo could remove Kaguya but still have Hagoromo showing up and buffing Naruto and Sasuke. If that's a good idea, that's another story. But I guess if EMS Sasuke was able to gradually adapt to Juubito's level, it won't be so hard to make him be able to contend with Juubidara (EMS + Curse Mark 3?). He would also have to buff Naruto. Maybe the Sage Mode + KCM2 combo is more effective than in canon, where it isn't that much of a buff, its main purpose being giving him access to Senjutsu while in KCM2 so that he could harm Juubito? During the final fight with Sasuke, we see a Kurama avatar clone gathering nature energy and transfering the equivalent of a 10 Tails to Naruto, so maybe in this case we could have Kurama use his own chakra pool to gather nature energy rather than just allowing Naruto to enter his regular SM while also channeling his KCM chakra.
See but now that implies that you're saying Jubidara is more powerful than Kaguya which would be crazy

it's consistent with his personality, but i wish that we also learned *why* he cares about/is attached to sasuke to the degree that he is. i mean, sasuke has made it perfectly clear that his teammates aren't his friends, they're his co-workers

@@SuperPianogirl123 I’m not saying I agree with him I’m just saying in this rewrite the characters are not at the same power level. Sasuke is clearly a lot stronger here so if you go into each video with the mindset that this is very different from the original it’ll make more sense. I think Tsunade should’ve been able to handle him here personally, but I knew that Sasuke would win because that’s just how the series is going so far. I enjoy the videos a lot still.

Bruh this fight was so gas it was so rewarding to see Tsuande really have a prolonged fight and with someone like Hebi Sasuke at that. The strategy and heart you add to fights really make it something special

I love how near the end on the fight you subtly revealed that Tsunade is under Danzo's genjustu using Shisui's eye. Further foreshadowing his abilities.😀
PLEASE DONT STOP, THESE ARE AMAZING. You have a serious talent and love for writing this series. seriously good job
First of all, can we talk about how Shino is the only chance the Leaf-Rock team ever had? Methodical, calculating, precise -no movement not word was out of place, and he made the little surprises all along the narrative feel worthy. Had he not been there, Sasuke would have blitzed them all in no time. So, this is for you, Shino. And if you’re smart enough, you’re going to save Sasuke by giving him a Chakra. There is no other way.
The age reference with Anko was amazing, and overall, her usage gave Sasuke a strong leverage. Having her there made Sasuke stronger by just holding knowledge over her everything. Killing her here, incapacitating get her or even absorbing most of her seal/chakra as a healing option for Sasuke would have worked out amazingly, and that way Sasuke wouldn’t have needed to waste so much of his reserves.
The Rock village were there just to sustain why Sasuke could beat Deidara up in no time. Now it’s just only harder to justify that Deidara can put a fight against him.
Tsunade kept swinging, and got her moments to shine, but that you could find the perfect room to employ her trauma was just perfect. Sasuke, contrary to Madara, can hurt her in more than just body -and you took the chance. I am just disappointed that a Hokage and a Jonin seem to have zero brains in a fight where Shino orchestrated. It was his plan -but moment come, Tsunade made poor planing, decision making, was too irrational… and people wonder why they call her the worse Hokage.
But oh, boy. I have not enough time to fan girl about Sasuke -it felt just right. All of it. His actions, his abilities, and most of all, those last STRONG scenes. Him going through Black Death and the Curse Mark felt so strong, that I was wondering if you would even dare to activate his Magenkyo this early. We know love is involved with it, so in the agony of BD (where he is reliving the LOST of his clan, parents and brother (as a reliable brother)) and then the hallucination of Sakura (his current love and all the pain he inflected her), I just can imagine Sasuke slowly opening the path to his Magenkyo Sharingan. -I even imagined him, piercing the tunnel out of the chamber, with his eyes flickering between the normal and the Magenkyo (more or less like that scene with Sarada), and this would help you as a to both: transform the process into a slow, gradual activation until the final trigger (Itachi’s death) allows him to access the abilities, better display how love could actually influence the Uchihas, and c, give room for amping his performance without giving him the full ability just yet. Like a mid-stage.
But talking about stages, would you create a Third Stage Curse Mark? Like something beyond anything Orochimaru ever thought possible, and something closer to an imperfect Sage Mode (like Jiraya’s, but more animalistic). This could be even for someone else than just Sasuke. 👀
Overall, thank you so much for coming back this fast and keeping this quality. I would mention two things:
The start felt a bit hectic, because all was happening at once, but once you did the cut to the cave, that helped balance it out.
The last one, the thing about Sasuke always knowing everything from Orochimaru is a bit… hard to swallow. Some stuff, great. But sometimes it seems like he has either too many details through this resource, or so I felt it, so I would try to not rely on that that much. I would even find more reasonable that Sasuke has access to these memories directly from Orochimaru’s subconscious. Idk.

I think a way to write why Deidara could give Sasuke a hard time in the rewrite is that; Deidara challenged Itachi to multiple duels, and with each fight he got a better handle on how to fight a strong Uchiha Combatant. And the biggest difference is these guys were fighting to subdue Sasuke, while Deidara will fight to KILL Sasuke.
Yeah, Shino will apparently be the next Hokage. The man got buffed to a crazy degree. Will Dygo do something like that to other of the Konoha 11 to keep them relevant? I hope so. But then again, since this rewrite is "improving" the story according to Dygo's "personal taste", I guess most criticism isn't of much value as he can do whatever he wants bc the goal is that the story is good for him personally, so the Shino favoritism in detriment of the likes of Lee and Neji is less of a problem. The other ones (besides Hinata, Sakura, and Shikamaru) never showed much potential in canon, so there isn't the same pressure to buff them here as well. Maybe Chouji though? It's really easy to buff him, just give him his War Arc feats earlier, and elaborate on his character arc.
I wonder if Anko having her Curse Mark messed with, along with what Sasuke said to her, is some kind of foreshadowing. CM2 Anko? If Dygo is going to keep the part where Orochimaru comes back through her CM (+ Kabuto's flesh), he should do some set up before that. I'm also of the opinion that Anko had potential that was never explored. I hope Dygo does further work/development on her and her relation with Orochimaru.
Don't worry, what will happen if Dygo keeps the canon fight as is (which I think is likely since he loves that fight) is that it will make Deidara scale to SM Jiraiya, full power Orochimaru, or even Pain, which definitely won't be weird. I guess one way of preventing this is nerfing Sasuke now, maybe as a consequence of him overextending himself that much. But at the same time, he did get a rage amp during the fight... A riddle for the ages. But he should be nerfed for his fight against Deidara and Itachi to prevent scaling inconsistencies. I also think that Dygo will make Sasuke keep the Curse Mark after Itachi extracts Orochimaru from him, since he has made a video about why we should have gotten MS Sasuke CM2.
Again, I'm telling you man, a regular Chunin from the Aburame clan will be on par with Tobirama and Minato by the end of the rewrite. He already seems to be at least low Kage level. I guess you could explain that, and that might be Dygo's reasoning here, by arguing that Sasuke managed to get under Tsunade's and Anko's skin to such a degree they became unable to think properly (which is one of the Byakugan's abilities btw, to stare into a person's soul, not of the Sharingan). Tsunade is in fact prone to rage bursts in canon, but having her breaking so easily from Sasuke's words just like she did back in part 1 against Orochimaru does feel like character regression.
I like your suggestion of giving Sasuke the MS early, but I think it would diminish the impact of him awakening the eyes after Itachi's death, or rather after his world turns upside down as he finds out the truth about Itachi. Also, Dygo already buffed Sasuke here with this "Curse Mark Stage 3", to a point that I think he should be nerfed before his fights with Deidara and Itachi. Him awakening the MS here would only make the problem worse. I mean, Dygo could buff Deidara to around Pain's level, but that would feel very weird. And Itachi needs to fight Sasuke while on the brink of death, so making him any stronger will make his death less believable. And Itachi needs to be considerably stronger than Hebi Sasuke even sick so that he can control the fight in order to exaust Sasuke so that Orochimaru can emerge and be sealed. He needs to be holding back even terminally ill because, as Obito said, "he could have killed you at any point if he wanted to".
As I said above, I do think Dygo will make Sasuke keep the Curse Mark, and he already showed us a stage beyond Stage 2 in this episode, even if it was unstable and rage-filled at this point. I think a Stage 3 is very possible to happen when Sasuke gains the MS or the Susano'o, or in the War Arc. Idea: The EMS being more stable than the regular MS could allow Sasuke to achieve full control of the Curse Mark and access a mastered Stage 3 safely, which could be a pseudo-Sage Mode, or an improved version of Jugo's Sage Transformation (Senninka). I personally don't think Sasuke needs to keep his Curse Mark, since it was a curse imposed on him by Orochimaru and it makes sense that curse, as well as Orochimaru himself, is lifted from him by Itachi, and the MS and EMS make more sense for Sasuke's character after that point since they're Uchiha powers coming from inside rather than from a seal placed on him that absorbs nature energy, but if he's keeping the CM, I think there are interesting ideas of how to work with a Stage 3.
I agree that Sasuke having so much insight into Anko, for example, can seem a bit of a stretch, so Dygo maybe should explain that a bit so that we don't have to come up with excuses, like 1) Orochimaru is a weird guy, so I can see him talking to Sasuke about his former pets like Anko and Kimimaro and how none of them were as promissing as Sasuke Uchiha (and also not as handsome and talented and without such wonderful and desirable bodies, I guess... Again, Orochi is weird); and 2) Sasuke does have access to at least some of Orochimaru's memories or Orochimaru can choose to feed him his memories, but that is dangerous as it means accepting a portion of Orochi's "core" chakra, and Sasuke only did that because he was pressed (and disgusted at Tsunade for "letting Jiraiya die") and getting that intel and actually being able to speak with mind games like Orochimaru would give him a tactital advantage against Tsunade and Anko.
I agree I felt like Tsunade should be a much better tactician and battle strategist at the age of 53 and having quite literally fought in a war than Shino who is 16.

Everything in this chapter's rewrite was completly phenomenal! To the acting, to the complexity of the jutsus, to the fight scenes, to the funny moments and specially for the characters!
What I noticed is that you opened room for the females to fight while the boys were the ones who stood back as a support, and it fit so well since this IS Tsunade's fight, so the spotlight needs to be hers. It was like: "give room to the girls, boys!" And I love it!
Maniac Sasuke worked tremendously well with his transformation, something that should have happened in canon as well. The way you made his voice was so powerful and full of emotion that you could feel that even though powerful he was far from being fine. Also adding up with his romance with Sakura since in that critical moment, even if she didn't have anything to do with it, he stills questions his morality and blind actions if she comes into the picture, showing that he does care about her and probably wants to see her again.

I am shitting myself everytime Sasuke is fighting now, because his fighting style while similiar is much more advanced than in the original. Also he's so much more edgy in comparison, love it!

Alright, with such a good Episode I think is time to start the Rewriting Naruto Review
8/10 Chapter
1. The fighting was fire, all the strategy and raw power from the Leaf/Stone team was pretty good.
2. Shino being THE GOAT, not only he is the 2-3 smartest ninja the Leaf has but his insects are sooooo versatile but each of them have strengths and weaknesses that make him balance. But with the strongest insect in the Aburame (Black Death) and a New Discovered Ultimate Insect (Golden Thief Bugs) in his power I wonder how he can top that for the war arc, maybe some chimera bugs like HxH or Giant Bug Summons.
3. Kurosuchi is best girl, not only she's strong and charismatic but also now she has personal reasons to do the things she does. I can totally see her as a future leader and Kage, having a crush on Naruto also gives a few opportunities to make some jokes and a little bit of a love triangle with Naruto and Hinata.
4. Got to admit that at first Sasuke seams way to OP but rewatching the series once more I get the idea was to make him a Super Soldier among Ninjas: with drugs, physical and mental training, the curse mark, sharingan AND Orochimaru absorb. And in the end despite everything he says and thinks he still cares for Naruto and Sakura, is funny in a way where Naruto is the idealistic one and Sasuke is a realist but here we have him, fantasizing about Sakura, dreaming on what could have been. Also his fight with Naruto on Orochi Hideout, he could have killed Team 7 but he wanted to test his abilities with Naruto, the jinchuriki of the Ninetails and his best friend cuz he both respect him and wants to prove to himself that in his mind He made the right decision by joining Orochimaru. (Also Naruto being a Tits man and Sasuke an Ass man is pure Poetry)
5. The only thing that I didn't like about this chapter was Anko, like she has so much potential but here she just uses snakes not as efficient as Sasuke does, I want to know what makes her Unique, maybe sealing or assassination's ninjutsu, poison, fire release, yin release or ninja tool mastery AND for me it's pretty difficult to believe that after 16 years she couldn't master the first stage of the curse mark, sure it would be a temporary boost and Sasuke would have still defeated her by injecting more curse chakra that she can handle, but it would have been cool to see a curse mark user on the side of the Leaf and Anko completed curse pattern. Oh well War Arc ideas.
6. Even the minor character like Jugo, Suigetsu and Akatsuchi are well played, makes wonder what's Suigetsu backstory is and what will happen after Sasuke kills Itachi and eventually Taka is formed. Hope that Kiba get's his shit together and understands that being a ninja is not about chasing girls but fighting for what you believe in and the only way to get strong to accomplish that is to train hard and make sacrifices. I think that on a filler episode we get the perspective of Akamaru and thinks the same way. Character Development.
6. Tsunade was under Koto, nice.
7. Thanks to you Dygo for this series, I'm feeling like when I was in school watching Naruto part One, this is the best series. BELIVE IT!
Also on a side note: Sasuke not using Zabuza's Sword or summoning Manda in this fight was a wasted opportunity imo.

2. Ank didn't master her curse mark. She never trained to do so, probably for fear that it would take over her completely.
3. Summoning somerhing of Manda's size in this closed space wouldn't benefit Sasuke whatsoever. Instead, he was using small snakes throughout.

Clearly one of the best épisode everything was Amazing the fact that Sasuke don't win but don't lose Tsunade development the fact that Danzo clearly manipulate her.
I feel like too many of the conversations around Sasuke in this rewrite keep circling back to power scaling as though that's the only thing that matters here. I do find it a bit insane he can keep up with this many combatants, but I'll keep my mouth shut until I see how he holds up during the Five Kage Summit.
Either way, I think a lot of those discussions use a difference in power scaling to justify a stance that rewrite handles him poorly, and that's doing a disservice to the tremendous character work Dygo has done with him. Sasuke feels like an actual human being in this one, with consistent characterization and attachments. The idea of him being unable to fully drop his attachments and that causing him grief makes him weaker in a sense, and I'm fine with a power buff if it means exposing what seems like a realistic flaw in his facade.
I think, in this case, it is a very rare case where "powerscaling" may have noticed a real problem - because it seems to reveal a kinda unhealthy obsession with Sasuke as a charachter or a want to escalate future events to levels as if not more ridicolous, when many see the later fights as kinda losing some apeal do to it.
Like if he fought against Tsunade alone, guess it would be boring after the Jiraya fight, but at the same time, why did the Jirya fight need to be so one sided? Couldnt it ended with a draw, so when he met Tsunade one could say "hmmm, he had a trouble with a sanin,I dont know..." - but instead it was some 20v1 thing and Sasuke seemed to just get powerups out of nowhere - like couldnt him losing to the death bug caused Orichimaru to start coming out, which derails everything and ends up with the inventible conclusion including Kiba and Yugo and all the other stuff?
I get the charachter and thematic stuff, that is most important, but it kinda gets drowned out by showing how cool and edgy sasuke is.
Another great rewrite my man! Really enjoyed this one a lot! What a great fight scene! It would have been great to see this fully animated in the series. And this is exactly what I wished Shino would be in the show. Creative, unique, calculating, resourceful etc. And Suigetsu was just the best! Your on fire!🔥🔥🔥🔥 Keep it up!

Wow, do people hate Sasuke that much, to the point they want him to loose in every difficult fight he is in. The only fight i scratched my head at was the 5 tail's fight but then i remembered this is a rewrite AND A HELL OF A GOOD ON AT THAT keep up the good work.

If Itachi was an Hokage he would be one of the strongest. Remember a sick Itachi was playing with Sasuke during their fight and Obito said that Itachi was far superior to sasuke even in his dying state meaning that Itachi is a menace in this rewrite guy might even be on the same level as Prime Hiruzen or even prime Tobirama. In this rewrite if Itachi is super strong (supposing) then he spared or was pretending to fight Jiraya and Kisame was testing also which doesn't make sense (that in the original story is not stronger than Itachi but he is a nice counter to Itachi's techniques).
People are talking about how Deidara will be massacred during his fight against Sasuke but what i think it might happen is that either Deidara's skills will be showcased to the highest level in this rewrite and he will show why an Akatsuki member is no joke and can take over or destroy a country easily, or Sasuke will be nerfed before the fight (and probably the next ones after Itachi haha).
This rewrite as a whole has been straight gas. I can't wait to rewatch it all again years from now

I think that the reason Sasuke is on steroids in this rewrite is similar to the reason Boruto is so damn strong in his series and it is because of the cursed seal (no brainer). This rewrite shows that the cursed seal is really an op asset since it boosts all of your stats, imo Orochimaru created the cursed seals to avoid death and he already knew that at some point in time Sasuke would kill him, so what what Sasuke did was just speed up the process, Orochimaru's stats in his prime or dna are blending with Sasuke's making him a very powerful kage level ninja, don't forget Orochimaru was the strongest of the Sannin and if he got the sharingan he would be on a whole another level. I wouldn't doubt if in this rewrite Sasuke somehow managed to get snake sage mode hahaha (but that would be a stretch as he would be too op).
If Sasuke is this strong i wonder how strong Itachi and Madara are in this rewrite.

I forget just how rude and nasty Sasuke's words and actions could be. YIKES! but I wished Tsunade was depicted a bit more levelheaded and wasn't fully reliant on Shino's for tactics in this fight. She came out looking a little bad in that regard, but maybe that is the point before Danzou makes his big play. Display Tsunade's flaws for the audience.
I like how guilty Sasuke is about Jiraiya though. In his manic state he was trying to shift blame onto Tsunade.
That might be my one complaint. Anko and Tsunade are professional shinobi and shouldn't be getting upset by Sasuke's words. Maybe flinch or caught off guard for a second, or if Sasuke pressed in about details about how he killed Jiraya it might be somewhat plausible. Either way it makes them seem weak and to emotional. Which is already a stigma some men have against women and honestly doesn't fit with the characters.
i mean, would sasuke real feel so strongly about maybe accidentally killing jiraiya? i mean, he barely even knew the guy. but then again, he knows what jiraiya means to naruto
