I fell in love with this pistol as a kid of the 60's watching war movies. Still love the timeless beauty of its design. Hope to someday own one. Nice video!
Today I finally got my hands on my portuguese army 1909 order of the P06 (7,65x21mm Parabellum). I disassenbled and reaassembled it using your video as guide. No extra parts left at the end! Thanks, very helpfull video.
I just bought one yesterday. thank you for helping me take it apart for the first time to clean it. By the looks of it, it hasn't been cleaned in a long time. All matching numbers in case you were wondering. Its stamped 1915 D.W.M. not mill - surp but that's ok with me.
Excellent video and highly informative. A very good example of how to teach a potentially complex field strip on a non standard weapon. Thank you for sharing.
A terrific video. Except for one thing. I am an old man, nearly 70 now, and can see quite well still. However, my hearing, like many others around my age leaves something to be desired and when there is loud (to me) background music in these videos, it is extremely difficult to hear your commentary on the subject matter. As I said, a wonderful video, I just cannot hear it well enough to learn from it. I do hope that in future you could make your very good videos without the added background music so they we older gents can hear you, as well as see the video. No disrespect intended here, and I thank you for an other wise terrific video. Matchlock
+k98100 hey, so I was just trying to disassemble my luger and I realized that the last owner seems to of assembled it wrong. the side plate is on wrong, the lip of it on the outside as opposed to the inside, and I think it is preventing me from moving the lever down. any advice would be great.
This is a Godsend, I will save this video to my playlist since I plan to buy a Luger soon this year as a Christmas present to myself if I can find one for a reasonable price of course, now that I've seen how dissemble this weapon the maintenance shouldn't be too bad. Thank you so much !
I purchased a Luger last week. I've wanted one for years, and now I've got it. I shot it once, and thanks to this video I field striped and .... More importantly, put it back together. Don't expect the parts to disassemble/assemble quite so easily initally, mine didn't. Gunk can collect over time and make work more difficult. He obviously had a clean, oiled and generally well maintained Luger.
Craig Kaschan Totally agree! Germans were always the ones with great technical solutions and beautifull design. P08 and fallshirmjäger gravity knife are my favorite military pieces of all time.
Thanks for this! I've owned one for years but it's such a rare model that I haven't fired it in years. My nephew showed me how several years ago but forgot so this is great. One thing: where that peice needs to drop down in before sliding back in all the way; there's a little tiny pin that fell out and it took me a long time to see where it fit back in. It's right there on the top of the slot where it falls in. I'm surprised you didn't mention that. It's only about an inch long with a little L at the end.
I like your choice of music. Puts me in a peaceful mood. Also, I have to complement your gun handling. None of that silly cycling the action three or four times a lot of people seem to do, just open it, LOOK inside, and close. Likewise doing an actual function check after re-assembly.
The second cycle makes sure, that, if you forgot to take out a full mag, the loaded round comes out again. If you only cycle once, you may load the weapon and bang while "dry firing".
robbierobt If you left the magazine in and you cycle it three times, you'll cycle three rounds through the action and still end up hot. It's much better to lock open, take a few seconds to look into the chamber and the magazine well, and then close. I see so many people just cycle the action three or four times really fast without ever LOOKING, and I can't help being annoyed by it.
By the way, you don't need a screwdriver to remove the firing pin. I just press and turn with my thumb. That reduces the risk of scratching anything with the metal screwdriver blade.
Great video with clear picture quality of removal of firing pin etc. Back round music is fine, flows with the action taking place. Thank you to the point educational video AAAA++++
Thank you very much, glad you liked it!! :-D Yeah.. this video was made a long time ago, now i would make it better.. the music is a little too loud ;) Gr Nick
Awesome video bro... For a second there, towards the end, I thought you were gonna dry fire it... I'm thinking "no, not on a 1936!" ... Then ya' didnt... Phew! Thank you for that boss! N e wayz... Thanks man, Great vid! ...
If it is an actual 1936 pattern, the barrel is either shortened or not original. The 1936 pattern had a barrel about twice as long and was used by the artillery personnel only. Yours is standard length.
You are a very dangerous man... another sexy demo. This weapon is so intriguing. Almost a staple of a German officers uniform, yes? This can not be just a hobby for you? You have a military background? Your movements are so confident. ... Well, I think so.. TC... Anna
Haha, i am not dangerous.. i just really like historic items! :) It's an amazing and famous gun.. and allied soldiers really wanted them in WW2! I do not have a military background, i know how to handle the weapons, because i am interested in it for a long time! Thanks for watching Anna!! :) Gr Nick
Thanks! it's very nice to own one! I paid 1000,00 Euro's for it. I thought the gun was something like 800,00 Euro's. But i needed to import it from Germany to the Netherlands. So the total price was 1000,00 euro's! Thats pretty cheap for such an nice gun! Greetings Nick
+k98100 hey bro thx for the nice fielstrip review, i got one question where you get that beat from i very like it, thx in advance , i will subscribe and like :) peace

Really helpful video, sure have learned a lot in maintaining and caring for my own Luger.
Thumbs up to you my friend.
Great little video sir. Worked well and got my P08 apart and back together. Thanks.

Great Video!....If only I could buy a Luger in Melbourne!
Great piece of engineering, thanks for sharing
I had always heard they were ridiculously over engineered and a royal pain in the ass to field strip. Seems easy enough. Thanks!
Sehr gute authentische parabellum. Vielen Dank, Freude zu bekommen.
Danke schön!
Danke fürs zuschauen!! :-)
Gr Nick
The background music was absolutely unnecessary and disturbing.
This was very helpful. Thanks for making this video.
Nice video, thanks. It will help me a lot next month, when my 1917 DWM arrives ...
Thanks! Glad i've been able to help you!
It's a beautiful pistol, have fun with it!

Right to the point. Good video.
Excellent video. A+ 👍👍
Thanks, great video! I will bookmark it in case I can ever afford one of these, lol!
If it is an actual 1936 pattern, the barrel is either shortened or not original.
The 1936 pattern had a barrel about twice as long and was used by the artillery personnel only.
Yours is standard length.
This is not an artillery Luger, this is a normal Luger P08 produced in 1936, all original.
👍
My life would be incomplete if I don't get one of these.
Good and informative, but the background music made me mental.

Great vid - all I needed to know thanks! Volume ought to be higher, otherwise good.
Where you get it,boss, that's di rare and unique
Great video. Definitely could have gone without the music tho. It was distracting.
How much did that beauty set you back?
Anyone who owns a Luger can agree that putting the toggle pin back in is the absolute worst
Great video but can the music
good video, just what I needed. Also your Luger has a lot of pitting on it. How much did you pay for it if you don't mind me asking...
Hey man, great video by the way. Can you please tell me where to find a beautiful P08 Luger like the one you have?
+TheLateBoyScout I bought mine on a online German webshop ;)
+k98100 Oh okay, thanks brother.
Awesome pistol, would love to have one! How much is yours worth?
Thanks!
it's very nice to own one!
I paid 1000,00 Euro's for it.

bloody music!!! why do you tubers have to put music over everything even when they are talking?.
+Paul Woolley Because sometimes only talking make's the video boring..
The music is distracting.
Next time you should play loud hideous music during your video....
Don’t need the music. It’s too loud and messes up the dialog.
