She's doing wonderful Carmen. My heart was pumping up so fast near the end of aria when she was dancing and doing the trill at the same time. Her dark voice sounds so beautiful at the middle and the low. Pleasant resonance and exquisite trill. I love this whole production. I wish I could be there.

She's mesmerizing and spell-binding. I love her acting, dancing, singing and her everything. Such an exciting performance. Brava.
She might not be the best mezzo ever, but her voice is pure, perfectly managed and controlled up and down the octaves. Yet everything sung by her sounds "easy", effortless, fluent.
Her timbre is not the darkest available nor is her voice the most beautiful ever heard but her technique and gusto are outstanding: she reminds me of a mountain brook: not as impressive as Niagara falls but soothing, perfect, spotlessly beautiful.
Here, as Carmen, gone is the vamp and there is the authentic woman
She's the best mezzo coloratura ever, her voice is the most beautiful ever heard. A mezzo needn't be dark. I agree w your praises. Adding that she throws her liquid velvet as an Olympic athlete might the javelin. Her technique is plus que parfait, making hers the freeest voice ever. 😍
She died this Friday the 13th, 2022... my birthday. I mourn the day. 😢

Probablemente la mejor intérprete de Carmen. Y en esta producción la bailaora es Marienma, una de las grandes del flamenco; normalmente esta danza suele ser un horror, flamenco de tablao de cuarta categoría para turistas; aquí es una maravilla junto la voz de la Berganza.

Even though she is stationary here, Berganza proves to be quite the little flamenco dancer. I wonder if she's trained in flamenco and if she danced in her other productions??

Es la grandísima Mariemma, el equivalente de Berganza en la danza, en cuanto a perfección, clacisimo y aristocracia natural.
Mariemma una genia, gran conocedora de todas las danzas españolas. Hay un vídeo de ella haciendo danzas charras y en otro hablando de ballet. Completa y multidisciplinar.

Preciosa Produccion....una duda me asalta....me ha parecido ver que la bailarina flamenca es una mujer conocidiiiisiiimaaa...pero no caigo quién es......una manita?
Es la famosa bailarina especializada en danzas españolas Marienma, toda una institución. Y un lujo tenerla en esa producción. Se esforzaron en no hacer una imitación ridícula, y trataron de hacer la Carmen más "realista" posible.

I think Julia was very hot, in an earthy, gypsy like way. She was natural and animalistic, not a diva doing sexy gestures.

Buena presentación; personalmente prefiero para Carmen voces con una tonalidad mas oscura como María Euwig o Agnes Baltsa.
A mi parecer faltó dinámica en la parte final del baile, debieron verse mas bailarines en escena, pero es cuestión de gustos...

About her dancing: Berganza is a very good singer, but NOT a bailaora. What she is doing is not flamenco, let alone flamenco puro.
+Rosalinda Wijks It isn't utterly necessary. Carmen didn't go to an academy. Teresa had notions to dance and play "castañuelas", enough for this role ;-)
