- Bright, Powerful Citrus with Floral mixed in. Very similar to a clean laundry type of smell. Dries down into a light woods/musk type scent.

ONE CORRECTION WITH RATINGS: Aqua Universalis regular I have never gotten a compliment on. Forte however has gotten me compliments with a TWIST... feminine smelling is often the additional comment.
Cody, I had to come back and watch this review yet again. I TOTALLY AGREE with several solid statements you made: "laundry vibe, the floral note..., etc". You distinguished the 2 frags perfectly and all of us have benefitted from the insight you've given us...

This scent is incredible (on me), the ladies LOVE this on me. Lasts all day on me 8-10 hours. And it shines In the heat too

Thanks for explaining the difference between the original vs. the Forte formulations. I've been rocking the Apom, Lumiere Noire, Absolue Pour Le Soir, and Pour Le Matin for about 3 years now... phenomenal house.
I know the You Tube community really doesn't care for the fragrance fountains, but I just got a very nice letter and surprise from Neiman Marcus . It was a letter from the online representative from Maison Francis Kurrkdjian . A very nice letter from Dean Farris . He is the head rep for MFK. He said if i ever need help or if I have any questions in regards to MFK , to get in touch with him online. NM and MFK also sent some free samples too. NM is a privately held company. So I am not writing this in anyway shape or form to push any company. I just thought that this was very nice. I love this parfum . Forty is a wonderful fragrance . That's the main reason I wrote this, your review. So if you need any help, I guess you can feel free to get in touch with Dean Farris. Happy Easter and thank you for helping those of us who need help in understanding the complexities and fun in fragrances .

BG 22 is my favorite summer scent. So that. However I would mention that if AUF is too feminine.. try the non forte version. I actually am finding I like that one better. The downside to AU original is that it does not last as long as the Forte version.
FANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNTASTIC REVIEW CODY! I've never gotten my nose on anything from this House, but I can't help but think of Bergamot Extrait by Roja Dove as you describe it........ I've recently been looking into this house...... Total respect for you as a reviewer- $249 for a casual-type scent?!?! Nice Cody👍. Just one small point: Maison means "house" in French and it's pronounced "Maize on" (phonetically)!- long "A" & "N" is silent.. Cheers bro...!

i saw your post on FB and yes rubbing generates heat which causes top notes to evaporate faster and thats exactly what i mean by destroying the molecules (I have an undergrad in chemistry), but thanks for posting the article on FB, you are furthering Al's efforts in educating people. You don't destroy molecules by rubbing it in, this has been beaten to death. Yes, you arrive at the "heart of the fragrance" typically faster if you do. However, the fragrance is linear. Essentially he got to what the fragrance smells like for 95% of the time its on your skin.
I'm giving this scent an" A " for my opinion it's amazing when it drys down I had a crazy compliment

I see! AUF is great! Really great. Good projection, very good longevity, but...way too feminine, in my opinion. I simply don´t see myself wearing it too many times. As for Lumiére, I find it quite good, although not the most masculine scent. I got 15+hours on my skin (something very unusual on me).

Try the Forte version, the cologne version is def not feminine.. but the Forte version brings out the florals hardcore.
Interesting.. I think Pour Le Soir is the only one I have not tried. I completely agree with you on Pour Le Matin.. nice but not worth the price. Lumiere Noire I did not like at all. ATOM was meh to me as well

Yah, I think Armani made the right choice though, ADG I think fits better than the cologne version of this does.
I really like the Matins from this line, though they may skew toward the feminine due to sweetness. The regular Aqua Universalis -I don't care for this one.
I know some people would call like Prada Amber is feminine...different kinda scent but you get the picture...some people would say its manly while others would beg to differ.

Females at the gym walk by real close just to get a whiff... guys don't dislike it as long as you don't put too much on, so easy does it - less is more at the gym.
Can you review the non Forte version? Much less feminine and easy to wear.

I got this as a gift from my Mom for Christmas last year. Initially I wasn't sure if it was for me
but I've grown to love it. Every time I use it I get a compliment. Women love it and they say I smell great. No lie.

Greg B absolutely destroyed the molecules in the opening and went straight to the middle floral notes. Al please pay Dracdoc's office a visit and school them about not rubbing it in.

The house of Maison Francis Kurkdjian actually left me underwhelm. I've tried ATOM, Absolue Pour le Matin, Absolue Pour le Soir and Lumiere Noire
ATOM is Gaultier2 - also by Francis Kurkdjian - with a heavy dose of orange blossom
Lumiere Noire is another supposed to be rose but no rose detected fragrance
Absolue Pour le Matin is a more natural Infusion d'Iris by Prada. Nice but not justified the price they ask for
Absolue Pour le Soir is the nicest of the bunch but still doesn't stand out
