- Malcolm Dome, the legendary rock journalist who worked on Kerrang, Metal Hammer, Classic Rock, Raw, Mega Metal Kerrang and almost every part of the metal world, has very sadly left us. In this video, I share some of my very fond memories of the great man who coined the term thrash metal, and who I used to work with on Kerrang! magazine.

I would love to hear your favourite memories of Malcolm Dome, as a writer and/or a person. Here's the place for them!
Can’t believe it’s been a 😢year.
I know, crazy. :(
The loss of Malcolm is a massive loss to rock, metal and journalism. I never knew Malcolm personally but read his articles in magazines and saw him at gigs (sometimes with you!) through the years. His writing and knowledge of music was outstanding. I am sorry for you for the loss of your friend. 66 is so young, but what better way to spend those years than immersed in music, people and culture that you love and live for. RIP Malcolm.
Lovely thoughts, Paul. Thank you!
RIP Malcolm another good DW man gone 🪦
Not long now to we get season 17 Jason
Great tribute Jason🤘I grew up knowing Malcolm’s name as it seemed to hold the same prestige, mystery and fascination as the music he was reviewing, and the genre I was quickly growing into. I saw him at Bloodstock Open Air in 2018 while having a drink in the Serpent’s Lair, and I actually got a little star struck🤩I said hello and we briefly chatted, I just wish now that I had spent a little longer with him over a drink or 2! RIP Malcolm and thanks for the memories and recommendations that set me on the path of my Extreme Metal journey🤘💔
Thank you for these lovely words and memories, Andy!
This was a beautiful tribute, Jason. Thanks for sharing it with all of us.
