- Welcome to Episode 1 from my #UnseenArunachal series. In this episode, I am taking you all to BASAR - a remote town in Eastern Arunachal. Countless hidden and beautiful villages are a part of Basar which falls in Lepa Rada district in Arunachal Pradesh. This entire town is home to 'Galo Tribes' There are 26 tribes and 100+ sub-tribes in Arunachal which is also said to the largest among the Seven Sister States on NorthEast India. It's almost impossible to reach Basar without the help of a guide, genuine thanks to the remoteness of this place. This beautiful part of Arunachal is so untouched and I wish it remains untouched, far from the crowd that goes to a place just to litter :)

Basar is pronounced as Baasaar.. I have served in west siang district for thirty seven years and Basar was a part of it upto last year.. People here are very friendly and hospitable..

I love NE culture and food so I look out for preparation techniques of food on you tube especially of travelers exploring NE at the base level ...and you could hv done justice to it if u would hv covered few aspects :
1. Travel route to this place from Delhi by bus, air, train
2. RECIPES were Missing . I look forward to seeing the simple chicken , dal , chutney , beer recipes .
3. Name of the homestay and contact details so we too can visit .

My one elder brother Atul Chandra Hazarika did teacher in Basar long time ago ...may be 35 years ago ..now he departed from Earth! I remember him and Basar people ...very sad but lovely memory!

Simply a wonderful place it is. One more Heavenly sight enveloped in serenity is the point near Ecopark. The dark nights and pristine sunny greens can be enjoyed from Hotel Tumsi near BASAR from Silapathar.

Govt of AP doesn’t promote tourism much so locals are not aware and accustomed to tourists there. Being an arunachalee I can get how difficult it would have been for u @desigirl.
