History says that this Galo tribe belongs to Noro (Garo)people who lastly came to Assam from Thailand and settle down in the eastern side of Arunachal Pradesh bordering to China .Therefore Noro, Galo people are exactly similar to Karen people of Thailand. According to history the Noro (Garo) people belongs to the Noro country now in Burma(Myanmar) .In those days, the one Noro famous king was called SIRAMPA ,who was said to be one of the famous forefather of Garo people. In those days, one brother of SIRAMPA who was at that time the king of Maulung (Northern burma) was Sukapa the Ahom, also said to be one of forefather of Garo people. In the days of Ramayana, the Garo hill was called Garudachal or Gara Saila, because it was the abode of the Big Bird "Garuda" who saved Ram,Lakan from serpent while they were in battle with Raban the king. According to Garo mythology it was mentioned this Big Bird as" Do'reng Noktop gita ko goana, kilding Jakbogita gita ko te'tana"
Galo and garo are two different tribe, galo is from Arunachal (its is also known as tani tribe which is spread mostly in the central arunachal ) while garo is from Meghalaya dont mix them up. They are more related to Tibetan related rather then burmese.
