Our local field has been talking about finding something small for small pylon racing. I think the Mighty Minis are the way to go. Inexpensive to build and repair. and they look like they take a beating too. Thanks for being awesome!!
Great episode FT Team. Josh Scott flies very well now. Great to see. Nice to see both Bixler and Scott together. Really like the idea of mini's. Had no idea how long it took you guys to R & D miniaturizing the FT Line-u. Really glad I found you guys. Flite Test has really helped the hobby move forward. Thanks - Looking forward to the build video.
Ft comes Out with cooler and better things more and more. another perfect episode! Thanks so much for entertaining us and providing us with amazing models.
I like how Josh scott stopped doing what he used to do before "playing all dump" as he called it hahahaha, now he is more natural, and the learning curve started to appear as he really flew this plane really good Josh Scott, god bless you... Also peter, wow peter is an amazing add to FT, i think if you gave peter an open budget, he might build a plane out of foam and tape that can carry a person lol
I love the new design! Very vintage look! Definitely considering building these. But as a another suggested, Id like to see a mini Autogyro, or just another autogyro design with a more 3D fuselage! Keep up the great work gentlemen!
Already got one of each on the way. After seeing how easy the Champ is to fly and seeing my dad and my girlfriend have great success with one of those as a first plane (and how much irresponsible fun I can have flying it) I can't wait to get my hands on something even cheaper to keep in the air and just as durable. Great work as always, guys.
SPL That's the point of distributors. They are aware that it's expensive to ship across the border and it's because of forces that they cannot control, so they use Great Hobbies to ship to Canadian buyers and keep the price down.
i am new in the hobby and cost is just killer i cant afford the models at hobby stores i think this might be the answer i was looking for thanks guys and keep it up! :D
Thank you gents so. Very. Much. I've never flown so much as when I had my micro Citabria. So much less involved to get flying here in a City. I simply can't wait to get one of these in the air! Yea minis. And more please!
I cant get the foam board here in New Zealand sadly.. but i went ahead and ordered a speed build kit, the shipping was more than the planes, so i hope they are worth it! hopefully you guys will have affordable shipping in the near future! thanks FT
I started off with a hobbyzone duet which I adored and still fly. I thought I'd upgrade to a bigger plane (A bit too big as it seems) which was a trainer. I wasn't use to flying so high up so I got a bit too low with the ground and my wing clipped it. I have yet to fix it but I feel so much more confident with minis. I have yet to make and try one of these :D
I would like to see a video of using an Aircore powercore in these. Possibly a tutorial or just an article... It would be greatly appreciated. Love the video!
Hey flitetest I have a challenge idea: get an rc car to tow a small landing strip (a plank of wood?) then choose your favourite aircraft and attempt at landing on the "aircraft carrier". Thanks guys you really inspired me to start flying rc aircraft and now I have a hobby for life Alessandro
I think I will try to build this one. It will be my first non-RTF plane. I had another plane a few years ago but I broke the tail off. If I like this I think I might move onto the spitfire
The mini's are amazing great job guys. Secondly Whats the part list for the mini FPV setup that looks amazing! Something I could finally put on my small planes!!!! Can't wait to see what you guys do next.
Straight thrust angle is likely why the cub s V2 banks slightly with motor speed. We’ll need to fix that going brushless. How do you calculate how much angle to use?
Like the little ones. They're about the size I could fly around the apartment... And a circuit diagram for that FPV module, please! That's insanely tiny! (I could see doing some small handmade circuit boards with servos attached for a project, It'd be handy!)
What I want to know is how much noseweight you had to put on the plane to be able to balance the cam in that extreme behind the rudder position... I think you said it was a GoPro?
I am building the mini scout to specs now. I wonder if I make those wings both an inch or two longer, if I can slow that one down a tad. Looking for an ultra slow trainer.
Is there going to be a video or plans on how to make peters mini fpv camera? Looks like its a cheap build that would be great as an intro setup for us newbies wanting to get into fpv with out breaking the bank
Hello guys, I really want to know where you get this mini fpv system?!?I realy want something like this. Can you give me name of website for this minis fpv?
When I click "add to cart" on the Mini Scout i get "Please choose an option for Add another Mighty Mini - Save $5!.". I can only get it to the cart if I add a second plane
Do a review on the electric super sportster I fly it and i thinks it's awesome that you try also try to gets your hands on a carbon z splendor and or sequence
The mini scout would be the perfect size for my little park BUT I read that it is a 3 channel- I want a 4 channel - is there a kit for a 4 channel - I noticed the parts list has 4 servos - is that so you can mod the plane into a 4 channel? some details - please -
FliteTest I wouldnt even know how to put one of these together do you have any plug and plays you might consider coming out with? Or maybe at lest a list of what id need i really want one of the FT guinie pigs really liked how it flew. im sorta new to the rc planes ive had them before but the super cheep ones, i had one that i got from walmart along time ago that was a weather jet which only had vector thrust. lol needless to say it didn't last long due to no real control. If you have anything on your site that would help me that would be great. Thanks!
Michael Taboada Well honestly i really don't know that much about them, ive only owned a few which were cheap by any standard and over priced at the time.. that why i quit the hobby because those ones there were ready to fly were junk and vector thrust only or you could only fly with a rudder. I had asked a hobbyist if it was better to get computer sim first and he said that was highly recommended if i wanted to learn to fly and get skilled with out losing the real thing right off. but i figured that would be the better choice just trying to find a pc set is hard enough and honestly i have no idea where to look.
The mini fpv video comments are disabled so I figured it would be most relevant to ask in the video they introduce the system in. Do you think there is a way I can install it on my nano qx? If not is there anyway that I can convert it to fpv? Thanks.
Hello Fabio The full size speedster has a wing that is slightly longer on the left side that counters the p-factor of the motor. The minis use right thrust to do the same thing. :)
i remember watching the video a while back where david and josh and josh flew krakens and had a pen and a paintball gun on theirs, and dueled, when can we see another vid like that?
Yes. Plans will be posted with the build video on Wednesday. You can already find a list of recommended electronics in the store. store.flitetest.com/ft-mini-scout-speed-build-kit/
Our local field has been talking about finding something small for small pylon racing. I think the Mighty Minis are the way to go. Inexpensive to build and repair. and they look like they take a beating too.
Thanks for being awesome!!
Yes finally a small plane. Hope you do more.
Henk Hatzmann They mention a few more in the podcast. So yes, there's going to be more. :)
I'm hoping for a small delta.
hopefully I really enjoy this small planes. You can fly them everywhere!!!!!!!!
Great episode FT Team. Josh Scott flies very well now. Great to see. Nice to see both Bixler and Scott together.

Looking forward to the build video.
Ft comes
Out with cooler and better things more and more. another perfect episode! Thanks so much for entertaining us and providing us with amazing models.
Did peter say he was going to avoid limbs with his "potato like reflexes" lol
I like how Josh scott stopped doing what he used to do before "playing all dump" as he called it hahahaha, now he is more natural, and the learning curve started to appear as he really flew this plane really good
Josh Scott, god bless you...
Also peter, wow peter is an amazing add to FT, i think if you gave peter an open budget, he might build a plane out of foam and tape that can carry a person lol
Ab hjz Wow, you predicted the future because he actually did it.
I love the new design! Very vintage look! Definitely considering building these. But as a another suggested, Id like to see a mini Autogyro, or just another autogyro design with a more 3D fuselage!
Keep up the great work gentlemen!
ts nice to see Josh Scott flying and the progress he has made
Thank you for those awesome minis! I think, i will build one for my first plane.
You guys should do this with the Fowl Flyer! I think a lot of us will enjoy this!
Shipping to Canada is still higher than the cost of the kits and I live just an hour drive from the boarder!
great hobbies is the canadian distributor, Ive bought them in store and I know they ship
Thank you, I know about GB.
I was just pointing out that shipping from FT HQ is still more than the cost of kits.
SPL That's the point of distributors. They are aware that it's expensive to ship across the border and it's because of forces that they cannot control, so they use Great Hobbies to ship to Canadian buyers and keep the price down.
I think it was $45 if I wanted to ship it to Australia :(
The minis are "red dotted" at great hobbies! Meaning out of stock or something. Need these up north guys!!!! Keep up the good work.
i am new in the hobby and cost is just killer i cant afford the models at hobby stores i think this might be the answer i was looking for thanks guys and keep it up! :D
Thank you gents so. Very. Much. I've never flown so much as when I had my micro Citabria. So much less involved to get flying here in a City. I simply can't wait to get one of these in the air! Yea minis. And more please!
I've been waiting for something like these forever!
Great job guys. Good to see Josh S has toned down the "smarmy noob" routine.
I cant get the foam board here in New Zealand sadly.. but i went ahead and ordered a speed build kit, the shipping was more than the planes, so i hope they are worth it! hopefully you guys will have affordable shipping in the near future! thanks FT
You guys are great , having fun is what its all about...with a bit of science You give me a good laugh...keep them coming...............
It’s amazing how far the micro FPV setups have come in only 5 years!
what do you use now for micro FPV setups?
Cute little burgers.. lol. Bloopers at the end show my favorite. Well besides listening to bixler laugh.lol.
that backyard is huge!
Could you guys post some more info on that tiny FPV system? it's beautiful, and looks like it might be really affordable.
google for BOSCAM CM205......for another option
search for TS5823. Get the PCB only.
thanks mate
Fuselage of the scout looks very SE5a like. Really cool stuff.
Love it. Time to pick up some cheap hobby king controllers and get my friends hooked on foam.
Did you ever make one?
Sou brasileiro e agradeço muito pela existência do canal... já preparei 3 modelos que foram ensinado aqui e já sou inscrito e FÃ.
Josh Scott is a good pilot now!
Hi Hi
Can you please poste a Video on the FPV Set up, used on these Planes?
THX!
have i told you lately that i love you guys
Awesome planes guys keep up the good work!
I would like to see a video of using an Aircore powercore in these. Possibly a tutorial or just an article... It would be greatly appreciated. Love the video!
Once winter comes you guys should do a video on skis and ski flying
I love everything about the mini planes. I hope to order a few
Hey flitetest
I have a challenge idea: get an rc car to tow a small landing strip (a plank of wood?) then choose your favourite aircraft and attempt at landing on the "aircraft carrier".
Thanks guys you really inspired me to start flying rc aircraft and now I have a hobby for life
Alessandro
The mini FPV is cool! Can you post a parts list/Schematic/Vid? Also the mini's are awesome!
that profile jet behind Bixler looks cool
Im pretty sure thats the MessaRC Jet. Its on flite test somewhere
GrizzlyWhale It is similar to the FT-22. Check it out
ive built an FT-22, this looks like an F-15
I think I will try to build this one. It will be my first non-RTF plane. I had another plane a few years ago but I broke the tail off.
If I like this I think I might move onto the spitfire
The mini's are amazing great job guys. Secondly Whats the part list for the mini FPV setup that looks amazing! Something I could finally put on my small planes!!!! Can't wait to see what you guys do next.
You should try Jousting by putting lances on the wings and a small pilot in the cockpit.
Look at a youtuber called squireflyer. That is essentially what his banner is!
Straight thrust angle is likely why the cub s V2 banks slightly with motor speed. We’ll need to fix that going brushless. How do you calculate how much angle to use?
Very cool video! Cute little planes lol
Like the little ones. They're about the size I could fly around the apartment...
And a circuit diagram for that FPV module, please! That's insanely tiny! (I could see doing some small handmade circuit boards with servos attached for a project, It'd be handy!)
Can you guys please try to make a solar powered glider... It would be so cool!
PLEASE do the P-51 and Cruzer next!!!!
Mini FT Cruiser would be a neat idea.
What I want to know is how much noseweight you had to put on the plane to be able to balance the cam in that extreme behind the rudder position... I think you said it was a GoPro?
so there are no plans available for this plane?!
Certainly is just good ft mini scout plans its under the build article.
Yea would it be possible to post a video about the fpv system? It's perfect to put on smaller models and is very compact.
Thanks
Kian Tabrizi I think it'll not be the last time we saw that system.
Hoping to see a Mighty Mini FT Cruiser!
Hello guys, I really want to know where you get this mini fpv system?!?I realy want something like this. Can you give me name of website for this minis fpv?
Can you guys make an all new air racer that has twin motors, and the motors from the helicarrier?
When I click "add to cart" on the Mini Scout i get "Please choose an option for Add another Mighty Mini - Save $5!.". I can only get it to the cart if I add a second plane
What's the difference between printing the tiled A and tiled B plans for the scout? What printer settings should I use?
a mini ft-22 raptor and ft viggen would be two awesome planes to build in the mini series!!
flew a mini ft-22. Flew good, but making some changes. :)
awesome ! any idea when that will be ready?
How about a $50 4 channel airplane build without radio?
Could You make a video about that mini fpv system? It would be great for evryone for a start with fpv.
Got a FliteTest store ad before the video started.
Do a review on the electric super sportster I fly it and i thinks it's awesome that you try also try to gets your hands on a carbon z splendor and or sequence
built one but used a blue wonder 3000 kv stock airframe on 2s probably went 50-60 mph!
The mini scout would be the perfect size for my little park BUT
I read that it is a 3 channel-
I want a 4 channel -
is there a kit for a 4 channel -
I noticed the parts list has 4 servos -
is that so you can mod the plane into a 4 channel?
some details - please -
2:12 : The RC plane going into puberty and turning into a gasser
+FliteTest would these make good indoor trainers for someone who has little to no experience flying planes?
Am I only one that wants mini a spitfire also just bought a mini scout and some other stuff keep up the good work
one of my favorite vids a true classic
Can you make a mini ft. viggen ?
Also, will there be free plans for the micro panes ?
Thanks
Yep, free plans will release tomorrow with the build video.
Awesome
This what I really, really want. No indoor places around me, even though the just put in one of those baseball bubbles.
how did you guys mount the go pro on the back. did you have to make any adjustments to cg
Nice minis guys.
How come the full kits with all electronics are never available?
Do these come with motors prebuilt in them or do you have to buy them seperatly?
FliteTest I wouldnt even know how to put one of these together do you have any plug and plays you might consider coming out with? Or maybe at lest a list of what id need i really want one of the FT guinie pigs really liked how it flew. im sorta new to the rc planes ive had them before but the super cheep ones, i had one that i got from walmart along time ago that was a weather jet which only had vector thrust. lol needless to say it didn't last long due to no real control. Can you also make a mini ft versa FliteTest
What i think we really need is a mini spitfire / racer (or both) for mini pylon racing. :D
Will it be cheaper to ship as they use less material?
Is there an article on Peters mini fpv rig?
here's a suggestion-for people who have trouble building kits, you should have RTfs.
I love little RC planes... Especially jets! Please consider designing and selling a 30mm or smaller EDF jet!
THAT!!! Must be possible to build with Depron, right?
PS: Under 300-something club!
will there going to be a mini duster also
How much does it cost for the whole set up including the transmitter
Can someone explain to me what does josh is talking about on minute 8:40 ?
Hello Fabio
The full size speedster has a wing that is slightly longer on the left side that counters the p-factor of the motor. The minis use right thrust to do the same thing. :)
when does the cheap shipping start?
Hey I love you guys sooo much, I live in Ohio too and I've watched almost every one of your vids and I hope you keep making more 😋
2:32 Hero 4?
Nice dive, Peter :D
nice series!
an screch build DLG would be awsome :D
You should do a biplane kit
What kind of 3 channel transmitter do you guys use?
What are the details of the fpv setup can and monitor
i remember watching the video a while back where david and josh and josh flew krakens and had a pen and a paintball gun on theirs, and dueled, when can we see another vid like that?

Yes. Plans will be posted with the build video on Wednesday. You can already find a list of recommended electronics in the store. store.flitetest.com/ft-mini-scout-speed-build-kit/
