      I want to see a Challenge for Objects that people use in their life everyday, but remixed with colors/skins they would actually use. For example imagine a Limited Edition of a Garlic Press or Headset. Like if you could change the aesthetic of an object around the house, what would you do. Have you ever seen like the Peugeot Pepper Grinders.

    So I came to this video through algorithms but had to click because I had been working on trying to make a scale model of my boyfriends motorcycle as a birthday gift, one from scratch out of various materials, and I've been in a rut for a good bit because like you said in the beginning the details make you feel so overwhelmed. Not a 3D model but I was sure I could find something here that'll make it click in my brain because I think it's gonna be relatable, see y'all in almost 4 hours.
    Excited to learn about modeling along the way!

      It's worth knowing that the jump from modelling to photorealism is TINY. Certain shapes in 3d are definitely a pain, and I still have to google tutorials on certain ways to do things, but once you can make a basic model, you can immediately make that photoreal.
      I highly recommend a substance painter workflow, so model in your program of choice (really doesn't matter, my fav is maya) chuck it in substance painter, have a play around with the physically based materials (at it's most basic level it's drag and drop!) then export textures, throw it into blender (I use blender for rendering/layout) its a couple clicks to get the mesh in and textured, and load a HDRI for lighting an render. That first result when you render out a model with physically based textures and a HDRI map for light is honestly a mindblowing moment.
      Really not that hard to get started :)

      @@just_doug Definitely. Once modelling becomes proficient, it becomes easy to transfer to photoreal. Especially with PBR materials which basically does the rest of the work for you! Might want some subsurf depending on what you're doing, but beyond that you're basically golden

      @kl-vt5ko 3 года назад +4

      I work in 3d, people don't really pay attention to your age, education, etc. They only pay attention to your reel, what you can show with your work. There are a ton of remote jobs you can do from anywhere, you don't have to move your family to work in 3d. To get started in 3d you don't even need anything expensive, one of the most widely used 3d software, blender, is absolutely free, even for commercial use. Tons of other 3d software like Unity, Unreal Engine, are all free for people who just want to experiment and have fun. The only tip I can give you to reverse aging is to just start doing things you are interested in, and focus on getting work later. Just enjoy the process. That is the way youngins work as well.

    • @RyoMassaki
      @RyoMassaki 3 года назад

      The problem with Ragdolls in all major 3D programs is the setup. You might get a ragdoll working, but you'll always start with a neutral T-Pose and there is no way to pose it properly and have it blend from an animation into ragdoll. I tried in all major Programs and its a pain in the butt and can get problematic very fast. And I am not a noob.
      You need a proper Crowd simulation tool or Houdini, or a realtime engine. It's much easier to do in Unreal Engine than it is in C4d or Blender or Maya even.

I don't think there's much more to read into it than that, it seems like he left on very amicable terms.

    It is a fairly basic level. Do not watch the entire direct. But the result is pretty bad. I think that with the same amount of polygon, you can get to something more defined. And I clarify a bad design does not mean a bad artist. If someone puts me in context of why such a basic level I would appreciate it.
