    Great video! Agree! Love that you are encouraging people to get out there now and not wait for retirement. We are not guaranteed tomorrow. We are also part-time Rvers with a travel trailer, although we are retired… well, until this RUclips thing came along, lol! We have no plans or desire to do full-time. I totally agree, we look forward to our trips and look forward to coming home, resetting and going again. Blessings, Rhonda and Stan

    RVing was a huge part of my childhood and some of my best memories …we had a 24 ft then 30 ft. Trailer. I don’t know much more than that haha. But we had a blast doing road trips every couple of months.

      It was a big part of my childhood too! So many great memories, I knew I wanted the same for our kids. (-Val)

    Watched your video, pretty good! We’ve been part timing and owned a few rv’s we are in are mid sixties and three years retired. We keep our house and have a two year old class C and come and go as we please. From the Midwest and makes no diff for the weather. We go when we feel and typically stay out for 3 weeks or so. When our kids where kids they loved it and no longer have the desire but we love it and have other interests so that said selling everything and living in a rv full time isn’t cutting it.

    Glad this video popped up on my feed. I like your vibe. We have 6 kids(five are grown)but just started as weekend warriors in July 2022 with our surprise child (only daughter). We love it!

      Love to hear it! It’s an interesting stage of life for sure lol Good to see ‘em become their own people but bittersweet too. Almost feels lonely at times, but also kinda freeing. It’s a very confusing time lol. Is this your very first season RVing? How exciting!!

      @@OurNextAdventurejvh it’s definitely an interesting time in our lives. Bittersweet is a great word to describe it. This will be our second full season in 2024. We are “disciples” of KYD. They helped get my wife over the hump of getting an RV…now she loves it too.

    We started out with a used Class A diesel pusher. It definitely got expensive fast! We are retired and enjoy part timing. We have found that the most expensive part is the fuel if you want to travel. Campgrounds are number two. Where we have found the savings to get us when we stay out for a month or two. Then RVing is much cheaper than hotels. We only use our cellphones and free Wi-Fi. We had Direct TV for a while, but you have to pay for it every month regardless if you use it or not. Also a full third of the time there would be a tree in the way and we couldn't get any signal. We have a DVD player onboard and about 400 movies at home. We pick about 40 to take with us in case we can't get any signal. We enjoy traveling.

    You folks have a great niche, Many more Rvers are part timers than Full timers. We were teachers so the summer was a great time to RV . Especially in the good ole days when You just pulled in to a campground and there was always a spot (without calling ahead)

    Great video you guys!!! We hardly camped at all last year due to health issues for my husband but I hope this year will be better. We also are just part timers and I can work while camping (work for my daughter and son in law as their transaction coordinator )if need be but the hubby is not so lucky

    We totally agree! It’s amazing how many full time RV folks are now looking for places to have a home base. I love the part time life, it’s a good mix of both worlds. Great video!

    • @OurNextAdventurejvh
      @OurNextAdventurejvh  6 месяцев назад +1

      Yeah, we’ve noticed that too lately. At least it seems a lot of full time RV RUclipsrs are showing a lot more interest in a home base. Seasons of life change! Sometimes it’s time to hit the road for a few years, and other times it’s time to settle down at home. Really interesting to see new RV community developments slowly popping up too! The ones that are developed for a smaller (tiny) home base but with an RV pad and covering like the ones in LaBelle FL. Those are pretty cool! Kind of best of both worlds.

    Agree on all counts. Handy is a nearly mandatory. We tend to seek places that have awesome bike rides nearby. Headed to Rainbow Springs in 10 days. Ditto on the Brinkley- they have the Air 295 now. The next will be a couples camper without the bunkhouse- We are salivating for the upgrade. For whatever reason i like TT's better than fivers.

      Oh we are always salivating over all the upgrades too! Lol it’s so easy to get excited over all the cool stuff out there these days! Have a great time at Rainbow Springs!

    If you start with a smaller rv that your current vehicle can tow, it’s less expensive.

    We probably had more fun in our younger days with the Jayco Pop UPs. ( maybe it was b/c we were younger) You folks are smarter for getting something smaller, the smaller, the less trouble in many ways. Love you guys.
