if you don’t already know, many amphibians like axolotls are becoming threatened, endangered or extinct in the wild. much of this is due to habitat loss. i highly encourage anyone who reads this to do some research into what amphibians are native to your area and what you can do to help them!
And if you're going to get a pet axolotl, PLEASE DO THE PROPER RESEARCH, they're very delicate animals, they can't be touched or grabbed, it hurts them. They're nice to look at, but they require soooo much care. Please be a responsible pet owner 🖤

I don't have axolotl near me but we do have mudpuppies in the pond, I thought they were the same! You had me looking up axolotl and I learned something new.

@@MarinaPerla9 you are aware that there are illegal sims 4 mods that promote highly illegal things.. if you try downloading them and playing the sims 4 im pretty sure the game is able to detect it and put you on a fbi list :)
I cannot express how much this channel has helped me in the last month. My now ex dumped me 4 months before our wedding after 3.5 years together. I’m living alone for the first time. I found lilsimsie not long before that all happened. The light and joy Kayla brings helps when I’m so aware of how quiet it is in my apartment. So thank you for doing everything you do Kayla. Axolotls are so cool but they are very very delicate and need someone who does proper care on them. Fun fact about the "firefly" axolotl and the chimera is there are only a few people who can make these creatures. The easiest way to describe it is someone splits 2 embryos in half and swaps the pieces. Then the eggs fuse back together and the axolotls born from this basically have another axolotls bottom or the half of another axolotl in the case of the chimeras. Also axolotls are in severe danger because we don't have wild axolotls really. Due to human intervention on these fragile beings and their ecosystems they cannot live in the wild. Many species have died off unfortunately or are domesticated which makes it impossible for them to thrive in their natural habitats. In some cases axolotls can "Evolve" into their salamander forms during times of great stress, poor water quality, low food, and many other factors. Sometimes they do it just cause! The little bits on their head that look kinda like the fluffy parts of a crinoid are their gills. Also i wanted to say thank you for using your platform to speak up about the awful things happening against Palestinian people. You always spread kindness and love where you go
Yeah, I foresee the future no longer having purebred Axolotls soon, if not already... I believe in captivity they are slowly no longer reproducing naturally... (If I am wrong on that, please correct me.)

I hate that we can't sell them tbh. I get that they're endangered IRL, but this is a game and that's just an inconvenience. You can still educate players about things without compromising gameplay or convenience.
@sourdough3533 it is not inconvenient at all. Like most things in the game, you don't HAVE to collect the axolotls. You could just ignore them when they pop up. Not being able to sell them is not inconvenient in any way, shape, or form. There are many other things to sell in the game. This is a great feature because it educates and will educate those who play the game and take it upon themselves to research.
I'm sure you'll find a way to build a bridge and get over it. 😊

You might collect axolotls and not know that you can't sell them beforehand. Or that you can't delete them - lilsimsie had that issue earlier in the vid. You wasted a few minutes of your time, no big deal. But if you just have the sell option, then that small hurdle doesn't exist. You lose nothing by doing it this way.
But if not being able to sell them isn't a big deal, then being able to sell them shouldn't be a big deal either. It's just another option for the player.
If they want to educate people that ADDS gameplay in a natural and fun way, they can let us actually take care of axolotls and learn what they actually need to thrive. That'd be way more entertaining and educational than a popup that says, "Don't sell them, they're endangered."

@@Ciara_Turner I’m gonna assume you mean what do you have to do to own one which is painstakingly wait three months for the correct bacteria to form in the tank before you can get it, let it sit in a different tank for a couple weeks, slowly let it get used to the tank, feed it live worms every day, change 60% of its water every week and regularly test for bad bacteria in the water

As a person who owns axolotls and has an axolotl tattoo, im so excited to see them added, plus seeing them add to fishing is a plus
The dark brown color is the natural wild axolotl color. I don't get why the brownest one is a "rare", makes no sense, it should be the most common color with the pink albino axolotl being second place, Minecraft is also guilty of this issue (treating an albino axolotl like its the default common color when it isn't).
The reason it's rare is because it's the natural one.
what does it matter it’s just a game, plus minecraft is very unrealistic; example how can our character carry so much gold?
@@mackenzieblosser3713 Sure, it's just a game, and fiction is not the same as reality. However, fiction can be used to educate people. That is clearly what they were aiming for with the axolotls. When a game is dealing with a topic a lot of players might not know much about--like a rare, endangered species--there's more responsibility to approach the topic with care.

I love collecting in the game. I am constantly trying to collect everything there is to collect no matter what I'm doing in it. It is kind of sad that there are such limited spawns for Axolotls, but it makes sense. They have so little left of their natural habitat now. 😢 We humans are such an invasive species to everything on Earth...
Oh... and I still think it would be nice if we were given a choice to return fish to their fishing spots after a long haul. Sometimes you just don't want 25 bass in your inventory, but you don't want to sell or eat them either...

While firefly axolotls are beautiful, they are very unethical! In real life they aren't bred, they are made by cutting off the tails of two axolotls and swapping them.

sorry to be that person but not really, they cut two axolotl embryos and mix them, while yes it seems unethical and all, it isn't painful and has really no affects to lifespan or functionality. and i have definitely seen worse. like there are people who sell axolotls that they have dyed with printer paper and they are sold specifically for kids and it actually kills the axolotls not long after.
@@M.B.7867 it's not always as embryos, but even with the embryo ones, it's still cutting animals apart to make them look pretty.

I have had a pet axolotl for 5 years. Her name is Piglet and she is huge! She is so cute and has so much personality. She is such a wonderful addition to our family ❤

I was worried because in a previous video you made it sound like the build buy in lovestruck was disappointing, but I've been building and I love it. I made a 5 bed 3 bath home with a home gym room with the new pack. This is an awesome day for me; a new pack I love and I got my alphabet legacy trophy (ps4) half an hour before the pack released
Recently I've found my love of Sims collections and I'm so excited about having a new one to complete, ESPECIALLY WITH THAT CUTE OF A PLAQUE!

I got the pack last night and enjoyed it. My sim’s boyfriend autonomously suggested a date, and it was great to have a wider range of date objectives, as well as more conversation choices. During the date they asked each other about their attraction levels and got neutral answers. I realised later that it was because I had set nothing in CAS for turn ons and turn offs. So I have done that now- worth remembering if your sims are both ones you created.

My sims game is broken 😭 I can’t save my game or go to manage worlds, basically the whole ui is broken 😔 I don’t even have any cc or mods
Edit: the update fixed my game! I had been so confused what the problem was since my game was working fine all of Wednesday. Then when I found out the bug was when teens/kids got in range for those good character traits it made a lot more sense. Still hope the sims team fixes the other annoying bugs soon.
I have the same problem, also no CC or Mods. Game keeps freezing and my teens just don't function.

@@kenamastethe love struck videos with simsies watermark are prerecorded so she obvsly can’t address that, but also she is not responsible of reporting bugs to the sims team. reporting bugs and glitches on the official sims 4 forum seems to be the most influential

The way I was thinking it was so cool that you'd only gotten axolotls in colors they can actually be naturally, and then you immediately get a lavender and a blue one. I don't actually know about lavender, but blue axolotls are entirely artificial (dyed). I guess a naturally blue axolotl may have been found in the time since I last researched them, but I doubt it.
What could be better than an expansion pack with both romance AND axolotls??

As an aroace who’s neither interested in the sex/romance centered gameplay nor the (according to lilsimsie) subpar cas/ buildbuy, the axolotls might legitimately be the only reason I buy this pack lol
At the end its your decision but i feel like buying it only for the axolotls would be real wasted. They dont do anything, just hang in there little tank and you cant interact with them. One reason to buy the new pack for you could be going to a friends date. I did those in my save and its actually quite fun to meet people and have a casual platonic hang out with them💓

I bred an albino, my 3rd, so cool. I also noticed that after this release, they can't go thru or under things, like arches or overhangings. o.o
I'm about to go to work, so I'll be playing when I get back. Super excited and today is my grandma's birthday. She is in heaven, but it's a great way to celebrate. With a sims 4 EP.
I hate to admit it, but my FAVORITE collection to work for is in Sims 3. The photography skill has so many specific pictures you have to take to complete the collection. Some are easy, but some are REALLY difficult, but it's so much fun trying to set up the shots.
I really liked Sims 3 collections because they felt less random and repetitive. I liked having to perform certain tasks to accomplish interesting or challenging things. The most similar collection in TS4 was gardening, but that one got kinda nerfed with the changes they made when Seasons came out. :(

Does anyone else think there needs to be a 'Romantic Boundaries' category that reflects inwards as well? As is, the new system basically gives a sim standards that they hold their partners to, BUT this does not affect the Sim's own behavior, inclinations, or personal convictions. For example, I have a Sim with the 'Loyal' trait, but if they feel flirty and already have a partner, they still have the same chance of flirting with other Sims in group conversations as anyone else, if you let them behave autonomously. In short, you can make a Sim be as jealous or not jealous as you want, but they will be as faithful as Don Lothario. I'd also like it if traits such as 'Loyal', 'Non-Committal', 'Jealous', etc. have a greater impact in the "Lovestruck" DLC.

You should use the lamp for the monsters under the bed! The kids wall lamp with cartoons (I can't remember the name)😅
8:17 another way to avoid that is by giving the child a top bunk bed! lower bunks still have the monster, but not the top ones! :)
