Yes, so true with „Venedig im Regen“. Criminally underrated. It deserved so much better than last place. Such a beautiful song and comforting voice. I will always cherish that song 🥰
My favorite from this year is Israel. Austria is my 2nd place(love that you've got it so high on your ranking, it really didn't deserve last place), and France(has grown on me), Sweden and Switzerland share 3rd. And yes Denmark deserved a higher place that year.
Why is Switzerland 17th? It was my winner in 1991! 😢❤🇨🇭 Such a good song with nice structure and drops! I love it too bc I also learned the lyrics and when I sing it everytime I would be even happier! 🇳🇱❤️🇨🇭 And yes Austria was totally robbed, it was my 4th place that year, top 5 was: 1. 🇨🇭 Switzerland 2. 🇸🇪 Sweden 3. 🇮🇱 Israel 4. 🇦🇹 Austria 5. 🇨🇾 Cyprus
1991 might have disastrous production, but it has a solid song set to make up for it. Plus it has probably the best top three of the contest--they're all so awesome in different ways! Which makes me a bit sad that you ranked France so low. I agree with you Amina's vocals are an acquired taste, but we probably are on different sides of the line here (I'm also convinced that while it's not personal, some of my winners--for 1995, 1999, and 2018 for example--are not to your taste, hehe).

This edition has been heavily criticised. Ok the hosts were a mess. But look at the photography, the lights, the bright colors. And the songs were good too.
Yeah tone-deaf people are hard to find, luckily... or maybe not cause Malta got so many points I could not believe my eyes. Even our commentator back then, who is kind of old-fashioned, couldn't hide how surprised he was Malta actually got any points.
The language of "Comme è ddoce 'o mare" is Neapolitan Dialect (I'm calling it a dialect but actually EVERY local dialect of Italy is a language on its own and they all derive directly from latin, so they're all "sister languages" of italian). I normally don't understand shit of Neapolitan because I'm form Northern Italy but the lyrics of this song in particular are pretty easy to understand for anyone who speaks italian! (Little example: the title in italian would be "Com'è dolce il mare" so you can see it's pretty similar)
What a pity for the saxophone in the Greek entry! Anyway, I love that song and Sophia is just amazing, they deserved more!! Thank you so much for Austria, I still can't belive it arrived last :/ I agree with Malta to be the winner of the contest, but I think Sweden was pretty good. Ps. Italian singer Peppino di Capri sang in Neapolitan, the dialect spoken in Neapolis, obviously :)
Unpopular opinion: Hullu Yö is a better song than Dark Side (2021). It is one of the best songs from 🇫🇮Finland ever. Finnish is a very beautiful language and I would love to hear it more at the Eurovision Song Contest.
Back again to 1991! What a weird year - I liked one half and one half not. Let's live react... 21st...ah yes. I know what I missed. I think I know he's the very first one who completely dislikes it. But on the other hand, I'd bet that Sweden is NOT his winner. Let's see. 19th sksksk I'd almost say overrated, but I think it's my 19th too. It's simply so tragic. "Nothing really is wrong with that" EVERYTHING is wrong with that. 17th, naw, undeserved, she did a great job - now I remember to turn on the subtitles, oops. Ah yes, this time my winner isn't Bottom 3 at least. 16th goes fine, higher than expected. 14th aw, another one from my Top 3 is gone now. What a cute song and singer! 12th EW. At least my last isn't your winner this time, that's good to see. 10th - oh, btw, you need to look up the lyrics for this. It's definitely one of the worst we have ever heard at ESC. But honestly, I also like it for some weird reasons. 9th - that reminds me of a friend of mine who has this as winner xD 6th - YES, finally someone loving it! 5th - 5th is actually pretty low for Tops I've seen. Still I agree, it's amazing. 4th - I knew it's not your winner! I just had this feeling. Now I bet for...Denmark? 3rd - Aye, nevermind. But YES, I LOVE THIS SO MUCH! One of my favourite Danish entries ever! 1st - SCREAMING. You never fail to surprise me, Lucas! Actually I know someone else who has this as his winner. I really can't relate to it unfortunately, it is simply bland for me. Interesting Top again, now with smaller differences than in 1999 at least.
I came across this list after I re-watched this ESC from 32 years ago. You placed France 21st.... so I had to quit the video quite fast ! France still sounds good in 2023, literally the only one of those whole bunch, even ABBA ... I mean Carola, which I placed 2nd. It was the 2nd ESC I ever watched, I was about to become 10 years old but I still remembered my frustration with the tie because I could not understand an ABBA song could win in 1991. But I guess I'm the opposite of you, ESC is for everyone :) EDIT : I skipped to the end and you think Malta was the best ... I'm not surprised as that one was 19th on my list... But you liked Clouseau, that's something ! I found Clouseau has like 20 better songs than the one they sent in 1991 which is sad.
My top 22: 1. Italy 2. Belgium 3. Israel 4. France 5. Spain 6. Greece 7. Finland 8. Iceland 9. Denmark 10. Norway 11. Switzerland 12. Sweden 13. Ireland 14. Portugal 15. Turkey 16. Cyprus 17. Yugoslavia 18. United Kingdom 19. Malta 20. Luxembourg 21. Germany 22. Austria
Pretty great songs this year, even though the show was a disaster. I'd definitely pick France as the winner this year, although Carola was great. My top 20: 1. France: I think this is so hauntingly beautiful and special 2. Portugal: excellent song, fantastic singer, great emotion 3. Sweden: love the energy of this performance 4. Cyprus: musically brilliant stuff 5. Spain: he's very charming and it feels very passionate 6. Israel: great energy and charisma, damn catchy 7. Greece: one of the most interesting songs 8. Italy: very atmospheric 9. Switzerland: lovely, pretty flawless I guess 10. Malta: nice ballad, maybe a bit generic 11. Iceland: I really like them together as a duo 12. Denmark: lovely if maybe not very exciting 13. Ireland: I think she's great but the song a bit "meh" 14. Finland: I like it but it's a bit confusing what it's all about 15. Luxembourg: generic stuff but performance is OK 16. Belgium: too bad for them they went to Eurovision with probably their poorest song, but they perform it well 17. United Kingdom: song's not bad but her vocal... and those moves... 18. Turkey: their energy is fun 19. Austria: I don't rate this at all, sorry. His song in 89 was sooo much better 20. Yugoslavia: this is trying too hard to be a guilty pleasure 21. Norway: I really don't know what they wanted with this song, it's a total mess 22. Germany: this is drivel
Everyone is entitled to their opinion but saying the Irish entry is a great singer as she hits one of the worst notes in the competition and calling Amina's singing "howling". Nope, that just doesnt sit right with me. And that is MY opinion.
I have totally opposite tastes!!!!! The only song I like in your top 10 is the one from Israel. Not a fan of the winning song. I preferred much more Amina. I can’t listen to the Austrian entry…a nightmare… Switzerland is my number 5 Yugoslavia my very last. Can’t stand the Icelandic entry.
22- It was just OK. Not much else 21- Finally! Someone who agrees about France 20- This has hugely grown on me 19- Another extremely cheesy ballad 18- Nice to see an early Baby Spice, song was pathetic 17- I thought this was amazing. Beautiful voice 16- Was underrated but not the best 15- This would have won 30 years earlier. Very 60s 14- Her voice annoys me too much 13- He went for it. Good song 12- A really sweet entry. Probably should have done better 11- BIGGEST ROBBERY OF 1991 10- Our entry, we were underrated as well. Samantha made a good acting career after this 9- Never deserved 0 points. Great song 8- I know that everyone loves it. Haven't warmed as much 7- Another cheesy song. Didn't work out for me 6- This deserved better. Great and catchy song 5- My favourite ❤ OMG this is amazing. Should have won, love this too much 4- Good winner but might have been a tiny bit overrated 3- Another massive robbery. This makes me feel so warm inside 2- It was alright but feels quite familiar 1- It was OK but overrated
I'm sorry but for me France is a masterpiece. I will put Carola first, but then Amina, try to listen her song more than one time, it's simply perfect, and if you don't like it, it's okay, but it sounds really good, must be top3 for sure.
The language of the Italian entry is Neapolitan dialect. I had to listen to it several times before i could decipher the language. Beautiful melody and Peppino di Capri sung it with so much emotion.
My top 1. Israel 2. France 3. Greece 4. Cyprus 5. Switzerland 6. Spain 7. Italy 8. Denmark 9. Finland 10. Ireland 11. Yugoslavia 12. United Kingdom 13. Sweden 14. Austria 15. Portugal 16. Luxembourg 17. Turkey 18. Norway 19. Malta 20. Iceland 21. Germany 22. Belgium
Talking about overrated entries... Sweden... seriously? And how about Malta...let's talk about boring!!! At least France brought something new and fresh! France always should have won that year!!!
@@eethemaseun i don’t mean hate amina, i mean rank her in the bottom 5. her song is beautiful and she is beautiful. she also seems like a very nice person.
I don't think it's a matter of hate--I feel like that "team Carola" vs. "team Amina" is split 50/50, with some in team Duo Datz to balance things out. From what I've noticed, Le dernier qui a parle is more low-key and sophisticated, but a bit more of an acquired taste especially with Amina's vocals. Whereas Fangad av en Stormvind is more of a crowd-pleaser, with an infectious melody and choreo to boot. I prefer Amina myself--her entry is in my top five entries ever--but I love Carola too and dance to it often!

Hi, my favourites of this year are Spain, Austria, Portugal, Israel, Sweden, Malta.
I am really surprised to see how high you placed Italy. I thought it was one of the worst songs ever in the contest with an average singer who had a very nasal voice and sang hardly a note in key. Malta was forgettable. Sweden was a terrific performance and France was an original and well performed song. I would normally just put this down to taste which can't be dictated. But the fact you've put the collossally abysmal Baby Doll (who only got 1 point) higher than France (who came second by a technicality as they got the same points as the winner both with 146) makes me seriously question if this is actually serious or a bit tongue in cheek.
I absolutely LOVE Iki dakika! Sergio Dalma(and mostly bc of this song) was kinda a legend in Latin America during the 90s. He still comes to Argentina to give concerts! Carola is BY FAR the best from this lot: great song, amazing live performance

here's my top 5 from Indonesia, i have three favorite songs
1. Israel
2. Turkey
3. France
4. Yugoslavia
5. Sweden
Venedig in Regen did not deserve last place Totally unfair
Pretty great songs this year, even though the show was a disaster. I'd definitely pick France as the winner this year, although Carola was great.
My top 20:
1. France: I think this is so hauntingly beautiful and special
2. Portugal: excellent song, fantastic singer, great emotion
3. Sweden: love the energy of this performance
4. Cyprus: musically brilliant stuff
5. Spain: he's very charming and it feels very passionate
6. Israel: great energy and charisma, damn catchy
7. Greece: one of the most interesting songs
8. Italy: very atmospheric
9. Switzerland: lovely, pretty flawless I guess
10. Malta: nice ballad, maybe a bit generic
11. Iceland: I really like them together as a duo
12. Denmark: lovely if maybe not very exciting
13. Ireland: I think she's great but the song a bit "meh"
14. Finland: I like it but it's a bit confusing what it's all about
15. Luxembourg: generic stuff but performance is OK
16. Belgium: too bad for them they went to Eurovision with probably their poorest song, but they perform it well
17. United Kingdom: song's not bad but her vocal... and those moves...
18. Turkey: their energy is fun
19. Austria: I don't rate this at all, sorry. His song in 89 was sooo much better
20. Yugoslavia: this is trying too hard to be a guilty pleasure
21. Norway: I really don't know what they wanted with this song, it's a total mess
22. Germany: this is drivel
Why make a list like this when it's clearly based on confusion?
I also like Brasil it is catchy
Everyone is entitled to their opinion but saying the Irish entry is a great singer as she hits one of the worst notes in the competition and calling Amina's singing "howling". Nope, that just doesnt sit right with me. And that is MY opinion.
I have totally opposite tastes!!!!!
The only song I like in your top 10 is the one from Israel.
Not a fan of the winning song.
I preferred much more Amina.
I can’t listen to the Austrian entry…a nightmare…
Switzerland is my number 5
Yugoslavia my very last.
Can’t stand the Icelandic entry.

17- I thought this was amazing. Beautiful voice

14- Her voice annoys me too much
13- He went for it. Good song
12- A really sweet entry. Probably should have done better
11- BIGGEST ROBBERY OF 1991
10- Our entry, we were underrated as well. Samantha made a good acting career after this
9- Never deserved 0 points. Great song
8- I know that everyone loves it. Haven't warmed as much
7- Another cheesy song. Didn't work out for me
6- This deserved better. Great and catchy song

2- It was alright but feels quite familiar
1- It was OK but overrated
Hola.: mi Top Francia, España. Portugal, Suecia, Italia,
I'm sorry but for me France is a masterpiece. I will put Carola first, but then Amina, try to listen her song more than one time, it's simply perfect, and if you don't like it, it's okay, but it sounds really good, must be top3 for sure.
1- Italia
2- ESPAÑA
3- France
4- Portugal
5- Iceland
Yugoslavia and Finland 🇫🇮 are underrated as usual
This guy really hates Spain I don't know why
In my opinion, luxembourg that year was absolutely excellent and really wonderful
can you do 2016 or 2014 next, those years are fantastic
I'm in the minority with great intimacy but in my opinion sweden deserved to win
Losing my respect for you with these strange ranking videos
The language of the Italian entry is Neapolitan dialect. I had to listen to it several times before i could decipher the language. Beautiful melody and Peppino di Capri sung it with so much emotion.
Loved the Irish song this year. Very underrated.
Strong year
FRANCE 12 POINTS.
Danish song motivated me to learn the languages It is really beautiful 😍😍
8:58 È Napoletano. Dialetto di Napoli!
You hate France or ? 😭 Pour moi c’est une magnifique chanson, très belle et surtout sa voix 🤩 + la tenue faite par Jean Paul Gaultier

France will forever be my winner !!
My winner is Yugoslavia ❤❤❤
There's no Eurovision 1984 My Top..?
why do eurovision fans hate amina so much
What? I haven't met a single Eurovision fan who hates Amina
@@eethemaseun i don’t mean hate amina, i mean rank her in the bottom 5. her song is beautiful and she is beautiful. she also seems like a very nice person.
@@beautifulflowersafterhours Most eurovision fans love her song
I don't think it's a matter of hate--I feel like that "team Carola" vs. "team Amina" is split 50/50, with some in team Duo Datz to balance things out.
From what I've noticed, Le dernier qui a parle is more low-key and sophisticated, but a bit more of an acquired taste especially with Amina's vocals. Whereas Fangad av en Stormvind is more of a crowd-pleaser, with an infectious melody and choreo to boot.
I prefer Amina myself--her entry is in my top five entries ever--but I love Carola too and dance to it often!
Greece or Israel deserved to win
