Cool channel! I've had my '04 for 5 years now and it's literally taken me across the country and back - I moved from NJ to Seattle and back again. Had a loooot of fun in the Cascades. I absolutely love it, it's been a tank and super reliable (shocking, I know). Welcome to the Disco family!
Sounds like you’ve been on a lot of great adventures! We love our disco and it’s also turned into our road trip car that can also climb any hill, so convenient lol. Glad to hear yours has been reliable for you, because they get a bad name for reliability! We wish you safe travels on all your future adventures!
Hey good to see more people choosing to rig up a discovery 2! I am waiting for mine to be ready as I bought one that needed some tlc. unfortunately here in Malta its x10 more expensive as normally they go for 15k not 1.5k xD Good luck with your adventures will surely subscribe :) take care :)
Nice Safari grill but UGH! SAI @2:38! I have SAI also. I love my D2. I'm on my 2nd D2 but first 4.0L Thor V8. My Wife had a D2 Td5 when we were stationed in England in 2007. I'm retired now and we moved back to England but I have my NAS LHD D2 here. 😎 I would mention that you consider buying the Nanocom diagnostic tester to help troubleshoot/correct Land Rover specific electrical problems. People don't want to pay the money for it but after a couple of uses on your own it pays for itself. No more paying to tow your Landy to a garage and then pay the garage to troubleshoot your electrical problems. You can do it yourself with a Nanocom and with help rom many members of the Land Rover forums.
great video! earned my subscription! Question: did you guys install a working CDL in this rig? thinking about adding one to mine (ive got an 03 as well) but a bit hesistant.
Thank you! Yes we installed a CDL from an 04 discovery. We never bought the linkage because it was a bit pricy so instead we would have to crawl under the car to engage it. Worked great for us and helped us get over some of our climbs!
Nice truck! Wondering if you have any tips (or videos) on installing the Goliath front bumper as well as the 2.5" lift kit. The OEM bumper on my '99 is all cracked up and I also recently came across the Goliath option (ARB is just too pricey). Also any tips on finishing since they're shipped unfinished?
Thanks! Our stock bumper was cracked too. The bumper is not very difficult to install. Once you take off the stock bumper, just save the bolts and nuts and you will use those to bolt on the Goliath bumper. I would recommend having two people complete the job since it is difficult to hold it up and try to align it with where it has to bolt on. Another thing, if you are planning on putting a winch on the bumper, it is likely that you will need to cut this metal crossbar that is in the way in order to make room for the electrical box that is connected to the winch. As for finishing it, on this car we spray painted it ourselves with bedliner. However, we have put another Goliath bumper on a different Land Rover that we were working on and we had it powder coated by a company for only $100. It looks way better than the one we have on ours, so if i could do it again i would powder coat it. Also, if you are planning for fog lights, you can ask the guy at Goliath to make the bumper with holes for them, it works out great! Hope this helps, if you need more visual of what i am talking about you can message us on Instagram!
You’re welcome, sorry I totally forgot the mention the lift. I’m sure there’s tons of videos on RUclips with a better step by step instruction than I can give you, but I’ll do my best! Start off with jacking up the car taking off all tires and putting it on jack stands. Be sure to put the jack stands in a place that will allow you to still move the axle up and down by the car jack to create more space to remove and replace the spring. Once you do this, just remove the old springs, you might have to tug really hard or have someone stand on the rotor for a second to give you extra space to yank it out. Then just bolt on the new shocks in the back since these ones don’t go through the spring. In the front you’re going to put the spring and then the shock through it and bolt it through the engine bay. To get the springs on, it might be a little tough, but keep trying to adjust the axle with the car jack up and down and if need be, have someone stand on the rotor for a quick second to give you some extra space as i mentioned. If you still cannot get the spring to fit in, you can rent spring compressors from autozone and these should help compress the spring enough for you to get them on. We have installed two lifts on two different land rovers and each time we used every combination of the techniques that I mentioned above. You really just have to mess with it until you can get it fitted on and bolted. Just be sure that everything is bolted on correctly and tight and you should be good! Let me know if this was clear enough or if you have any more questions!
It’s a Dual Media Player. One of our family members just had it laying around and gave it to us. It’s worked great and it’s nice to have Bluetooth connection
Sorry David but the channel will soar into huge subscribership if you disappear - just sayin.... Tiffany can carry this and well.... she's much better to look at and listen to.

@@overlandingworld Thanks so much, that's very helpful!
I just ordered that bumper for my D2...Did you have to relocate the w/washer tank?
No it fits perfectly, you can kind of see the washer tank under the bumper but we painted ours black so it blends in.
You can use a discovery 1 washer bottle/tank and relocate it to under the bonnet same place as a d1
