@@NaickKimThe little Jade watermelon is different from the regular watermelon. Little Jade melons are small and are yellow inside. They have different flavor from watermelons. In Taiwan's summers, I used to not eat regular meals, but just eating all the fruits.

Because of Covid-19,there are rare people on night market,in normal time,there were very crowded. Hope the world recovery as soon as possible. However,in this situation we feel lucky that our country still have some tourist like you can enjoy their trip, it's really happiness and thanks for our government. It seems very quiet for a night market, maybe because it was still too early? or could be due to the pendamic as well. Taiwan is one of the few countries that hasn't had to go into lockdown, enjoy your staying there. :)
Yes in the beginning it was still very early and almost nobody was there. But when we left it was around 9 and still was very quiet. I think people are indeed avoiding it at the moment.
You guys’ description about stink tofu is funny. Haha! And it’s absolutely okay to say what you think about food in Taiwan. Taste can be different from people.
Great to see you give an honest opinion on both the tofu and steak. Stinky tofu isn't for everyone, and the quality isn't the same everywhere. Oyster omelette, the chewey part is tapioca starch or sweet potato starch, it gives a slimy/chewey texture that some people like, the sauce is a ketchup and miso type of sauce. It's ok not to like everything. Cheers.
@@NaickKim Honestly, as an ethnic Chinese myself from Singapore not used to "unique" food, I've not even tried durian which is just as "smelly" like stinky tofu. I can't get past the smell and I'm not really adventurous with food.

Naick and Kim, you missed the GREATEST TREAT OF ALL! MANGO ICE (Mang Guo Binh)! You MUST try that! There are many shops in Zuoying that feature that wonderful dish.
I think u guys gotta go try spicy mala hotpot. They always offer a split pot so u can have spicy and non-spicy. Hotpot is something all Taiwanese ppl love, regardless of the weather
We love going to night markets . The most fun is checking out each stall and finding something different. With fierce competition and relatively high turn over rate, It never gets old. Stinky tofu is hard to get used to like all fermented foods. One needs to grow up eating it to find it appealing.
A cool place to explore in Southern Taiwan would be the small Lambai Island (Xiao Liu Qiu) , it's so beautiful and you can spot sea turtles. There is a cool landmark there called the flower vase, you guys should check it out! :)
You guys can try mango shaved ice during summer season. You will love it. Also some fruits are very special in Taiwan you can try it. For example litchi is one of my recommendation

My first Taiwanese oyster omelette was in the Hsinchu night market in 1975 where they also served draft beer. Those are awesome.
Both of us hadn't been born yet haha. Our parents were even still children :D

臭豆腐要剛炸出來就吃,脆脆地,夾泡菜,好吃
個人喜歡讓臭豆腐充分蘸醬汁再配泡菜,蚵仔煎也是取決在醬料味道,台灣有很多小吃料理都決勝在醬料

@@NaickKim my parents and I had thought about coming back to Taiwan to "hide out" but we ended up deciding to stay here in the states. Had we come back we would be in Kaohsiung with our family there and certainly be going to the same night market. :)
Naick and Kim, you missed the GREATEST TREAT OF ALL! MANGO ICE (Mang Guo Binh)! You MUST try that! There are many shops in Zuoying that feature that wonderful dish.

I think u guys gotta go try spicy mala hotpot. They always offer a split pot so u can have spicy and non-spicy. Hotpot is something all Taiwanese ppl love, regardless of the weather

We love going to night markets . The most fun is checking out each stall and finding something different.
With fierce competition and relatively high turn over rate, It never gets old.
Stinky tofu is hard to get used to like all fermented foods. One needs to grow up eating it to find it appealing.

下次到瑞豐夜市可以試試萬國牛排旁的曾氏福建炒麵,偏貴可是好吃
最好吃的臭豆腐則在南北樓旁的脆皮臭豆腐,他們的皮是薄脆的,光吃臭豆腐不必醬汁就很好吃了,只是每次去都要排隊。

A cool place to explore in Southern Taiwan would be the small Lambai Island (Xiao Liu Qiu) , it's so beautiful and you can spot sea turtles. There is a cool landmark there called the flower vase, you guys should check it out! :)
