I tried creating an example mix of what Ariana would hear in her In-Ear Monitors (the earplug things). Now there isn't a whole lot online as to what artists would hear exactly since most of the mixes are changed and suited for the artist but its something along the lines of an Instrumental, Guide Vocals, Click Track and sometimes a voice to count in a chorus etc (included in the video). Now do you understand why they look so surprised when they can hear them screaming? This means that the audience is very dedicated and really sings, that's why they are so happy when they can hear them. ❤️
I really thought the ear monitor was just to them to hear their own voice while singing and they actually could hear the instrumental and be on time without delays. didn't know there was also a count in and so many complex things damnnnn
Counting tempo is important
Maybe if they don’t have it they could even sing off tempo. For example, in a group called Now United, in a performance the Brazilian girl couldn’t hear anything from her in ears monitor and she started singing off tempo
they'd hear themselves as well. This is just a blank mix without any live vocals.
In-ears have basically anything the singer wants and it's not all the same for everyone. Many singers do hear their own voice back in the in-ear
Every artist may use in-ears differently. The most common scenario is the feed we hear in one ear, and the feed with a click track on the other (when they pull out one ear, it’s usually because the click track may be a distraction or they want to hear a part with their real ear). But sometimes there’s no click track, and it’s just to hear the music more accurately.
.yuh, that’s why some take them out. Especially if they wanna vibe with the crowd.

This originally surprised me, but then I remembered how dedicated she is to make sure the music and concert are good. This actually makes sense once I thought about it.
In the end they’re performing and this is their work, so they’re not necessarily singing in an average joe’s situation yaknow? Like they gotta put on a show and have tools that helps them put on the best one possible :) they’re professionals and rehearse all the time so im sure artists are totally used to it
I thought this too, but then we have to remember artist are on tour singing up to 30 songs a night. It’s so easy for forget lyrics, forget the bridge, forever what song you’re singing etc lol
If in-ears sound like this I’d be way too distracted live 😄

for swt they actually had mics in the audience to playback in her ear so she probably heard the audience at a low volume!
They usually use it only in one hear, with the other one they can hear the crowd

OMG this is the most accurate mix I've heard so far. Even got the locations of the instruments and voice clues 👌🔥

YES! the songs are amazing! the only problem with them only being released is there are no official stems released so its very hard to seperate background vocals and drums, synths and bass etc so i can pan them left / right. I'll have to wait a bit for the stems to come out to get a version that everyone will be happy with :)
