Joseph was a very talented actor in so many different roles (although he was most often cast as a villain). I especially liked him in "Five Came Back", "Gilda", "Juarez", "Algiers" , "After the Thin Man" and so many others. He brought a skilled craftsmanship and intensity to his roles. Interesting trivia: Calleia was Francis Ford Coppola's first choice to play the title role in "The Godfather" but Calleia's ill health prevented him from doing so.
