For all would be Sheep hunters: - pick a mountain range - climb the mountain...stay up on the mountain!! - descend mountain, go home. Going up and down mountains, staying below alpine every night wastes valuable time and energy. Be prepared, stay up top🤙
@@smiley847 funny you mention that, my last sheep hunts (successful and unsuccessful) I always stayed up top, I had a huge discussion with a bunch of guys from the wild sheep society conference and there are definitely two camps. One says stay down low look up and only climb the mountains when you see a shooter, the other is just get and stay high. I find it really depends on how large the range is, where I usually hunt you can stay in the alpine and hike 100km, this place the mountains weren’t longer than 2km until they dropped back down so you really minimize the area you can hunt. I agree with you though if you can stay high, do it, way easier hiking the alpine than bushwhacking lol.
awesome adventure, beautiful country. Looks like quite the grind, cant wait to get up there in a couple weeks
It was a lot of fun, I’m jealous you are about to head up! Best of luck!
