This is different though. This is so much RNG it doesn't matter and every system has only one layer of RNG to it. Feel sorry for people who play WoW and will have to deal with a endgame system of 4 layers of RNG to get a BiS next patch.(vendor drops random gear with 4 random stat values, meaning you may get one, two or three stats are BiS but the forth isn't so you need to start again.) 6.0 Best MMO gearing system imo.

Thank you, mentioning that only certain amp modifiers come on certain gear pieces is a huge thing other people haven't talked about much. Wonder how many people wasted millions trying to get a combat stat for an earpiece for example. One thing I would of added is that when you are 306, keep armorings and hilts that are the same as you have equipped just in case you get bad rng and the amp prices get too high, so you can start again at a low price.
Hopefully not too many people, if they clicked the Potential Amplifiers button! I was also wondering about that, if it's worth it to keep backup pieces if your amp rolls get too bad haha

@Rising Horizon Gaming the other mmo's you mention are unique. the only thing unique about swtor is the cutscene story mode which is why i come back sometimes. either than that it's a really poorly made WoW clone and the reason why they are doing republic vs empire again is because WoW is doing horde vs alliance in bfa, there is lots of problems with this game man and the first one is the amount they limit ftp people, they just get frustrated and hate the game. i'm playing smuggler right now and you can't play an hour without a bug that's been there from launch showing up, you will be talking to risha and there will be 2 of her. i have hamstring ability called tendon blast or something but nothing that i recall or have encountered yet in pve runs away from you so why is it an ability? it should be a pvp talent ,why have it on my bars? the mobs are the same everywhere you go, 3 regular npc's, 1 regular and silver npc, or a lone champion. the cartel market is a joke and expensive as hell, how can you emulate it anyways :P on this imaginary swtor emulator. no one ever buys anything off the auction house unless it's undercut so bad they think they can flip it for profit or someone really needs the item to unlock a collection and a bracer will be like 20mil. games in bad shape man it's just a joke. i'm having fun for a bit and i'll go back to classic WoW phase 2. never again will i spend a dime on this game though.
I spent a little over 20 million testing this: You cannot get two identical amplifiers. So you can get for example Starfighter rewards +1% and Starfighter rewards .80%... but you cannot get Starfighter rewards +1% twice.
@@Swtorista Well, unfortunately this means that we can't really get a meaningful amount out of these amplifiers. I'm sure they'll address it in the future, but as it stands it's kinda not great =/

Turn this game into a single playercgame for those of us that can't play this great game. Haven't played in 3 years cause of no PC anymore sigh i miss this
I think it's a good decision to not include Amplifiers on weapons, since there isn't a cosmetic weapon slot, and so a lot of people use a moddable CM or quest reward for it's appearance and slot good mods. This way you aren't forced to use a weapon from the new expansions since they don't offer anything better than any other moddable weapon.
Can you equip amplifiers to Adaptive Gear ? Thank for everything Swtorista i'm sure i will spend a lot of time watching your videos, that i like more, than playing the game.
@@Swtorista Amp's are attached to shells, armorings and mods. You can have amps on any gear it will just be missing the shell amp (which isn't much just a gathering skill) So for example, I have a rare Kell Dragon chest armor that I'm wearing that has 2 amplifiers on it, but missing the shell armoring. (I did this so I could still wear my unobtainable armor for the hell of it because you only need 6 pieces for the set bonus) ...all i lost is 1 amp for a gathering skill.
Ok let me see if i understand I have my adaptive armor, it's a mish match of things i like, i upgrade them via mods, in general when i'm five levels below, the enemies, now if i want amp's i can buy them or take out from a looted armor, and what about the slot ?
Swtorista thanks again for the useful information. Heres a question for you. When you put an item on sell in the GTN can everyone see it or only everyone to your corresponding sever?? Thank you in advanced.
For some reason when I try to do this I notice that there is no credit amount listed above recalibrate and there are no potential amps listed, am I missing something.
So basically, it is like rerollling an attribute in Diablo III. Swtorista, could you please make a video on what I can do with Tech Fragments if I can't afford the crazy credit fee of the gear vendor? I'm sitting on 5k fragments, I have no idea what to do with them.
There's other things you can buy but they are all cosmetic. There's some vendors in the room beside the expensive one that sells pets and mounts for tech fragments. There also might be some decorations on Ossus. Honestly though I'd recommend go do heroics for an hour or two - if you sell everything you get and turn in the crates and sell what's in those you can earn a million pretty quick.
Madame admiral, I got a question! Does periodic Intensity affect the burning effect of the primed ignition tactical for arsenal mercenaries, I've been asking around and no one seems to be sure O_O
I played as a Sith Sorcerer ( healer ) for many years, but I stopped in 2016. I've thought about coming back to the game, but the new system looks so complicated. I did flash points and operations all the time. What's the learning curve like for a casual, but, dedicated player?
If you've seen the other gearing video, the system is actually pretty easy, do content, get higher rated gear, equip it, do more content and get better gear :) Ex you can completely ignore amplifiers if you want haha. If you played back in 2016 you'll be in good shape to jump back in to flashpoints and operations once you've finished the new storyline and got your basic gear - not a ton has changed when it comes to actual playing, just gearing.
Well I downloaded the game and discovered that everything in my legacy is intact... except for my characters!@!! So I have to start over. I want to play as a Sith Sorcerer healer again but under the new system is it better to start out with Corruption or just go for DPS ( lightening ) until I reach level 50 +? Thanks again for your feedback.
@@aaronsynra6867 You can level as sorc heals, we have alot of dps abilities in heal spec. Just set your companion as DPS and go to town. Much better to play for a few hours with your companion before queing for group content, and when you do decide to que up for some flashpoints, just filter out a couple easy ones like (Black Talon, Hammer Station, Athiss) and practice in those until you feel comfortable.
@whitekryptonite I've decided to play the game from the beginning ( level 1 ). Since my legacy bank was still intact ( as well as all my strongholds - thank goodness. but I lost all my 20 million credits ) I found the XP armor set that we got for completing the dark vs light event. Should I use that for a while or just the armor drops? Sorry everyone I am just really confused.
@@aaronsynra6867 You might want to just use the green and blue armor drops for awhile until you get back into the swing of things and get some credits. Just set aside the +XP armor into your cargo hold for now.
I already feel poor in real life. Now after seeing how many credits you have and watching you spend them, I feel poor in the game too lol. 😭 P.S. As always, thank you for the instructional video.
Haha! That's from my referral code from my channel, it's not a realistic amount to have. I actually just spent all 400 million on researching crafting recently
When you roll for a new item and the price goes up, is that only for that specific gear or does the price keeping going up as you try to modify more in the future?
What is your referral link so I can give you more cartel coins lol. I am fairly new to swtor and all your videos are so helpful, but there is alot to learn lol. I know you already have alot of coins, and everything in the game, but I wouldn't mind using your referral, since I'll be spending soon. So far I've have alot of fun, and done some veteran flashpoints, only ran into 1 toxic lvl 75 player, but thats about it, the rest are friendly.
Amplifiers are an RNG game for wasting your credits faster than you realise and half of them don't actually work, like the crafting ones. Play this game at your own peril but it's easy to blow 10s of millions on just one character without realising it and what for? And think about this...once you spent however many credits on amping your characters, what happens when a new tier of gear gets released (like always happens)? Well the main amps are linked to the mods so then I guess you can get new mods and amplify them all over again. It's draining credits from people and it looks like it's boosting CM sales because people need to sell stuff on the GTN to keep up with the credit costs (not just for amps). I just decided to take a break from the game for a while because, well, I've got a bad feeling about this...
By any chance do you have any proof of the crafting ones not working? After the crafting rate and a full set of crafting amps I wound up with about a 30-50% chance of getting doubles/crits and it seemed to help a lot for going up the difficult RE trees
@@Swtorista It's something a number of people said to me before I had any clue about it. When you look at the crafting interface, you can see for each companion what their crafting crit rating chance is and efficiency. What I can tell you is that when I removed some of the +10 crit mods, it made no difference in that rating and whereas I noticed a difference. Absolute proof I can't give you but it's what I've been hearing a lot lately and I have not personally noticed an improvement since I got those mods. In fact when I craft augments for example the crit rate has been pretty poor. When I look at the factual crits I have gotten and the cost of the mats, selling them for the current 5M a piece on my server is actually a loss for me. And I use rank 50 influence companions and +10 crit mods. So make of that what you will but my experience fits more with it being true they don't make a difference for me than that they are working as intended. I was actually arguing for the crafting mods at least having some use and then people started telling me they don't work. That's what made me look into it.
@@Swtorista Understandable. Here's an interesting thread www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=971457 Look at what Void_Singer wrote about testing the efficiency numbers. It looks like that the higher influence your companion has, the lower the effect of the amplifier bonus.
So many good things in this expansion and they managed to fuck it all up with the worst gearing system I've ever seen. I'm full 306 BIS (yes set bonus and min/max) on 2 toons in under a week. I have 6 other alts in full 306. I have the mats to craft a full set of augs. Where is the incentive to sub after recent f2p and preferred changes? They need people in charge who actually know what an MMORPG is about. Grinding. Bring back expertise, bring back companion gearing, make BIS mods drop only from Master Mode Operations or else there is nothing to work towards other than making credits and then rolling them away. They need real gamers in charge, us no-lifers who actually play 12 hours a day. I can bet that not a single dev goes home and plays swtor or another mmo. That's a serious issue and it will show in their quarterly next year.
I don't think I'd say it's worth the cost, but you can actually get a pretty large boost if you add up all the amplifiers in your gear. It'd be something like 7% if you do all your gear, which is almost like getting a whole another piece of gear.

Was looking for this exact comment lmao. I've played to much Diablo 3 to see where this is going :/
Why is my character not able to complete missions like before in dailies like cz-198 it takes forever to get through and I can't even solo heroics now I had maxed out gear so now I feel like everything's been fragmented so much that it's going to take forever to get that back is there a reason for this
They changed the way level sync works - I don't know the specifics though.
@@Swtorista It hurts
amplifier list showing them all doesnt show up for me. always blank page :(
It was broken for a while but it should be working now? swtorista.com/articles/what-are-amplifiers-in-swtor/
Oohhhhh I was wondering why they were on weapons, I think you hit the nail on the head.
Still I find it stupid that your old expensive gear from the Cartel or events can't get amplifiers. All goes to waste? Good job Bioware
I just returned to SWTOR, do I have to replace all my old gear since they don't have amplifiers?
You'd eventually replace it anyway together the new gear and set up us shells
Can you equip amplifiers to Adaptive Gear ? Thank for everything Swtorista i'm sure i will spend a lot of time watching your videos, that i like more, than playing the game.
Sadly no, they are attached to the armor and can't be removed.
Thanks you so very much
@@Swtorista Amp's are attached to shells, armorings and mods.
Ok let me see if i understand
I have my adaptive armor, it's a mish match of things i like, i upgrade them via mods, in general when i'm five levels below, the enemies, now if i want amp's i can buy them or take out from a looted armor, and what about the slot ?
Swtorista thanks again for the useful information. Heres a question for you. When you put an item on sell in the GTN can everyone see it or only everyone to your corresponding sever?? Thank you in advanced.
Everyone on your current server only. So each server has a slightly different economy!
Awww..... Now i know to slow things down. Thanks again😃
I have been going at this all wrong, stupid me spending credits all wrong
For some reason when I try to do this I notice that there is no credit amount listed above recalibrate and there are no potential amps listed, am I missing something.
Noooo idea sorry
So basically, it is like rerollling an attribute in Diablo III.
Swtorista, could you please make a video on what I can do with Tech Fragments if I can't afford the crazy credit fee of the gear vendor? I'm sitting on 5k fragments, I have no idea what to do with them.
There's other things you can buy but they are all cosmetic. There's some vendors in the room beside the expensive one that sells pets and mounts for tech fragments. There also might be some decorations on Ossus. Honestly though I'd recommend go do heroics for an hour or two - if you sell everything you get and turn in the crates and sell what's in those you can earn a million pretty quick.
wait...how did you get Lana on your ship?! Mine is still empty :(
In onslaught she and my other companions appeared
My ship is still empty after the onslaught as well(
Madame admiral, I got a question! Does periodic Intensity affect the burning effect of the primed ignition tactical for arsenal mercenaries, I've been asking around and no one seems to be sure O_O
I'm the wrong person to ask sorry 😋
@@Swtorista oh! it's okay! But still thank you Lady Admiral! your guides has been very useful! 👍
402 m credits? Holy shit.... lol
Just set aside the +XP armor into your cargo hold for now.
is there any point in it? like what? if i managed to get +1% on every item, how much? 8%? im just newbie, but they seems too low for anything
thats juicy looking armor... what is it?
If you mean the thumbnail I think it's crimson talon
Can f2p get purple/gold amplifiers?
I already feel poor in real life. Now after seeing how many credits you have and watching you spend them, I feel poor in the game too lol. 😭
P.S. As always, thank you for the instructional video.
Haha! That's from my referral code from my channel, it's not a realistic amount to have. I actually just spent all 400 million on researching crafting recently
I boosted a new char to 70 and all of the pieces are amplified
cool!
well shit, i tought my 600k credits was something, she burned trough more just to show us the cost goes up each time fml
I have free cartel coins from my referral code to work with haha
When you roll for a new item and the price goes up, is that only for that specific gear or does the price keeping going up as you try to modify more in the future?
Keeps going up just for that item, new item restarts
Keeps going up just for that item, new item restarts
Question, how on earth do you have so many credits??
BTW, you have a lovely voice...
It's from the referral code on my channel.

😉 good
What is your referral link so I can give you more cartel coins lol. I am fairly new to swtor and all your videos are so helpful, but there is alot to learn lol.
I know you already have alot of coins, and everything in the game, but I wouldn't mind using your referral, since I'll be spending soon. So far I've
have alot of fun, and done some veteran flashpoints, only ran into 1 toxic lvl 75 player, but thats about it, the rest are friendly.

Yeah I'd really like to see some official feed back in them. No one seems to know if they work for sure lol.
@@Swtorista Understandable. Here's an interesting thread www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=971457
Look at what Void_Singer wrote about testing the efficiency numbers.
OMG a whole 1% gain....................... worthless. Great video though.
I don't think I'd say it's worth the cost, but you can actually get a pretty large boost if you add up all the amplifiers in your gear. It'd be something like 7% if you do all your gear, which is almost like getting a whole another piece of gear.
Last.
Laster.

What are amplifiers? Wank. They are wank.
