    • @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023
      @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023  2 года назад

      A charcoal filter is for smell in grow tents and not. for1 removal of particles. Most lasers use a very expensive hepa filter. 6 inch is way overkill and will move a lot of heat from your house plus the duct is almost 7 inches od. You will need a way to make up for that either in your hvac system or open window to ptevent back pressure in your appliances. You had bett get some help designing your system because you apparently have no idea about airflow and keep going to different extremes. Contact Xtool and see if they can help you.

      Thanks. I don't have plans. that would be useful. I have the tap files for the side but that's not what the final assembly is. I start slightly over size and trim as I put things together. Most everything was just made from measurements as assembling and I don't waste time documenting stuff or fixing files because I will never build another. I drilled and tapped holes in the frame by transfering them and had to modify the x motor cables to make the chain work. I have about 100 hours into this. Most went to tweaking everything to be a perfect fit with perfect gaps as putting it together and changing ideas as I went along. I would say start with some cardboard, make some sides, decide if you want to void the warranty or use other ideas to make it all work together. I originally was trying to find a vacuum former to just make a big one piece clear enclosure over a form I started that would drop over the machine which really would be easy to mass produce and be super affordable but that would have taken months with the current situation so .I switched to this. Thanks for watching.

      It's just a 4 inch tee going out through one of the 4 inch flapper vent like they use for dryers to keep clod air out. Used 2 4 inch dust collection blast gates to isolate them when just running one. Thanks for watching.

    Excellent work, Sir. I’m doing research before designing my own enclosure for my xtool d1 that showed up yesterday. I used it for the first time today and wasnt expecting so much smoke and fumes from the cutting, so it looks like an enclosure is in order. Would you say that the 4” duct fan moved enough air to keep the smoke down? Is there any reason why you didnt opt to go down draft?
    Once again, nice work, and you have an impressive shop there!

    • @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023
      @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023  2 года назад

      This Infinity fan is overkill and I only use the 2 or 3setting. Fan should be designed to create just a slight vacuum in the enclosure and it doesn't really matter how it flows. I figured updraft would let me open the cover faster. Air intake locations seems to make the biggest difference in how clear the air stays. Thanks for watching.

    Man I wish I was as skilled as you! I was wondering if you have had any problems with the software so far? I have had 2 projects now be ruined because the software just shut down once I was doing the final version...☹ and once that happens I don't think I would ever be able to get the design to line up again. Love watching your videos though!

      I haven't had any shutdowns but I switched to lightburn the end of November so I haven't used their software since. If you use lightburn there are excellent instructions on the xtool support page showing how to set it up. Load their setup for the d1 also for the easiest way to get started. It uses the upper lh for the origin and works great. Thanks for watching.

    Even with the filter, I want to filter it outside with a hose. If I get a reducer is that fan strong enough to push it safely out a 30 or 35 foot 1.25-inch hose, please?

    • @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023
      @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023  2 года назад +1

      The Infinity fan will work with a 25 ft 4 inch hose. You will need a high pressure blower for smaller tubing and longer runs. 1.25 hose won't move enough cfm without a very high pressure blower to overcome the static pressure.

    • @russagarrett
      @russagarrett 2 года назад

      @@unemployedredneckhillbilly2023 Great answer glad I asked. If the air is already filtered at the Enclosure you mean something like a cheap in line fan about 10 or 15 feet in line down from the filter to give it a "boost" ? rated at 100 cfm or 150 cfm to push the air on out or more cfm I have no idea ? I appreciate your time i would not want my 3year old grandson to get sick on my account

    • @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023
      @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023  2 года назад

      You will need something like a shopvac to use 1.25 tubing and they are not rated to run constantly as many jobs take 6 to 8 hours. The Infinity fan and a short 4 inch run outside works for me and that's all I will use. Anything else you must design and test. Use metal pipe or metal lined hose so you don't develop static that can destroy electronics and shock your grandson. Some plastics create vapors that can kill so do research about the material before burning on it.

    Ii am interested in building my own enclosure for my Ortur Laser Master Pro 2. I saw the video on your version of the same unit. However, on this unit you used a different model fan and you did not put a diffuser in. Is there a particular reason? And, also I see you didn't drill as many vent holes and seems like you incorporated them into the side plexiglass panels as well as a few drilled holes in the bottom. Thanks for your time.

      I decided to try the new lower cost fan and It works just as good. Same specs just more plastic. Just changed the vents so a long piece can be slid through the sides. The vents across the back are not needed and the baffle gives more even airflow but is not needed from what I am seeing. Thanks for watching.
