@@josephhenderson7044 I use a red light on my headlamp, same as when I climb into my set. Been doing it for years, pretty easy to find the bowstring/limb with a big hook in the dark 👍🏼
A retractable dog leash is a money saving hack versus retractable hoists. Took a silver sharpie and marked it every six inches so I always have an idea of how high I am. I gear tie it to my waist belt on my pack and it permanently lives there.
Been hunting 25 years this year. Im 37 years old. I use a summit climber, or ground hunt. Literally have never used anything else but a piece of string. Never gets tangled nothin. Once im up pull it up. Zero issues. The problem is innovation is controling minds rather then just stickin to what works. Always new always better.. NEVER IS.
Im 38 ive been summit viper climbing for 26 years! Small bow rope in my primos vest is all i need! I go from ground to (22ft) hunting in 7 mins! Were brothers! 🙌🏾
I would be careful hooking between string and cam. Had my bow derail one year from a just right slight snag on the way up. Probably not common. Just food for thought.
I use a retractable rope tied to my saddle then as I’m pulling my bow up it automatically coils back into it and it’s out of the way and quiet. Keeps me hands free while setting up and nice not having a rope of some sort all tangled in my pocket somewhere.
This is honestly a smart idea I havnt thought about a lot of times my rope gets stuck in all the trees and branches and crap on the way up and just makes for a frustrating experience this sounds a lot simpler to deal with the bow after the challenge of getting up 😂
Nice tip. It is sometimes annoying how the haulers rope can get tangled. But I wonder how long it takes to hook the bow with that thing. Must take some practice.
YA / NO not lifting up my bow in the dark with a flashlight on my head and a chance of the hooking not correct/ I’ll use fool proof carabiner hook from ground when I reach height will hoist up bows to expensive to play
Pulling your bow up by its string is the worst way you could pull it up hook onto limbs or cam I literally just watched a guy unstring is bow from pulling up like thst
Marginally hooked in the dark and it falls no telling how many feet and now after traveling 400 miles to hunt “the rut” in “land of the giants” your bow is no longer useable. Nah I’ll stick to the “pain in the butt” old fashioned way.
Great idea for afternoon hunts but I can’t imagine trying that at 5am
That’s what I was thinking 😂

That bow is going to get dropped.
I use a grappling hook

Same. I got the $6 one from Harbor Freight. It's on year 4 now!
That is actually genius. I’ve always used a retractable tether cut into my pack but the dog leash is even better
😮 what a great idea

I use my rappel rope to hoist my bow or gun. It's easier to grab the 8mm rappel rope than a thin paracord or, especially that hook thing.
Do ya hunt in the am? Pretty dark to see a bow let alone a triangle...
Um do you know what a flash light is ??
What’s the best saddle to hunt out of? Also where did you get the paracord material from?
I do the same but with a TETHRD mini grappling hook on a doyle’s gear hoist. I get all my gear down the same way when descending
Never had an issue w rope getting tangled around sticks on the way up
Wow wish I always had it that way😅
Where did you source that hook

Where did you get the hook on the rope at
When storing the rope Figure 8 it around your thumb and pinky. It will prevent it from tangling

This is way worse than a small pully tether lets be honest here

This seems like one of those things that would be way easier in theory than in reality but I’m curious to see how it works for you.
It is not easy until you get the hang of it don’t just think your going to buy one of these and automatically be a pro takes practice
Been trying to find this by searching cold shut links but no luck. Any help?
What's that triangle at the end of your paracord? Is that a DIY invention, seems simple enough - but I got to ask.
It’s called a cold shunt link.. tractor supply or home depot has them
What sight is that on your bow
It’s an ultraview uv slider

Bow hoist is the best that clips to back pocket.
Doyle’s gear hoist would solve this issue for you. You’d never look back after you try it…
Yep..not doing that before sunrise. Id be sitting there fishing for my bow for 20 minutes in the dark
I just tie a string to my bow and the other end to my saddle get set up just pull it up same way I would with any stand
What tree tether set up are you using? @WhitetailFit
Done this , I'm a tree trimmer for a living.
Pretty slick
‘Clink clink clink’

Only thing is wind. If it’s ripping then you have an issue.
Great. Now try that in the dark lol
Hunting and fishing mixed together
Great idea for doing in the dark and you’re 25ft up in a tree
@@markmurrell1894 been doing it for many years with no issue. It’s really not that hard haha
I just hook everything up and then carry it up.
Get yourself a Bow Spider and be done with it. Forget the rope altogether.
When I go hunting it’s to hunt, not fish. 😂
A new spin on bow fishing
Shooting out of that looks awkward
Retractable dog leash
Yea I’m tying that rope to my bow. No way in heck am I fishing for it.
No fuggin way
Probably not a great idea to hook it by the string. Great way to derail your bow

risk to derail your string from the cams and ruin your hunt day/week.
Great rope trick
Until it falls off!
Thats silly !!
Yea no thanks. You’re 4ft off the ground 😂
Dude just get a retractable bow hoist that clips onto your saddle….
If you have a Mathews i love there bow rope scs system
F that
