I mean-
Hey, brazilian here, I'll try and summarize the whole situation from the public perspective, as I was well aware of Melody ever since she started to gain popularity here on the internet.
Melody appeared first as a meme, she tried to sing and do some falsettos, it was fun and all, nothing out of the ordinary, just the internet laughing at a child, but when her father saw the opportunity to cash on that by sexualizing his daughter, he recieved a MASSIVE backlash. It worked, well, for a while. Felipe Neto (the youtuber you mentioned in the beginning) took the matter in his hands, he contacted authorities and Melody's parents, and for a while it was a lot better, if you look at her pictures around her 12th birthday and the ones from a year before/later you'll see what I mean, but as soon as the public eye turned around it all came back.
It's tiring to deal with a situation like this, where you can't turn around for a second without risking to have all your effort thrown away. This situation never really went way, we didn't just turn blind all of a sudden, but bigger public figures did, and, although it pops up now and again on twitter, it never has any impact.
Edit: on a side note, Felipe Neto, the youtuber mentioned before, haven't spoken out about it after he gained even more popularity by trying to protect Melody. I'm not implying anything, but this is a pattern in his behavior...

i am also brazilian and I feel like today a lot of kids in brazil are getting more and more exposed to funk and inappropriate dances and clothes, and a lot of parents don't see this as an issue. of course some do, but today, and I can say this cause it happened to someone I was close with, kids in brazil are acting like they are 19 or some and it is totally disgusting like wut?

As someone who also is Brazilian, I also need to remember:
Melody isn't the problem. In a lot of ways, it's her father. In some other ways, it's the public. In the end, even if we try to stop it, we're still giving it attention - negative, but attention nonetheless. You know a lot of stuff here in Brazil works by the "Negative attention is still attention" motto.

As a Brazilian I can confirm that despite our culture being much more open about sexuality we find it absurd what happens to Melody and many youtubers, newspapers and magazines have already exposed her father, but it always come back to be as it was before, unfortunately. And the worst part is that nobody consumes her content besides young kids and adult men, which is extremely disgusting and most people here abhor her father’s behavior and obviously these men

Melody's case has been a serious topic here in Brazil since she was about 7 years old. I have no idea how her dad is not in jail because literally EVERYONE knows who he is and how he always sexualized her.
Felipe Neto actually tried to talk to Melody a lot of times before but nothing changed until he was legally involved in the case against Melody's father (I can be wrong about it, it's been a long time since it happened).
PLEASE don't think that this is normal here because it's not. We see A LOT of cases like that but we also know how problematic and dangerous it is.
Also, "Funk" is super controversial but has a historical backgroud. Similar to hip hop, funk is (or at least was) an way of expression for some minorities. It's a long discussion but it's not only about show off things and the music itself.
OF COURSE misogyny is one of the biggest problems in the funk culture, the same with sexualizing kids. It's so disgusting and it needs to stop, but unfortunately that's not only about the genre itself, it's a really bigger discussion.

Sup mate! I'm Brazilian and I got some observations
1: In Brazil, this is normal, I mean not normal like "It's okay, just one more" no, is just like, non-rare to find, and a lot of people don't like that of course. We are very conservative over here in Brazil as well, of course, not like in the UK but we're not savages nor neanderthals.
2: Felipe Leal (The other 12 yrs old boy who appear in some videos) is actually her "boyfriend" and he has 2 brothers who are also youtubers, they are know as Irmãos Berti but believe me bro, you don't wanna get there.
3: In a TV show who is very famous in Brazil called Pânico na Band, Melody appears in one episode and she's asked why she doesn't do things who are normal for her age (Obs: At this point, she was 10) like playing dolls or just watching cartoons. And her answer is just the most cringe thing I have ever heard, she says she isn't a child anymore and that she is old enough to be considered a preteen, reminder: SHE WAS 10 YEARS OLD, so that's it man

Actually, as a native Spanish, I can say that once u learn one either Spanish of Portugal, the other comes naturally as they are incredibly alike. So it’s really easy to learn it
When your country has a lot of languages, so they chuck them down your throat, thus trilinguals.
french, portuguese, spanish and italian are all super similar, once you have any of those down you can branch out

I'm Brazilian, and for me this situation is extremely jarring (and to most people that I know). There are cultural differences between the UK and Brazil of course, but even here the way that Belinho explores Melody is heavily criticized (specially after Felipe Neto brought attention to the matter). There's always a heavy debate about the relation of funk with rape culture that I won't get into right now, but if there's one thing that most decent people agree on is that children should not be a part of the music genre. As a Brazilian, I can say that this kind of content is normal....

As a brazillian i can say that the whole melody drama started when she was 8 years old, but became popular just before she turned 11. I can also say that she is not any different from any other kid here in Brazil. I remember being her age and thinking that that kind of attitude was normal. I also sometimes see my sister (she's also 13) and her friends behaving the same way, and even starting younger than i did. And it's only getting worse.
That is not even the reason why melody became a meme. Because it's normal for us. This issue came to light after she became famous for unrelated reasons.
The fact is that melody's behaviour is extremely normal among children in Brazil. The only difference (and that's what makes it the most concearning) is that her parents not only approve but encourage it - which is NOT normalized here.
The main problem is that everyday people forget more and more that this kind of behaviour this young IS an issue.

Us Brazilians are also pretty much against this whole "kids in funk" situation, but it is still pretty common...Every family party I go to I see my little cousins and they're dancing to funk as if it is ok. Last year I went to a barbecue at my uncle's house and there was funk playing. My older cousins started to dance, then some of my 5 yo cousins also started dancing and everyone just laughed and said they looked cute... but when they started twerking for real, their grandparents (my uncle and my aunt) actually made a whole scene calling out their parents. It's an actual issue that we even talk about in Sociology class at school and it's good that other people get to know about it because, if you think about it, it's really complicated cause Funk music is a really important industry in Brazil for entertainment and all...but it's culture affects our morals constantly and it clearly influences kids in a bad way.

As a Brazilian, this has grossly become normalized for children to be more provocative, and I don't know who is condoning it. I guess it's new parents, as the older generation finds it inappropriate but also don't do anything to stop their grand kids from acting this way.
