Thanks for the guide! Instructions were very unclear. It even says "plug and play" on the manual. Used this method to use an Xbox One controller on PS3. Same thing. Plug in a PS3 controller, then unplug, add the bluetooth adapter, pair, and you're set! Can't wait because I really hate PS controllers since I switched to Xbox when the 360 came out.

I recently bought a dongle (both 5.1 and 4.0). I regret buying the upgraded one, but the 4.0 definitely works. I even tried it on my PS3 earlier. The only difference is, I simply had to press the PS button and it automatically syncs with the dongle.

Everyone the answer is yes this method still works 2020 but you do need a CSR 4.0 BLuetooth Dongle to use wirelessly

All that work. Best u buy a wingman xb. U don't have to mimic any controller. U just plug and play. Plus it has bluetooth with it. No bluetooth adapter needed. And it's alot cheaper.

It took me a month to realise that the Xbox One controller had a micro USB on top. Does it allow for charging, or no?
No, unless you have the charge kit which has a special battery, then you can charge it using the micro USB :-)

Once the adapter is authorized what if you don't want to take out the batteries off the xbox one controller and instead turn it off and connect any controller you want.
