I'm buying anything of interest digitally but would like to rgh it specifically for delisted games like Horizon 1 & 2, Jet Set Radio, etc. Until then I at least was able to get the demos for Horizon 2 & Jet Set Radio. I miss the demos and it is gonna suck when games get delisted on Xbox One and up that didn't have demo versions.
0:50 This console was manufactured in July 2008 which is around two months after fixed GPUs from ATI where being installed. It's not about the revision when it comes to reliability, it's about when the console was manufactured/serviced because even Xenons with a fixed Y1 GPU are reliable

I've probably just been very lucky though so far since I've never had too many problems with my Xbox 360, and I never got the Red Ring of Death on it either even though the Red Ring is mostly common with the original models instead which I don't even have anyway. I also wonder what's going to become with the Xbox 360 after next year because the date and time settings on the console apparently only goes up to the year 2025 which is already next year. So, if anyone tries to play their Xbox 360 consoles after 2025, I don't know how that will work exactly. It probably would have been nice though if Microsoft ever released a system update or something for the Xbox 360 that would allow the system to go even beyond 2025, especially since most game systems usually go as far up as 2099 at least.
You can open up that external 360 HDD dock and install a larger HDD even on an unmodded console. It's not exactly plug and play, as it requires connecting the old HDD to a computer and downloading the secret keys for the drive and then copying that key to the new HDD and partitioning the drive properly for the 360, but It can be done.

I managed to unknowingly land on a JTAG Xenon, Blades dash no less, just recently. I'm absolutely torn whether to do a Blades JTAG, given it's my 2nd unit to be able to JTAG. btw, a few things to point out: - your FS3 unit you got sent isn't a JTAG. It's a RGH1.2v2 VERY likely, and that chip is an AliExpress-made Matrix 1:1 clone. (I just ordered one like that for a Zephyr) - 9:59 That's an Elpis revision Xenon. Basically Xenon mobo but with a twist - the GPU is not a 90nm chip anymore, it's a 80nm one similar to later 2008 Falcons. They basically took one of those "Rhea HTG85" GPUs from Falcons, modified their BGA solder to fit the Xenon mobos, and that's about it. - That service date Jasper has likely been in for caps issue rather than DVD drive though it could be either or both
did you work for samsung? there is so much you can mod but the dvd-cd drives chip is matched to the main board. red ring is just thermal paste. the slim is the easier mod but front plates are touchy. any tech info needed ill reply. ps3 is reflow junk.
Jacob, that console is not JTAG, it is a RGH, I can tell by the chip which looks like a matrix glitcher that you showed in the back, and the newer metro dashboard boot screen that showed up at boot.
I had a guy do a JTAG on my Xbox since we couldn't buy Live Gold in my country. Great decision. A friend gave me a 640GB HDD for it and it still has like 70,80 games on it. It just takes some time to boot up, sometimes luck is needed too, idk why...
I've been buying Xbox 360s at value villages alot lately for like 7 bucks a pop. No hard drive or cords but still 7 bucks is a deal in my opinion, and I've bought 5 now and every one has worked just fine

I don’t think that 360 is a jtag. If it’s got a modchip it’s an rgh. Jtag was known for being a super simple 2 wire and a diode install while modchips require timing files, a modchip, and wires all over the board. The easiest way to actually tell if it’s a jtag without taking it apart is using an app on the 360 called dash launch. It tells you the flash version (jtag/glitch) and motherboard version as well as a bunch of other stuff you won’t really need to mess with unless you understand what you’re messing with.
A friend told me that you can download a modified Xbox Original emulator which skips the game check and will let the Xbox run any Xbox original game. Obviously some stuff works flawlessly, some stuff has broken cutscenes and some stuff is just unplayable.

I had a jtag console. Spent forever getting a ton of games on it and setting it up and then barely played it. I still have it but I had more fun setting it up than playing it tbh. Did the same thing with my Wii. I have like 200 games on it and occasionally my gf and I play Mario Kart or Just Dance lol

Yes. These falcons are usually very reliable, same with refurbished early consoles

@CliffNark jaspers are indestructible, don't get me wrong. But a late falcon especially with the X816971 is basicly a jasper with a 90nm gpu

I have a RGH'd 360 and there's an extended compatibility list for OG Xbox games. The success of those games properly working is variable.

11:05 likely bad caps. Had a zephyr that had that issue until i replaced the 8 big caps onbord
