These are a great find, thanks for the review.
Just ordered a set through Amazon. I like how you are able to adjust with the dumbells on its side horizontally rather than vertically. This would allow you to adjust both sides at the same time. Plus if you want to use lifting straps to help isolate like if your doing a power lateral or simple dumbell curls you can take more grip out of the movement. We aren't all looking to rip up phonebooks in our spare time lol. And also if you wanna use these for an overhead triceps extension these provide a real nice flat surface. Like the Iron Master better they looks slightly better, but it doesn’t fit my budget. I went and bought the Eisen Link for about half the price and I love them. Great review 👍
Have had these for a while now. They are fantastic. The only issue I have had is when all the plates are removed, I had the inner face on the handle of the acme rods bind on the face of the dumbell handle. I will probably make some gaskets to sit on that face. To your point about them not being around long enough that part availability could be an issue. These would be super easy to make. If a plate breaks, you could go through a site like Xometry and get new plates made fairly easily and cheaply. Then throw some flat head bolts in them and boom...new plates. Being easy to replicate is one of the reasons i like these so much.
I said it before and I’ll say it again. I love my Hoist dumbbells. I have the 45s and 75s except I am missing plates so mine are 40’s and 60’s but never the less They are heavy duty and are very quick to add or lessen the weight. I only paid 200 for both sets but they are very well built. I would recommend these Eisenlink without seeing them in person. Same concept as Hoist so I say yes!
I bought the base 75 lb Iron Master set with the stand for $500 brand new from Iron Master several years ago. This just show how much prices have increased since 2020.
Pre-pandemic Ironmaster had sales and it was very easy to get what you needed, things got super crazy and while prices are higher, at least stock seems to finally be back. But like you, I paid significantly less for both my kettlebell and dumbbells from Ironmaster.
Yea I bought the 75ib set and the 120ib add on kit back around 2018 and it wasn't much more than what the 75ib set is selling for now. Also IM no longer throws in the stand for free. You have to buy it separate.

Just the right time for this video! I've found these dumbells recently and I wished for a review from Coop to decide whether or not to buy them 🎉 thank you!
One thing I also REALLY love about Ironmaster is their ecosystem- they have Quick-lock adjustable kettlebell and mace handles, as well as expansion packs and a heavy handle set, which is put on the inside of the handle and makes it less of an unwieldy longer handle
Coop, you should check out the FitRx Smartbell XL. It's basically the lowest cost adjustable dumbbell I've found going from 10-90lbs in 5lb increments for around $150 per dumbbell with a quick-change style design. I doubt the quality is very good, and it's likely not durable in any way, but it seems like the absolute lowest cost way to get the heaviest weight besides maybe plate-loaded handles, so I'd be interested to see a review!
I'd like to see you review the Hoist Mi7 with the floating smith! These Dumbbells look great, love the ironmasters but found the changing a little more time consuming than I'd like being a powerblock user atm.
@@danfromga9696 use them roughly 4 times a week for over a month and zero signs of wear, less then a minute to change weight on both and with the option to buy a bigger pin and more weights I love it
If they don’t have a plate storage option, they should. I feel like having to lay them on the floor between sets would get annoying. But I’m super interested in the 160’s!
Hoist makes a really sweet looking single stack functional trainer with arms that also slide up and down. Compact, under $3K and seems very home-gym oriented. Mi5 check it out.
I've had these for a few months now. Mine go up to 110 pounds per dumbbell currently. I love my purchase, but I really want to point out the negatives that I think people should know before purchasing. #1 The long, thick handles do matter and truthfully are unwanted. The length a much bigger problem than the girth in my opinion. You will find out early that centering your hands on the handle is tantamount for a strong, successful lift. Sometimes, despite all efforts, you can still be a little off center, and you definitely feel it. These would really benefit from a heavy handle kit like the Ironmasters. The thickness does factor in on occasion, especially with curls, where I find I can't lift the same amount of weight as with other dumbbells. #2 Switching from the screws that go up to 80 pounds, and the longer ones that go up to 160 is a bit of a pain in the ass. #3 The design of the plates makes storage an issue. Ironmaster plates are basically square standard plates, which makes finding storage solutions a breeze. For these, get ready for a DIY project. I bought the Titan dumbbell stand for the Eisenlinks, but now I wish I had just bought the Ironmaster stand, as I think it would help in that department. I could go on and on, but again, I love my Eisenlinks. I'm thrilled with being able to go heavy and having access to 160 pound dumbbells in my home gym. If you can deal with the drawbacks, it's a steal for the money. A true buy it for life purchase.
The "nipple" points can be called registration points. That is what it's called when those shapes are added to 2+ part molds to make sure the sides line up properly for casting.
I have these. After almost a year of use i just bit the bullet and upgraded to the Snodes a80. I love how compact and solid the esenlink feels, althought their handle runs long and can feel awkward, but ultimately the time taking to change them inbetween sets or finding what is going to be your working set really kills the workout flow. Just save your money and get the fast adjustables.
I have not had great CS with Iron Master, ordered the SuperBench and the pad came with a long deep scuff. Their response was to let them know if it tears and they will take care it.
Hey Coop, can you use standard 1" or 2" olympic plates with these Eisenlinks? Would be kind of cool to maybe get some smaller increments using 1.25lb plates or go heavier using 25lb plates like a standard loadable dumbbell handle without having to buy the more expensive kits. Also, would love to see these and Iron Masters compared to the Kensui AdjustaBells MAX with the metal handles!
So for what it's worth these are the same style as the old Ironmaster, ironmaster moved away from this style because after a while plates could slip out. So that's something to consider, the Ironmasters cost more and actually take a bit longer to change but they are safer and have a better locking mechanism
I have identical dumbbells at my gym, but they are manufactured by Zipro. Really good equipment. So far, the best dumbbells I have at my gym. I made a whole video of them on my channel. Regards !
One major benefit to ironmaster that wasn't mentioned is the ecosystem that comes with it. You can literally build a full gym out of ironmaster dumbbells and plates. Whether you are thinking of getting that upfront or want the option to add down the line, ironmaster is a system that is well worth building a gym around
Saw these online the other day and thought the pricing was great but man I would just not mentally be comfortable with that U plate design. The construction looks solid, the "aesthetic" is nice and refined without that clunky/bulky look but I would just be paranoid the whole time I'm using them a plates gonna smack me in the face (to be fair their "connecting" tab and using the dumbbells with the gap facing down would virtually eliminate that possibility). I will say though, lesser known "company" or not this design does lend to more accessible repairs long term vs say a selectorized/dial system; you could take parts have them re-welded, have someone thread a new end cap etc. so the simplicity in the mechanics is nice - there's not really much to break or cause issue! Also would love to see some Hoist fitness content! I sold Hoist equipment for years and love their quality of equipment, their in home warranties are also fantastic - they do have some quirks in design for certain pieces but man they feel solid and so well constructed!
Yeah I have these, there's zero chance of the plates accidentally falling off. If you forget to tighten the screw, the plates will rattle noticeably as soon as you handle the weight. And the pins locking the plates together have about 1/8" of engagement, which requires nearly a full turn of the screw to loosen.
These are a branded version of a Chinese dumbbell, they actually have kettlebell handles and barbells that the plates are compatible with. They go up to 120kg too per dumbell. Unfortunately there's no ez curl bar yet
Coop! Can you review the Titan Fitness assisted pull up and dip machine?!? 999$! Looks awesome! Flybird has one for 400$ but looks kind of cheap, and PowerTec has one but it has a super long lever arm to attach the weights so it takes up a ton of room. Thanks Coop!
Hi, great channel and information only HUGE problem for me in Australia i can't order half of your top recommendations since the companies won't deliver here :(
Those were some convincing drop tests. I have an Italian adjustable DB set from Kingsgym. Very nice but the durability is nowhere near what I just saw.
Coop, I can imagine some portion of your followers are service members or veterans. I think it’d be awesome if you briefly stated if and what percent companies offer off for service members. That’s the exact reason I went with iron masters over other brands. They offer 10% off for military and allow you to stack the % off they already offer for buying over a certain dollar amount.
I also have an unrelated equipment question. I have limited space for equipment so I'm trying to be a minimalist as possible. Do you think a rackable ez curl bar could double as a cambered bar for bench press? Or could a cambered bar double as an ez curl bar? Thanks in advance.
What's the benefit to low start weight? Small dumbbells are cheap. I'd rather have fixed dumbbells up to 25lbs or so, and adjustables that start at 30lbs and go up heavier with greater durability. So many of the weaknesses in adjustable dumbbells come from chasing low start weight. I would personally love to see something like the Ironmaster or this with the handle's plates thickened up to make it start at 30lbs (like the Ironmaster heavy handle kit, but heavier and all one welded piece instead of a clamp-on). A handful of fixed dumbbells at the small end of the range are cheap and don't take up much space, and would let the adjustables go heavier, where they save space and money versus buying heavy fixed dumbbells.
I know what you both mean... What might be better or best maybe isn't easy to market. People like the idea of just a set of two even if there are compromises. Personally I agree that having a few lighter pairs of dumbbells is tolerable if that allows for a better heavier design but the mass market (sort of a pun here, double meaning) probably would object. I personally see some advantage in a 5-50# set and a 55-100# set or heavier but it would probably be hard to market as you almost have to have a set and use it to really see the upsides and downsides. It's the heavy bells that cost big money so I'm with the original comment on sacrificing some at the lower end to get more at the top end and just having some lighter solid bells but most want a slicker but lighter solution... I still think some manufacturer could try a two set approach and that might be more marketable... At least the two he's comparing here have a high top weight unlike a lot of the adjustable dumbbells. In a way you're both right...as am I!
A pair of the iron master 120 lbs for $650 or a pair of 90 lbs powerblocks with a rep fitness incline bench for $550? I got to drive 3 hours one way for the iron masters but the PBs are probably 20 minutes away.
For me it was price. I was able to get the 80lb equivalent. Bought 50lb and then the upgrade plates to get to 80lb. Total from amazon with tax etc came to ablout $256 USD for everything. Also the thicker handle is a good compromise from having to train with fat gripz. Now I need empty garage again to restart my workouts.
Coop i have been looking at the Hygym Multi Gym Squat Rack, Think it will be ok? Amazon will not deliver the Fitness Reality Squat Rack to where i live. 300 kg weight capacity & a lat pull down not sure on the build quality though
The open slide makes me nervious for the adjustment... mainly cause I can very much see someone not tightening it enough and then face planting themselves lol. Still wantt hem.
I have standard microplates from micro gains. Would you be able to add microplates to the ends of these? Non-magnetic. You would have to insert them through the rod.
I workout 3 times a week at a nearby Target sporting goods dept while wife shops. Cheap and saves space. Never been bothered by employees, but some customers laugh ( then go home to their $900 home gym)
I will note that Eisenlink's US and EU/JP versions have different max loads due to the plates being either 5 lbs (US) or 2 kg (EU/JP) - which makes the US version hold about 27% more mass per plate, leading to a max weight of 160 lbs (72.6 kg) instead of the 65 kg (143.3 lbs) of the EU/JP variant, because they all require 28 plates to max out, regardless if it's the 5 lbs or 2 kg plate version. At least that's what their storefront leads me to believe. It could be that one version is mislabeled and has a slightly different weight than advertised. I don't yet own one so I can't check their weight myself. If correctly labeled, it's an odd choice, since it makes the US version strictly superior to the EU/JP one and thus undermines their own product for those that would care to notice. Ironmaster, on the other hand, simply sells the same weights in all regions and prints both kg and lbs on all of them... for about 150% of the price. I do wonder if Ironmaster's weight vest would be compatible with Eisenlink plates. The difference is exactly one centimeter (the EU/JP Eisenlink plates are 17.5 cm and Ironmaster 16.5 cm), so perhaps the material has enough give to allow for practical compatibility? Since the Ironmaster plates are supposed to stack two at a time, the added thickness should provide enough width for at least one Eisenlink plate instead of the normal two Ironmaster ones. I'm tempted to get one of those vests once I have my Einsenlink db's, since it's probably the best option for something compatible, but that's only going by theory and pictures online.
Grip at @5:33 is enough to sway me away from purchasing these and essentially all of the adjustable dumbells on the market. The length of the bar is too long in comparison to where the weight is located. It's probably no issue with low weight, but once you up those numbers, I see issues coming into play. Single weight dumbells provide better ergonomics to center and balance the weight correctly in your hands. I can see how some people like these and if they work for them thats great. I may be in the minority of those who prefer plain jane dumbells.
Exact same as far as I can tell. Atletica also has a model that is the same. All three seem to be buying it from a single supplier and rebranding them. Zipro appears to be the cheapest
Damnit coop I was saving up for these now everyone is going to jump on them and it’s going to go out of stock. Damn you and your sheer animal charisma, damn your Superman jawline, and damn your quality content.
wait for powerblocks to go on sale on woot i got a pair of 1-50s for 200 and the expansion pair for 70, putting a pair of 1-70 powerblocks at about $300 shipped and could have upgraded to 90lb set for only 70 more. no better dollar per pound deal
@@joshlay447 these look a bit nicer honestly, but my option was powerblocks AND a incline rogue bench or just these for the same money, and ... you know what i picked lol
@@FancyLife of course, saves money and power blocks plus the bench is a good foundation. With the addition of a large mirror, the home gym can truly begin.
I got these a while back and theyve been solid. Get the 50s then upgrade as needed. $375 for the pair is not bad. They are a bit chunky with the long handle and wide plate but all the pros outweigh the few cons. Also the price is just another brainer. Im concerned about the business going away too but at the same time the durability of these seem like I wont have a problem anytime soon. Thanks for the review and for confirming I didn’t threw away my money hahaha.
Those are just slightly less clunky standard dumbbels you get for basically nothing. It's just plates you put on a grip yourself. I like the, admitedly expensive, rotary set I got where you can just choose the weight and they pick it up themselves. You cant drop any of those though, thats a real drawback.
Arg, I had these in my cart when they were first introduced and they were less than 200 bucks a piece for the 80 lb as memory serves. And then I decided I didn't need to get another set of dumbbells. I've been kicking myself ever since once the price went up (even though they're still a great deal).
Coop still changing plates on the Ironmasters by flipping the handles on their head 😢 Probably the most inefficient way to use them. Ive got from the handles to 120 and never flipped it on its head.
It costs $220 in china to get 100lb * 2, and it sells pretty well. They basically order those things from factories in China and resell. Based on the comments in china I see, I wouldn't say they are of high quality. BTW, a lot of people complain about the large handle, and the handle is pretty long compared to normal dumbbells. I recommend powerblock. It's safe, durable, and easy to use.
Shipping is what kills any decision for me when it comes to gym equipment. Same goes for Iron Masters, which is why I went with Eisenlink. Where shipping is either free or a small percentage of the total cost. I have no problems with them.
I bought a set of these a week ago because of your review Mike, cause Coop didn't have a review yet. This just reinforces the fact I made a good decision. So happy with them so far. Thanks!
It seems to me that the Eisenlink quick change is superior. $220 is real money to me. That is better than 30% less for an arguably superior product. The only thing I think IronMaster has over them is the reputation of the company.
Powerblocks are soo bad. It's one of the cheapest options, and you pay for it with the dumb cage set up. Get the iornmaster is soo much better. Realistically you not going to sell them for at least 5 years, and when you do, you'll get your most of your money back on face book market
@@oscarbear7498 I have been using Powerblocks for about 10 years, but anything over 50 lbs becomes too bulky. Thanks for reporting in! - Coop
@@GarageGymReviews I have been afraid to drop them but after this video I feel way better about it
@@GarageGymReviews Thanks for reporting in on his reporting in! - Not Coop
Not really. Use that time as a rest between sets. It’s not difficult to count by 5s
I have not had great CS with Iron Master, ordered the SuperBench and the pad came with a long deep scuff. Their response was to let them know if it tears and they will take care it.
WOWSERS.....thanks for posting this bro...
Dang, that's not great to hear. Thanks for the info though! - Coop
Also, would love to see these and Iron Masters compared to the Kensui AdjustaBells MAX with the metal handles!
the heavy handle kit is also a big plus for the ironmasters and makes a heavy dumbbell a lot smaller
Yes, I love the heavy handle kit. It's on mine permanently.
I’ve got a old set of LS adjustable dumbells which are the same, up to 160lbs. Never had any trouble.
Hoist leg ex/seated leg curl and pulldown/seated row machine are good with relatively small footprint. Surprised not in more home gyms.
Not to mention ironmaster also includes their stand
@@mattthomas2573 Agree. Also can do 2.5lb plates and 1.25lb plates for small incremental weight changes
@@mattthomas2573 Not anymore. They stopped including the stand a little while back. It's a separate purchase now.
@@Matt34677 yeah I actually just saw that after I posted this. I got mine a few years back when it came with the stand. I love it
Sold as "Zipro" as well. Got mine for ~$300.
Was really pleasently surprised that these sell in EU. Even cheaper than in the US.
If they come out with an ez bar to use the same plate system like Ironmaster, I’m in.
These are a branded version of a Chinese dumbbell, they actually have kettlebell handles and barbells that the plates are compatible with. They go up to 120kg too per dumbell. Unfortunately there's no ez curl bar yet
@@liquiddnb1305
Can you tell me the name of Chinese ones?
A comparison of the EISENLINK with the EISENHAND Power Dumbbell would be great
Ever tried the ATLETICA SWITCH adjustable dumbbells? If not, could you possible review them?
Nope, I'll take a look! - Coop
Hey Coooooop, what table (or stand) are you using to keep off the floor?
Hi, great channel and information only HUGE problem for me in Australia i can't order half of your top recommendations since the companies won't deliver here :(
Would like to see a review of IFast, similar dumbbell but they have a hex option and kettlebell
Those were some convincing drop tests. I have an Italian adjustable DB set from Kingsgym. Very nice but the durability is nowhere near what I just saw.
Hey Coop when you gonna make the perfect adjustable dumbbells?💪
Just got a pair for $309 Canadian shipped from Amazon - massive discount compared to what you were saying here!
I JUST HAD MY IRONMASTER DUMBBELLS ARRIVE TODAY FFS HAHAHA
You won't regret them, they're godly.
How you like em?
thanks for the review.
Cus they want beginners to buy them.
But hey if you see the market for them talk to a metal shop and get started?
I know what you both mean...
What might be better or best maybe isn't easy to market.
People like the idea of just a set of two even if there are compromises.
Personally I agree that having a few lighter pairs of dumbbells is tolerable if that allows for a better heavier design but the mass market (sort of a pun here, double meaning)
probably would object.
Will they fit on the Super Bench PRO V2 Cable Tower attachment??
For me it was price. I was able to get the 80lb equivalent. Bought 50lb and then the upgrade plates to get to 80lb. Total from amazon with tax etc came to ablout $256 USD for everything.
Also the thicker handle is a good compromise from having to train with fat gripz.
Now I need empty garage again to restart my workouts.
could you please do the "Power Rack Tier List"
Coop i have been looking at the Hygym Multi Gym Squat Rack, Think it will be ok? Amazon will not deliver the Fitness Reality Squat Rack to where i live. 300 kg weight capacity & a lat pull down not sure on the build quality though
you gotta review the anyoker adjustable dumbbells now lol $70?!?!?!
The open slide makes me nervious for the adjustment... mainly cause I can very much see someone not tightening it enough and then face planting themselves lol.
Still wantt hem.
Is there anywhere to get the eisenlink long pins in canada?
great video! can you review the new Eleiko competition collars that just came out??
I have standard microplates from micro gains. Would you be able to add microplates to the ends of these? Non-magnetic. You would have to insert them through the rod.
I workout 3 times a week at a nearby Target sporting goods dept while wife shops. Cheap and saves space. Never been bothered by employees, but some customers laugh ( then go home to their $900 home gym)
I was wondering why the prices on these doibled since my purchase about a year ago. 😅
Glad to see these got reviewed by the Coopster.
Will we be getting an update on the Rogue functional trainer?
I can see the long handles being problematic for curls and tricep exercises
Can you review their lat pulldown and seat attachment ❤
He said it was too high for him to reach :/
Coop, you should check out the Zipro Adjustable Dumbbells, is cheper than the Eisenlink.
Exact same as far as I can tell. Atletica also has a model that is the same. All three seem to be buying it from a single supplier and rebranding them. Zipro appears to be the cheapest
Is there something like this, but for pull-ups?
Damnit coop I was saving up for these now everyone is going to jump on them and it’s going to go out of stock. Damn you and your sheer animal charisma, damn your Superman jawline, and damn your quality content.
wait for powerblocks to go on sale on woot
i got a pair of 1-50s for 200 and the expansion pair for 70, putting a pair of 1-70 powerblocks at about $300 shipped and could have upgraded to 90lb set for only 70 more. no better dollar per pound deal
@@FancyLife you…. have an excellent point there.
Review theirs and iron master kettlebells
I can't believe i haven't already bought 5 dumbbells
Those are just slightly less clunky standard dumbbels you get for basically nothing. It's just plates you put on a grip yourself.
I like the, admitedly expensive, rotary set I got where you can just choose the weight and they pick it up themselves.
You cant drop any of those though, thats a real drawback.
Those handles in length look SO LONG compared to “normal dumbbells” - I’d love to measure the distance on these vs say an IGX pro style DB
If you go to their website they have all the specs.
I reviewed ifast. Price is no where close to these (much higher) and they are legit the exact same
Arg, I had these in my cart when they were first introduced and they were less than 200 bucks a piece for the 80 lb as memory serves. And then I decided I didn't need to get another set of dumbbells. I've been kicking myself ever since once the price went up (even though they're still a great deal).
Do the real budget heavy king Kensui Adjustabell MAX the metal ones
Second this.
Can you help me a company or website from China that sells them? Thank you.
@@sesaydeen Just Impossible, shipping 200lbs from china to us is too expensive.
Thanks!
@@JasonShan24 My production pales in comparison to these larger channels so I’m glad I was able to help you out. Thanks for tuning in!!
I remember the old Hoist version

Review the IM2000
It seems to me that the Eisenlink quick change is superior. $220 is real money to me. That is better than 30% less for an arguably superior product. The only thing I think IronMaster has over them is the reputation of the company.
What the heck is iFast dumbells?
I wonder why they made that large handle, which is really unusable for people with regular hands.
Well... have a look at the Miweba vh200.
LMNT needs to have LMNT in the background
Just sayin 😂
3:30 since when is better knurling a "minor feature"?
How unwieldy do they feel compared to something like PowerBlock?
Powerblocks are soo bad. It's one of the cheapest options, and you pay for it with the dumb cage set up.
Get the iornmaster is soo much better. Realistically you not going to sell them for at least 5 years, and when you do, you'll get your most of your money back on face book market
@@oscarbear7498 I have been using Powerblocks for about 10 years, but anything over 50 lbs becomes too bulky. That is why I want the comparison to Powerblocks, "more unwieldy" may still be a better feel than what I am used to.
Eisenlink's website has a few red flags to me so I will probably just save up for IronMasters anyway, but it is nice to have a complete picture of the options.
powerblock is better
Yeah well your mustache sucks!!! Ironmasters are superior to all!
Just kidding keep up the great work man.
