La ciudad se convirtió en el blanco de un ataque del Covenant durante la Caída de Reach en 2552, lo cual desembocó en la Batalla de Nueva Alejandría, la que duró cinco días. Aunque varios transportes civiles evacuaron exitosamente la ciudad gracias a los esfuerzos de Noble Seis, finalmente la ciudad fue cristalizada por el Covenant.
