Kurt always had the look of someone who didn't care nor wanted to put the effort in. In reality that wasn't the case at all. I've watched dozens of his shows and he always put in 100% whether under the influence of something or not. It amazes me of how much he tries especially while singing. So many singers just breeze through their lyrics and hit the harder notes when they decide to. Kurt tries everytime, just listen to the ending of this video and you'll see for yourself. He's the epitome of what an artist is capable of.

@@shadowedge729 I've noticed he changes tone for filming / tv broadcasts alot, and it does sounds considerably better, but he lets loose and has different eq's on live shows mostly for catering to the concert hall acoustics.There has never been any Nirvana show i've heard where the tone sounds exactly the same to a different one, all of them sound different.

He's not high, that's just how he plays. You don't have to look happy while playing. You could look bored as fuck and still say that concert was amazing. Though it was almost April, I think 93-94 Nirvana sounded the best but 91-92 had more energy.
Have you seen the photo of him with a fan after the show? He was on a binge in France because of Courtney not showing up on Valentine's Day. Dude was blasted during all the French shows.

Weird how people had tolerance for intelligent music in 1994 and even embraced it sometimes: AiC; Nirvana; Soundgarden; Slayer; Rollins Band; Butthole Surfers; Melvins; etc.
This works only to play the main riff. If you are going to play the whole song you'd better play the riff I referred on my last comment with the pedal off (in clean mode), because the chorus riff is with distortion. So if you had the pedal activated with 0 of distortion as I said, the pedal will be already pressed and you won't be able to enter to chorus' distortion.

An interesting fact is that you'll never find footage of him using the Fiesta Red one because Fender was sending a prototype of it to him but he sadly was murdered before he could ever see it.
