I'm going again in three weeks so I'm hoping for the same interaction. They were everywhere and not a single one was on the floor.

They are an incredible species that gets a horrible rap almost always from mistaken identity. Seals instead of paddling surfboarders, something yummy in very murky water... And oceanic white tips are NO DIFFERENT. Some of my friends are researchers that are always in shark week; you may be entitled to your opinions, but not your own FACTS.

@@BetsyGood If I hadn't believed all this stuff for years on how certain sharks are dangerous man eaters I would have went on dives like this years ago but now I'm almost 65 so not likely even though my health is still good. Tiger sharks (reputedly one of those man eaters) seem quite docile if you just let them.
That's an amazing goal, I always wanted to be a marine biologist as a kid too but I ended up going into Culinary and now I'm getting a degree in teaching language and speech therapy.
One time on a trip I was swimming off the shore of Catalina Island and I got to have the experience of swimming alongside some small sharks. Definitely one of the coolest things I've ever done. I wish humans didn't kill so many sharks.
It is a suckerfish, you are correct! But the type is called a remora. It's actually a parasite, but the relationship is symbiotic. The remora cleans the shark (I have some footage of them cleaning the teeth in a wide open mouth!) and in turn the shark let's them feed off its scraps. But if they annoy the shark, they're donesies. 😂

I love diving like that. The attention was more on that giant boat in such shallow waters - like WTF?!?? I always had at least 15m under me this doesn't even look like 3m! Very daredevil but surely chillaxing new divers.
Yeah, it was a weird trip, but the next time I went was incredible. I think it also looks even closer from the fisheye lens, but it was legit about 30 feet tops. Prolly 25. 😳

Agreed; however, I come from a school of thought that says to disturb your underwater environment, especially the creatures, as little as is possible. I have wanted to rub their heads forever, but when humans start to interact with wildlife, their behavior inevitably changes and often to its detriment. Still... totally agree with you!!! It's just why I personally don't do it. 😊
I love sharks. They are not as aggressive as people think they are. If they attack it is because you really pissed them off or they thought you were a seal or sea turtle. There have been very few cases of sharks actually acting people for no reason. Although just in my opinion I would stay away from great whites, bull sharks, tiger sharks, and black tips as they are the one who if they do attack for some random reason it would be them. 🦈🏝🐠🐟🌊
I have a video of those amazing things. Man... Even in a cage the feeling that you get when a giant great white looks you square in the eye and starts swimming toward you is like nothing else in the world. LOVE.

I tell ya, all of our greatest machines was inspired by god's creatures. That shark looks like a armed fighter jet. The little fish attached to the underside of the shark looks like missiles and fuel tanks under the fighter jets wing.
One of my videos shows several cleaning their eyes, and even one within an open-mouthed shark resting on the bottom so it could clean its TEETH!!! True story. They're so cool.

Hi! It's off the west coast of the Bahamas. A group of us get on a big boat and go into the middle of the ocean and stay there on the boat for a week. The dive site is called Tiger Beach.

The fish eats other small parasites off of the shark which cleans the shark and feeds the fish. Kinda cool, yeah? 😊
Yes, that's a Lemon. They're in a lot of my videos and would photobomb me to death if I had the nerve to focus on a Tiger instead. Like they were saying, "The NERVE of this girl!! We'll show her." It was too funny to even care about ruined shots.
