This footage shows me face-to-face with the very open mouth of a Lemon Shark while it gets its teeth cleaned by little remoras, and goes on to show just how comfortable we both are with one another with them bumping me and letting me get some extreme close-ups. No aggression, just curiosity and interest. Even as close as they got, and even face-to-face, there was never cause to worry. They must be respected as being apex "predators" of the ocean, but respected and appreciated does not equate to fear. Meet the most misunderstood animal in the world, and then ask yourself if they are the simple eating machines that their reputation often brings.
