I’m tired of my 2020 Volvo Idle shutdown signal/beeping every 7 minutes I can’t even sleep when I feel cold also I watch so many videos but didn’t work for me?
Good video.. I would like to add though that if you are gonna idle, especially long periods always bump it up to 1,000 RPM. In diesels the higher RPM gives you a better combustion of the fuel which can prevent glazing of the cylinders overtime. I know people get pissed about it but that’s why drivers do it. Anytime I idle I bump mine up.
For 2022 Volvo semi truck there's 2 ways you could do it I gotta 8 60 22 and I've seen a dime on a 2023 Volvo simmer.. **1) OK for the 1st method they're almost identical but both of them work on 22 and 23 so the 1st one hit the CC , now hit the up button where you set there's in the middle right below the CC , then hit the gas pedal just a simple tap of the gas pedal…. Now you will see it say I don't shut down canceled... **2) OK the 2nd message method works on the 22 and 2023... Hit the CC then right below that hit the up button 3 times up, Then hit the button below which is the cancel resume button all 3 of these buttons are in the middle on the left side of the Stanville the CC then the set button which goes up or down you would say that if you're in a cruise control, thenThe council resume button is right below that all of that is in the middle on the left side of the stereo it's very easy to see... ***( I like the 1st method that I mentioned that works all the time for me alright, It works just perfect never had a problem with it not working the only thing is none of the methods are permanent it's just for the time being so if you wanna you're some place you need to idle all night for whatever reason whatever the reason is thenOnce you set it then you'll see that idle canceled message will come up there where the computer is and you're good to go it'll even stay there for a moment and then it'll go away or you can tap it away on with the right side button either way, It works all the time every time for me in a Volvo 8 60 20 22 or 2023 I've seen it done soh this will work all night And it will go back Won't you get up in the middle of the night or the next morning to resume driving I don't care where you're going cross the parking lot once you start driving it is going to go back into the regular items shut down so anytime you want an idol Volvo has the computer fixed to wWhere you can stop the idle shutdown for that once onedistance but once you resume driving I don't care if it's 10 yd across the parking lot it will resume back to the actual idle shut down procedure once you stop!!! This is how Volvo has the new computers set up you can believe me or you cannot believe me I'm 25 years in always had nothing but volvo's I've driven all the trucks but for my own trucks nothing but volvo's under my own authority and for the last 6 years I have had nothing but Volvo's of 2015 was my 1st under my own authority 2020 , and now a 2022 so I know what I'm talking about before I even buy the trucks I sit there in go through the computer and everything with my own machines/ Diesel computers And I look at the particular book that comes with that particular year Volvo...) As a side note you have to take your time and do it it may take 2 or 3 × 2 actually do it correctly so you might be doing one step too fast like the last step hitting the gas pedal wait a second then hit the gas pedand it will do it you will see the sign right in front of you I don't shut down canceled... I’ve got a 2023 Volvo VNL. I’ve tried every way possible based on the videos I saw and I cannot find a way to override it. The other night I accidentally got it to cancel but I’m wondering if it had to do with the outside temperature. Does anybody know if the outside temperature has anything to do with being able to cancel it
Sweet!!! now have you figured out how to keep your side windows clean during rain, wet roads it’s worse in the winter time with the salt on the roads. I can’t see out the windows to see out the mirrors to change lanes. I have to roll down my windows and it’s with our whole fleet and I’m sure every other Volvo on the road.

It won’t work on every Volvo (FYI Same procedure for Freightliner). Anywho, the Electronics Control Module (ECM) which is the Main brain computer on your truck is what the dealer and company plugs into, your carrier can disable “driver override” on it this you would have to hit the throttle every single time the engine shut down alarm goes off. Mine is set at 30 minutes. But good video otherwise.
Bumping the idle up doesn't always work, my company has their trucks set up so that the engine idles for 3 minutes and then it shuts off, even if you bump up the rpms or push in the yellow valve. Lucky for me the truck has an APU on it so I don't have to worry about idling the engine wasting fuel, not to mention that in many areas it is illegal to idle the engine more than 5 minutes, and it's a very easy ticket for the cops to write!

Put it in high idle, and when it starts to shut down tap the gas. Wait till it tries to shutdown again, tap the gas again, should now idle
