Very detailed and precise! Thank you Fred! I was the user from forum who asked for help. I did this last night in my real project I work on, but your explanation gave me a deeper knowledge about block property so now i know more then I knew before... Great job! Hope more people will use this in their projects! I'll share this with some of my colleagues who will use it for sure.. Thanks again!

This video solved a struggle I tried to resolve in my project for several days now in vain. Thank you very much for the easy to understand, detailed explanation.

I am glad that it helped you and thank you for sending me a comment!
I also struggled with this topic for a long time, V2.9 was a big improvement in the area of Block Properties.

A constructive comment. On the coil, I would use Function Text (Automatic) instead of Function Text (Common) to display the Path Function Text. In this basic use case, they are the same, but Automatic and Common have a different meaning for Function Texts within EPLAN. Explaining here might prove lengthy.

You are welcome, I myself learned this from Luc@STLM.ca and when I saw your question I though that it was time to share with others. The new version of EPLAN certainly helps take a lot of the mystery out of this process which used to be quite confusing.

Thanks a lot, Fred for your public acknowledgment of the time we spent together discussing this topic. I like how you express that knowledge simply into your videos, so I can only say, keep up the good work, and I'm always happy to help you as a dear friend by passing on deeper knowledge on to you.

Could it be used for search the very last function in plc connection point? I know ther is the Symbolic adress determined, but this atribute show only the full DT and I need for IO export to split it to different columns , as function, mounting location and DT without project structures.

The reason you could not see the value of Block Property format [10] when adding it to the "Display" on the Lamp, is simply because you had not yet clicked "Apply" ;-)

i have noticed on your screen that the display box for 'property name' is populated by both text and relative number, please could you let me know where the setting is to change this?

EPLAN Properties ID: Very handy when trying to locate properties on forms.
Options > Settings > User > Display > User Interface: Display Identifying numbers

Thank you for your valuable video. But I have 1 problem. In popup of Block Properties, I can't see the name of device in related element. For example, in your video, there is the description of the lamp following the element Function - Function (=+-H23x1X1 (Lamp, single) /1.3), but in mine it just show Function. The same issue with "Target via connection point and target number". Is it because of version 2.7. What is version of your?

Yes, the advanced features you see in the video are updates to EPLAN V2.8 and newer versions.
