So what kind of coupling or pvc nipple do you use for the 3 inch bulkhead?

I haven't used one of a fitting that size yet but it would be the same type of coupling / nipple but in a 3" size? I mainly use 1" and 1.5" and 2" fittings.

@@GrantBurton now that I have more experience I realize what a newbie question I asked, bulkheads are 2 inch threaded

Hi Cobus, do you mean installing the valve before the elbow? Why would the valve always need to be installed first?

@@GrantBurton I guess he means that the water will apply pressure on the elbow when the valve is closed. I don't know if it can cause any real damadge though.

I don’t foresee that ever being a problem, those fittings can withstand way more pressure than the water in these types of tanks would ever apply.
