Yeah that was weird, they didn't answer his question at all and just went down the Sad Story path that they didn't wind up needing -- they were already golden!
@@rileywebster5632 I was so weird that I suspect this was just poor editing. They probably did answer the question, and somehow it evolved into this story, with the actual answer being cut out.

I don't think I've ever seen five offers at the terms asked by the entrepreneurs before. Well done Charlotte and Shaun and I wish you every success with your new partners of Tej and Peter.

I don't understand why more entrepreneurs don't do this. They didn't ask for a lot of money, and they didn't have to give up a large percentage. So many people come in wanting hundreds of thousands of dollars without offering enough of the business to make the dragons want to give up that kind of investment. The dragons will fund you down the road if it's needed to keep the business going, so why would you ask for so much up front?
These people knew what they were doing. Ask for a little bit of money, so you don't have to give up a huge percentage, and just get the dragon on board. It's not like they won't fund purchase orders down the road if need be, you just have to get them into the business.
I would argue it depends on the investment goals. Sometimes you do need a bigger chunk to get ball rolling depending on what you're trying to do. But their product is a dried good, in a small eco-friendly package with a long shelf-life. I was a little surprised they didn't ask about competition... I guess it tasted really good.
Yes dragons active investors and some companies do offered them percentage just to get them into their businesses

Well done the other dragons who were rebbuffed early after there offers ,normally when this happens the other dragons declare themselves out ,and are a bit bitter but here they were nice and respectfull .

Extremely weak move by tej. This was just an attempt to deflate peters ego but he succumbed immediately when he could have just agreed to it originally. It was a good offer and he had nothing to lose. Came off extremely weak in the end.

I wish they tried to counter offer 100k for 10%. Probably will still get diluted later on anyway. But I guess 25k for 3% is a good deal yet

Couldn't they accept both offers of 5% and get double the investment, or is that not allowed?
They should have sold them both 5,000 for 50% and just giving up 10% and had more money
Rumour has it that after heading back down the lift after filming, Evan Davis would not let the pair leave the set until he had sniffed both of their farts, despite their many protests.
