I would LOVE if everyone got a cover, or if we got duet covers here!

When this was shown on stream, I legit went "...did they switch up the units for ochame and this?". Still think both of these are weird decisions but oh well. Its a good cover, nothing to complain about outside the usual "where are the duets?" and "why tf is miku here?"
for me, this fits quite well to be honest. (apologies for thoughts dumping here lmao, but I had this saved up for so long) the thing about covers is that they usually place them accordingly to each unit's theme, even if it's the opposite of that theme. a good example of such cover are Leo/Need's Ikanaide (one of their unit theme is finding each other again, and Ikanaide is literally the opposite of that). This gives each unit more flexibility in song genres and not just throw all the sad songs to Nightcord (looking at all the people saying Darling Dance belongs to Nightcord), and sometimes showing off an aspect of themselves in the past, before all this character development happens in the game. In this case, MMJ has a theme of 'hardwork pays off' and it shows in some of their covers and commissioned songs, and the opposite of that is that their hard work doesn't matter, which the song is mostly about if I'm reading the lyrics is right. Minori and Haruka have lines about not doing enough, and Shizuku and Airi have lines about noticing them. As cute as this song is, it's a song of defeat despite their perseverance, the opposite of their themes. So yeah, that's why I think this song really fits them a lot. If what you meant is how the song doesn't fit them musically then...I have nothing LMAO sorry
I think straight up lyrics wise, this song doesn't exactly fit anyone but it being not like dark but just hyper pessimistic and the quirky af music really make it wxs to me. Tho I can kinda see mmj for it. Ochame however is straight up a mmj song. Idm wxs in the end cause the cover is good but its really mmj. The VS choices for both of them are also rather poor even tho I like both dame miku and ochame len soundwise. Its a lot of "it doesn't really make sense but it sounds good so whatever, except miku getting a cover in a non miku song, that is always a crime" basically
we'll just have to agree to disagree at this point because i think the lyrics are quirky enough in ochama that it fits WxS more than MMJ. for the virtual singers...yeah, that one's a bit of a problem still. only thing i can tell is that they tend to use one VS heavily in so many songs before giving the others a chance, that's why there's this brief period of so many Meiko inclusions in the previous covers, and then now she's gone until a few months later.
They made dame mmj, knew that the cover before that is flos, a full unit mmj + miku and STILL made dame miku... meanwhile, mmj len has 0 covers and would've done great in dame. They've gotten a lot better with VS balancing in covers but stuff like this still remains a problem
Yeah, they don't really balance it per unit but by overall cover count, or at least I think that's how they do it. for them it doesn't really matter if MMJ Len doesn't have any covers meanwhile WxS and VBS Len has a lot, they're just worried about Len's overall total cover count. ttbh, i feel they're slowing cracking down on thise but like really slowly. for example, L/N Kaito doesn't have any cover if I remember, and it took a long while before WxS Kaito got one. Meiko had a LONG wait time to get a cover at all aside from Nostalogic (a launch cover) before she got Phony (2 years later). In a dev letter they say that the VS depends on the song and how they fit along with the group and they'll try to balance it in the future, but yeah i don't have hopes just cause of the large difference
