Having looked at the video I stacked up 80kg and went to try 100 lengths of the turf..... I ended up doing eighteen and having to stumble home nearly passing out. Man I love this thing
Holy smokes this is no joke! I started this just 5 days ago and I come home exhausted, hungry and yet feeling stronger and leaner. Plus good sleep too! Game changer.
You're cracking me up. I tried one of these things and fell in love with it. I prefer it to standard weight training for overall fitness and cardio improvement. Great video!
I'm 58. I've always moved furniture around the house by myself. I started using this @ my gym. Only could do 1 at first. My heart rate soared. Now I can do about 6 (up and back), but I rest in between, no plates. It is so fun, I do it instead of boring cardio and I keep an eye on my heart rate on my iwatch.
I was pushing 250 kg today & the owner of the gym said I was using to much on the prowler. Could I only stack it up to the height of the bar which would only be 100kg. I told her no, I won't use it again. I don't want to get weaker. Instead of gluing the mat down the screwed it down at the end & the mat was waving & buckling. I told her other gyms glue their mats down. Session was going well until she interrupted it. I loved it, as its helped gain power in my legs.
Slow is better. It’s better than running or rowing or w/e you think is better. Running is fine if you have great stride mechanics, but at the end of a session, you’ll love poorly. You can’t mess up the sled. Just push till you can’t, breathe, and start again. Set a timer for 15 min. That’s all it takes.
Found out my gym had one of these so I used it today. I was doing basketball court laps, back and forth, as I've never used one before. I pushed about 280lbs about 7-8 basketball court lengths before my quads started screaming. Did 10 minutes on a bike and I was out of there. This is entered into my regular routine from now on.
Sounds like you really worked hard. Good for you! Did you do a good cool down afterwards to help bring your heartrate down and to allow your CNS to reset?
@@CriticalBenchCompound I did it today. 1st time so i wasnt trying to kill myself. but BOY do i feel a difference. I did use it as a finisher as i did a couple 3 laps at my gym. I almost died afterwards. I cant wait for the day after tomorrow!!!!
Love to do gauntlet as a finisher with this thing. Pull it with a rope and push it back, then add a plate until you almost can't repeat and go back down on plates each time. Absolutely brutal
Could I use Sled training for hypertrofy purpose also? Combined with isolation exercises (arm curls, leg curls, dumbbells shoulder exercises etc). Greetings from Italy
This sled is designed to hold the weights as they are shown. It would be pretty tricky to try to balance them another way without them falling off the sled
If you are working out with someone you can have them stand on it. Some of my friends do this with weight plates already on it because they need more weight to be challenged.
But does the sled prowler build muscle and carryover to real life activities that requires pushing or pulling strength? Because I hear some people say that since it is a concentric type workout it doesn't build muscle, is this true?
@@CriticalBenchCompound I see. But will this also build real life strength that carryover to sports or activities that requires pushing or pulling someone or something? Even for manual labor?
Yesterday I used it for the first time. Feel in love with it. Now will this burn fat around my waist and stomach? I weigh 107 but in February I switched to a vegan diet. To my surprise I gained 10 lbs and around my waist and abdomen. I want to tone up will that help me burn that and tone the waist area
Sounds like your hip flexors are really tight. This might be a reaction to new training or your hip flexors are super tight. It might happen, but not necessarily a common thing. Work on flexibility and mobility. If the pain continues after a few days get it checked out.
Does anyone know if these are hard to spin around while loaded? I'm thinking of buying a used one but it only has push handles at the back so will need spun around 180 degrees after every length
Absolutely they should . . . if they want to include it in their programs. Both Coach Tonya and Samantha do the prowler and there i is nothing masculine about either of these ladies. This is a great way to hit MANY muscle groups for strength, toning and fat burning
Okay, let me ask you "how is your nutrition?" I mean no disrespect by this. The thing with building muscle and even with toning your midsection if your nutrition is off you will not be burning fat at the same rate as you would with great nutrition. Also, how is your sleep? Caffeine consumption? When we do not get a solid 6-8 hours of quality sleep or if we are consuming excessive amounts of caffeine our cortisol levels can become very high. Cortisol will "sit" around our midsection.

Glad you loved it!
YES I did this too and I almost passed out. 👍
If you can manage 18, add weight
I walk past this in the gym every week.... its time!
Yeah 💪 Let us know how it goes bro!
I like to finish my workout with this. After pushing 315lbs it's this strange mix of exhaustion and just feeling amazing.
Love hearing this!
Yeah I feel the same lol
Same for me!! ✌🏾
Me too. In my gym I rarely see people do it but it’s one of my favorite exercise

Thanks for justification
As a substitute for this workout, consider moving to Florida and using a push mower in the summertime.
I tried ours for the first time this week and I’ve been obsessed with it ever since. 🙌🏻
Great to hear!
Have access to 2 at my gym and i used today, gosh my heart didnt know what to do 😕
Awesome!
😂😂😂😂😂
Used one of these for the first time today. I done 25min on a spin bike then 6 lengths with the sled with 60kg weight on impressive bit of kit
Good job 💪🏻
@@CriticalBenchCompound thank you 😊. I'm sure I'll be aching later or tomorrow
My favorite piece of equipment.
Yeah . . . love it!
I’m good at this today at the gym, pulled a few tons for a quick warm up
awesome!
I always do this to my job in the grocery store to push some carts to consider as an exercise.
Any movement is better than no movement! 💪
I just started using this and I loved it ! Got my heart pumping and my muscles sore 💪
Great to hear!

It does the job. Excellent product.
Right on 💯
Great info, thanks. Going try this at gym tomorrow. Slow and steady...

Great video about an underrated gem
You could push the sled run back an pull with battle ropes
We've done that ... great exercise!
first time using it today, it kicked my ass. i felt like i had run a marathon after
john doe I just started doing these after lifting and I puked
My favourite workout
We love it too!!!~
Did this today phew its as tough as when I first started.
We love the sled!
My body recistencie increases so much since I star working out with the sled

We love reading comments like this!
I made one out of a Walmart shopping cart today lol
I tried this today did 90lbs I ran my hams where on fire. I was breathing heavy my heart rate was up. After I was finish my heart rate was still up

@@CriticalBenchCompound i rest for 60 seconds. After i was finish my heart rate was still up.
Best weight room exercise
I have only recently joined the Gym and discovered this workout
Definitely a finisher 🤦🏻♂️
Oh yeah! ✊
Wish me luck. I'm gonna try try this at Crunch tomorrow!!!
AWESEOME!

Sounds awesome and awful. Love it!
great video
Thanks!
Worst part of doing this exercise is having to put all the plates back.
Yes 😂
What about building Muceles is it good for that bodybuilding
Absolutely!
push one on an indoor rubber track 0.2 mile long with two plates. After, battle rope and burpee session. Hard but awesome work out
BEAST MODE!
Pushing a car on neutral works just the same way...
Thanks for your feedback : )
Gene is Xincuenta to add weight you just stick in in reverse and apply the hand break 😂
Could I use Sled training for hypertrofy purpose also? Combined with isolation exercises (arm curls, leg curls, dumbbells shoulder exercises etc). Greetings from Italy
Yes, absolutely
It builds muscle in a similar way to extremely intense cardio
Is there other ways you can put your weights on the sled

If you are working out with someone you can have them stand on it. Some of my friends do this with weight plates already on it because they need more weight to be challenged.
Are there any gyms similar to your facility
Are these 2 inch weight plates
Im 18 and managed to push 160kg twice
Wow! That's amazing!
Would it be able to use on the streets?
You might want to find an empty parking lot
But does the sled prowler build muscle and carryover to real life activities that requires pushing or pulling strength? Because I hear some people say that since it is a concentric type workout it doesn't build muscle, is this true?
I would disagree with this, pushing weights is going to build muscles even without the eccentric component.
@@CriticalBenchCompound I see. But will this also build real life strength that carryover to sports or activities that requires pushing or pulling someone or something? Even for manual labor?
how long is your turf? Debating about installing but dont know if 35-40 ft is worth it
Hey there ... our green turf is 20 yards. That is around 60 ft.
I have Kettlebells. Could I put a kettlebell on that and push it? Rather than buy all new weights with the sled 🛷.
Have someone stand on it. Then work your way up to a heavier person.
My trainer pmo this recently had no idea it would be this hard
Harder than it looks!
@@CriticalBenchCompound definitely it gets you tired FAST
I am not fit by any means but somehow I pulled sled 200kg is that average or ok. Coz people were looking at me when I was doing it I cycle abit so idk
Good job!
Worse thing about it is ACCESS to one. Not an exercise that can be easily substituted is it
Are these 2 inch plates you use
Yes
What kind of weight plates you use for the prowler sled
Choose weights that challenge you but also allow you to complete the exercise. These are standard bar plates
Were can I buy them
I like to combine this with medicine ball slams at the end of my workouts. Very demanding.
Sounds awesome!
This will definitely help to burn off unwanted body fat
Does it works yourchest?
It targets more your glutes, quads, hammies, calves and core
Just say "yes"
Did a leg day and did this it hurts to sit up is that normal

@@ayy234 Thanks man, this one doesn't, it's a weird one, but I'm gonna buy the fucking thing anyway!
Well that would depend on the weight you loaded on to it.
Tie a rope around the sled and pull it back as shown @2:11 then just walk around the sled at every length to repeat the push. Great workout 👍🏽
Very intense workout. You feel like you are gona pass out.
Oh yes! Feel free to do the exercises at your own pace buddy 👍 No pressure!
Hi, do you need or is recommended to use a deadlifting belt for this? Talking about 150-200kg
150kg is a beginner weight.. No belt needed. Fir train your muscles, than you can think about a belt. 💪
@@mrx8070 this comment is 1 yr old lol, bought a belt used it twice and never used it since doing 230kg now
@@TextuRePro good job ;-)
How much weight should you use?
Use enough weight that it challenges you : )
I mean for explosive power. I can make out at 500lbs which is half way descent. So sprint with 250?
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you for watching! :-)
Strongman exercises are great but make sure to eat enough minimum 2000 calories for women and minimum 2500 calories for men
Calorie consumption is going to be very individual specific
I prefer farmers path
Trash your body..... accurate
Should women do the prowler? Will it make u look masculine
Absolutely they should . . . if they want to include it in their programs. Both Coach Tonya and Samantha do the prowler and there i is nothing masculine about either of these ladies. This is a great way to hit MANY muscle groups for strength, toning and fat burning

Critical Bench Compound , need improvement in all those areas
I want to use it to be able to move bigger guys than me
I think this is a great exercise to achieve that goal 💪
