So very interesting! And hopefully, as you share more, you'll clear up some of the misconceptions people have on electric and hybrid vehicles.

Mike I'm sure the advancements in technology today are far outpacing the abilities of many technicians. I see the electric vehicle repair industry transforming into a specialized trade . It's just not worth the cost of training employees today on electric vehicles or the tools required for the average small independant shop unless they want to specialize in electric. Many small shops today struggle with advanced vehicle diagnostic thus we see mobile specialists that have the knowledge and abilities so many techs just don't have . It's a business decision to train for the repairs a shop will do compared to the cost of training for shop repairs they may do so most shops will stick to what pays the bills untill electric vehicles represent a profitable option to repair. Great idea to gain some knowledge Mike 👍

Thanks Steve. Yes I knew equipment to work on Hybrid vehicles was expensive but with this class I am seeing how expensive and the amount of equipment that is needed would be very cost restrictive for many. Oh yes and the knowledge needed to actually work on one of these. You need to be part computer guru/electronics whiz!

Mike thanks for sharing. How can we fix an EV when we can’t get parts for our vehicles of today. To be honest I probably can’t or ever will be able to afford the safety equipment to work on them. Mike are the EV vehicles going to come out before todays cars to get their electrical chips so they can leave the dealership lots. My neighbor who deals with car restorations has been waiting on a new truck for the last 10 months to deliver his restorations. Mike please post some videos on just the different types of EV vehicles out there. Some are electric and gas some are all electric. You know we will still need gas to run the gas portable generators to charge our vehicles when the charging station lines are a mile long.Lol thank for sharing Mike and hope they solve your issues. I can do all of that! The class was very interesting also because we had an automotive tech from England, one from Bermuda, and one from California. It was interesting talking to the techs from different areas to learn about they have for EV vehicles!

i always thought a electric car would be a fun toy . but never really a dependable means of transportation. only because it is not viable in the area of fuel being electricity. now if you could figure out a way to charge the battery as you drove it it would be great . im sure there is a way to hook up a regen to the battery to do this there would be no need for a charging station and you would never run out of fuel . well unless you let it set for a long time . i dont know enough about the workings of them to say one way or the other . but it would make sense if you had one set of wheels driven by one set of motors and one set of wheels set to regen . and the regen was putting back in more power then you was taking out of the system . or supplying the power you were using and then some . electric cars have been around since the start . the first cars were electric . problem is the batteries have never been good enough to replace gas . how ever elon musk has made great advances to the battery for electric cars and im sure we will see great things from tesla in the future . the man is a goof but he is a smart goof . i have always thought that if the battery was good enough and you had a power delivery system that would replace the power you used the electric car would surpass the gasoline automobile for everyday use . and i think it has or could be done very easy problem has always been big oil . high power corporations that stand in the way of real progress . but any way with that ill say have a great day buddy tell helga i said hi i hope your both doing great .
