This movie opened my eyes about the struggles of immigration, children, and the other struggles in Africa. I think everyone should give this film a watch!
Massar and Adu’s story is real, maybe some are worse than that.I thought I was strong till I watched these movie. These movie teaches us a very valuable lesson in life and that is to be greatful and be appreciative about everything in life regardless of how big or small they are.As long as you have a roof above your head ,clothes to wear, something to eat for dinner, than consider yourself rich.
I felt like Matteo was needed just to show the difference in the lifestyle with between adu & his daughter like you can see the treatment adu gets .... Massar, who has done nothing wrong, is detained on the border and separated from Adú after they secure passage into Melilla as child refugees. Both Sandra and Massar are of the same age and yet their destinies are very different. Adú blinks uncertainly into the sun as he looks at the refugees on the other side of the border which he has safely crossed over, losing both Alika and Massar in the process.
I totally agree. The naritive of Adu would have been enough. Best film of 2020. You describe the emotions you feel watching this film perfectly . I cryed and screamed. I want to adopt now.
I enjoyed this movie greatly. I had to keep stopping the movie because I was so emotionally involved. Moustapha Oumarou played Adù so well. He’s so precious. I wanted to adopt him and give him a loving, caring home. Massar probably couldn’t go to the Children’s Center because he was over 18 and had many prior arrests, fake IDs, fake passports, etc. Honestly, I needed to see a different ending because I want to see Adù and Massar finally win at life. They deserve to be adopted into loving, well to do families. Why would they end the movie in such a way? They shouldn’t have done the audience like that. I needed to see Adû finally happy. Even though I cried while watching this movie and had to keep stopping it and starting it to get through it, I absolutely love it. The acting, the direction, the cinematography were all remarkable. Hopefully they will make a sequel so we can see what happens to Adù.
I guess it has to be like this. So the audience get the truth... the real life... what is probably happening every day... just right NOW... to so many people :-( It's not for entertaining, to make us a good feeling or warm up our hearts at the end..
great review. little Adu is cute and all along i just felt like protecting him. That was a great and emotional perfomance. You just earned yourself another subscriber.
Thanks for your review. This is a powerful movie that brings out a lot of emotions at once. I find, however, that the stories of Matteo and Gonzalo question the ethics of Europeans and how they relate to Africa. Matteo is conflicted and knows what they did was not right. Yet they are pawns in a grander scheme and have no control over what's happening. Gonzalo's role as wildlife protector in the midst of corruption and the power of money over his conservation efforts is also very powerful and makes me think, again, about how effective it is to engage in conservation efforts in this way-- Is "patrolling" (by a European) as effective as engaging with local communities? Would it be better to lift these communities out of poverty so they wouldn't have to kill wildlife for money? Both of these stories, intertwined with Adú and Massar's journey make this movie unique and draws our attention, once again, to the struggles of so many people (like the current crisis in Lesbos) trying to reach Europe, especially unaccompanied minors. We should be more aware of these humanitarian crises and seek to understand what is going on. When we encounter a migrant here in Europe, we should at the very least treat them with compassion. We can't even begin to understand the struggles they've had prior to arriving here.
So First of all, Masser isn’t a minor so he can’t be in the same refugee camp with Adu. Secondly, he has AIDS. When he was sick in the “bush camp” and he opened his abdomen, what I saw looked like Kaposi Sarcoma a presentation in AIDS. His history of abuse and him having to sleep with a truck driver to get money, makes me believe it’s AIDS. With that he can’t be in a regular camp let alone be with the minors. This is my guess
Thought Adu could be sad but this was heartbreakingly sad all I done was cry. Iwanted to "magically" sweep them all up some how save, protect and love them all.We all need to give a thought and do what we can for Refugees and those who are seeking a better life just to work eat and have a roof over their heads. What a cruel world we live in governed by evil choices.Great acting from a adorable very promising 6year old.
The movie is a contrast between real life struggles (Adú) and 1st world self induced made up problems (daughter and Gonzalo). Then we have Matteo who is somewhat in the middle but at the end of the day goes back to his nice comfortable bed, bars and restaurants and all the other things he has to his disposal for the simple fact of where he (Matteo) was born. I think the irony and possibly unintentionally placed movie line was where Matteo’s friend tells him outside the bar “the fence doesn’t represent we don’t want you here, it means fix your own problems”. Adu was around 6 and was simply a child who did not create any problems for whatever country he was born in, he was simply born there.
They should produce a part two of the movie where Mateo meets Sandra and they get married, look for Adu and adopt him. Otherwise it ended not good for the viewers🙄
I feel sorry for those don't know about this youtube channel ( Movies And Munchie ). only 8.3k fortunate movie fans. i suggest everybody to share this with their friends and family and trust me they will thank you more than once at least.
Best realistic movie ever hope there will be a part 2. Totally agree with you there was no need to feature gonzalo the movie should have focus more on Adu's struggle and less on gonzalo arrogance and ego.
This movie means so emotional , I was so focused , i didn’t want see any other characters I wanted to know what next with Adu, did you all watch STATELESS , it’s a bit similar
Loved this review. I love how you explain what’s happening in the film without giving too much away. This movie was soooo powerful and amazingly executed 🔥
This movie was a real tear jerker 😭 I was immediately drawn in by Adu. I just had to know what was gonna become of him. I liked all the characters in this movie......they all had their own things they were dealing with, but Adu's story blew my mind. 🤯 Chris there's a movie on Netflix called Oloture .... Check that one out and give us a review 👈🙌💯😘
Thanks for the review, I just added it to my watch list. I was wondering, all the reviews that you say on camera is by heart or do you prepare a script first?
I write out my thoughts first and keep my notes in front of me to make sure I hit parts that I want to make sure I address...otherwise I end up forgetting because my brain is a bit ADHD, but there's also a lot that I don't write out...depends on how my thoughts are flowing. The hardest part for me is when I want to say something a specific way, but my brain and mouth aren't connecting and I end up repeating it 20 times until I've said it the way I wanted to...my poor family has to listen to that madman-repetition LOL!
I just watched the movie and rushed to find someone on RUclips to help me understand the ending. Why was Massar violently pulled out of the car and taken away from Edu's side?
@@MoviesAndMunchies Thank you for your input, sir. This final scene is extremely shocking, to say the least; everyone was treating both children so warmly and wholeheartedly... Why treat Massar so rashly and for no apparent reason.
@@MoviesAndMunchiesYeah, when individuals enter some countries illegally they sometimes get split into adults / kids and females/males. There are stories of kids losing contact with their parents because of this.
Well the reviewer here is of the opinion that Adu's storyline would have been enough and that the other two "side stories" weren't really necessary. I think he's got some trouble with European story-telling though. Note the irony in the stories, the European guy avoiding getting into Europe because of European law persecuting him (tax evasion/fraud) and Adu, the main storyline's character, desperately trying to do exactly the contrary: wanting to get into Europe because of the protection under European law. The same law the other guy is fleeing from. So while some want to be stuck in Africa, others are desperately trying to get out. That's why it's important to see beyond the story. This movie is full of these hidden messages. Now let's go back to big Hollywood, shall we.
Because of Dark season 3 my mind is like 'take a rest for someday or watch Tom and Jerry,..I was always asking myself like Who was he/she or how she can't speak now and that mute girl talks..oh boy, always how,when,what..This is the first series where I like the background music and all, I even watched opening credit song without skipping as it was an English song pretending I understood all. Gonna put this movie on list, THANKYOU. Watched THE BOYS AGAIN yesterday. PLEASE YOUR REVIEW ON THIS WOULD BE AWESOME.

Massar deserved so much more and so did Adú 😢i wish the movie had focused entirely on their story instead of switching between Sandra’s and Mateos too
My thoughts too

Amazing film! MUST WATCH! Adu is adorable!
So precious!!!
Can someone please explain what happened to Massar at the end? Why did they take him away from Adu? I'm confused on the ending...
Same reason why I came here 😅
Massar, who has done nothing wrong, is detained on the border and separated from Adú after they secure passage into Melilla as child refugees. Both Sandra and Massar are of the same age and yet their destinies are very different. Adú blinks uncertainly into the sun as he looks at the refugees on the other side of the border which he has safely crossed over, losing both Alika and Massar in the process.
I want to know why too??? He was such a big brother like and just wanted to protect adu. I cried when he was pulled away.
Looking all over the internet cant find why 😂😂

I'm so sad of what happened to massar but he wouldn't really have a good outcome anyways because all his symptoms here symptoms of AIDS or HIV.
They should produce a part two of the movie where Mateo meets Sandra and they get married, look for Adu and adopt him. Otherwise it ended not good for the viewers🙄
