I really appreciate this video. I searched for a long time trying to find how to transfer files from my I-pad to my Garmin and was delighted to finally come across your video. THANK YOU!

I use Rever, too, and often put the routes into the Garmin. But I’ve used my laptop and Basecamp just as you suggested. It’s a pain. I can’t wait to try using the iPad. Will give it a try tomorrow! Thanks for the tips!

I’m still waiting for my Apple dongle to arrive. In the meantime I am trying to build some test routes using the Rever website on my iPad. Trouble is, I don’t get the proper full screen version in my view on the iPad. Things are a bit squished and some buttons or graphics are cut off. Any idea how to get the full screen showing on my iPad like you have?

@Dave Kendall - I wanted to Thank You for this video. It worked with only some minor modifications that I assume are due to software updates. I did notice that I lost some of the customized waypoints from the Track I created in Rever were lost when I converted it to a Trip in the Nav VI. Have you found any workaround, other than BaseCamp, to solve for this?

I tried this several times and it worked okay for each of me tests, but for more complicated rides I still use basecamp....Dave

Dave, I am working through the process you describe here and it seems to work well. I have a few questions, though, if your patient enough. I’m a noob here, I have never ridden a “track” using my Garmin Nav V, only routes.
    1. Is the track line always such a thin line? It’s really, really hard to see sometimes. I have experimented with color, etc. Any way to make it thicker?
    2. It seemed that every track I chose to “show on map” did so, all at once. So when I had various test tracks they overlapped each other and was it very confusing. How do you choose which track to follow? There is no “Start” or any way to choose an individual track that I can see, like there is with a route.
    3. Do you actually follow the track line or do you always convert to route and choose that?
    4. You’ve done BDR’s. Did you use their track just as a track? Or convert to route?
If I am annoying you just say so and I will quit bugging you and I won’t be offended. I just thought since you were doing what seemed to be exactly what I am trying to do that you may have easy answers. Thanks in advance.

Seriously. I feel bad that there has not been a reply. An attempt, any attempt would have sufficed. Don’t blame yourself @BradB we will find our way through this together. @DaveKendall let’s get on with it shall we? The suspense is killing us. …Also, I too am awaiting the answer. Cheers!

Can skip the dongle and move the file from the iPad to the garmin by using the Garmin Drive and get the same results?

Good Question....I will give it some thought and try it...Preparing for a Rally so really busy at the moment...Dave

Ok. You seemed to skip over a key piece of the ‘hack’. How to you route plan on an iPad? When, from an App perspective there is no Rever App or Program. How is it that you are able to get a full screen Map Planning on Rever when there is NO FULL SCREEN REVER option available. At least not with the App?! Come on Rever. Please get off the PC / Laptop drip and get with the correct (modern) APIs!!! Seriously, what next and when?

I did this video a long time ago and it wasnt meant to be a routing video, but planning from the APP version is tough, I thought I said you need to use the full version, going to the web site to plan. Once planned it can be transferred to a device from the app version of REVER....Dave
