Just earlier today I made my new position official on LinkedIn, and I can confirm that this 4 minute video is a great summary of how to get a cyber job in 2024. Networking is a must for landing interviews, and it has the side benefit of finding like minded people to do CTFs with as well!
Wonderful! Thank you so much for your thoughtful comment!
Short, informative, and (as far as I can tell) accurate. Subscription earned.
Thank you!
This video was AMAZING jennifer ! I am a senior computer science student with a minor in cybersecurity at my local university. I also am getting sponsored by my school to obtain both the ISC2 certified in cybersecurity and the security plus certifications ! I am excited to start my journey hopefully through an internship and/or after undergrad.
Wonderful! It sounds like you are on your way to a really amazing career path! Excited for you and know you'll reach your goals. Keep it up and thanks so much for your positive feedback and thoughtful comment!
Short, sweet and to the point!!! Much appreciated!!!
Thanks for the positive comment!
Short and sweet. Thank you Jennifer.
Glad you enjoyed the content! Thank you for your positive comment :))
The key points in this video is the same understanding I've gotten after 4 months of scouring the internet for how to jump into security. Short, concise and to the point. Plus didn't make this a 15 minute video for no reason 👍
Thank you for your thoughtful comment! I typically will pass over anything that is over 10 minuets myself so short and to the point is my jam!
Let's go AZ-900. Come check out my free AZ-900 training.
!Nice!
This is a sign! For me to start AZ-900
What's the link to your free AZ-900 training?

Great information. Straight to the point.
Thanks for the positive comment! Glad the quick and short is working out for you :)
thank you this was a great roadmap for beginners like me and the video was very informational short to the point with no nonsense.
Glad you liked it! I hope it can serve as helpful to you in your cybersecurity journey :))
I subbed. Hope your channel grows in the cyber space :)
Thank you so much! I appreciate the support and positive comment :)
You are doing a really great job helping us have a guided roadmap which we can modify and use to find our own track to our success! I am still at a very young age i would say but i am happy that i want to explore more on this topic and make a career in it! Thankyou once again for your great work and i pray you keep it up!
Thank you for your positive feedback it's much appreciated! Keep learning and stay curious.
very informative thanks
You're welcome! Thank you for your comment.
This is a great roadmap for beginners as myself. 🧐 now I have to think about a cloud cert ☁️. Always amazing friend!
Thank you so much! Id do AZ900 I think a lot of people are going Microsoft shop.
@@AltFunktion that's what I was thinking, I dont know if I should let my adhd take a rest from all this sec+ info… or jump right into AZ900 🧐
@@AltFunktion agreed. Az900 seems to be the easiest to pick up for anyone with MS familiarity. But any of them are great
I see that youre providing quality content, keep up the good work, im currently studying on my BSCSIA on WGU, and will plan on getting most certs, what your thoughts on a cloud security engineer role?
Also love the tatts, i have one in paticular on the side of the neck, and i hope it doesnt jeprodize any opportunities!
Cloud is a great area to specialize. So many companies are opting for digital infrastructure and I can't see that changing anytime soon if ever. I would not worry so much about the tattoo on your neck if you find it to be a road blocker there are ways to cover it. I do find though many of the young and forward thinking companies do not mind body modifications.
Hottest cyber security specialist EVER!
EVER?! Holy crap alert the media 😂 Thank you appreciate the compliment
Awesome video, very helpful! 🍻🤩
Idea for future videos how to demonstrate your knowledge on the resume/cv with projects & and where and how to show them? (for blue team and/or red team)
Thanks so much for the positive comment and great idea! I do think this is a big challenge. When your capability is hands on keyboard knowledge how can we SHOW employers what we can do? Ill have to think about this one! great idea.
I have experience in Soc L1, but I want to go in pentest or net sec > cloud sec. Shall I go for comptia sec + or first I should go for net +??
I would say both are great but with some experience Net+ would be my recommendation. If you have the ability to get both that would be great as well. If you want to get into a specific area though I'd look at specialty certifications in those areas. Best of luck!
US Army (Military Police) .... Impressive Profile !
Thank you! That was back in my cool days. :) Appreciate the positive comment.
Hi ! Thank you for your video. I am currently a fullstack (java spring + angular) developer with 3 years of experience with a bit of devops and was wondering if you could give me tips on how to start my journey into cybersecurity like : Should I invest into platforms like INE, infosec, cybrary ? or are they a waste of money ?
This is a really interesting question and I hate to say it but my answer would be "it depends". Everyone learns a little bit differently and I find personally I do better with certificates and hands on platforms like Let's Defend. If I was in y our shoes with a good base of technical background already, I would research the different areas of Cybersecurity and see if any specific tracks would be of benefit and look at learning resources from there. Good use case is some platforms have amazing pen testing exams but not so great in other areas.
I am a cybersecure student. I have Economics as my minor, I am trying to focus on coding and computer programming right now. What do you think about getting into coding for cybersecure.
I think if coding is what you want to do there will be many applications and would not focus solely on cybersecurity. If you plan to work in architecture coding could be great if you plan on getting into say policy, probably won't ever use coding. I would do a little more research to your interests and map potential cybersecurity roles from there.
@@AltFunktion Ok. Thanks
Hi im 36 , im studying for A+, I want to get Sec+ after I want a job what advice can u give? I live in nyc I have no experience I want a job this year in IT entry level
I would go for the Sec+ over the A+ for a couple of reasons. A+ is great and will teach hardware and computer concepts but is not terribly cybersecurity specific and it is 2 exams to get certified not just one. Then I would recommend Network + if after that I would recommend a basic cloud certification instead of A+. I'll say the goal of coming from no background and jumping into IT with only a year will be tight. Focus heavily on networking with other professionals and continuing your education.
Beb, make videos hacked the Scada system. Thanks love u beb😊
SCADA would be a whole adventure!
