We can't wait to get going on our travels! Taipei is a great place, that really ticks a lot of boxes: walkable, great transit system, nature nearby, great food. And if Taipei City is too expensive, the outlying areas are decently cheap - we are looking at Danshui.
Yeah so many excellent options in Taiwan! Yes there's a lot of adjustment to be made as well coming from North America, but as we both know it is worthwhile! Btw our Mexico dates keep getting tweaked so we might cross paths in CDMX.
Considering going back to TW myself. I can deal with the air pollution and EMFs in the cities by moving to towns and go to the mountains. There is a place with cold and hot nature spring that is 1000m, away from all the pollution. Yes I'm more on the extreme when it comes to health. Only concern right now is China's military but I guess there is no perfect place right now anywhere..
You made the right choice. As cool as it would be to live in China, there are many US prisoners that regretted going there, especially with how aggressive the government is getting now. Keep your family safe. 👍
