This is cool! First time I ever saw this was the Bosso brothers at Zone comp just over 10yrs ago. I may try it on the sim, see what it’s like. I tried the beep on the V-Control found it lagged behind the stick movement
Yeah, I don't understand how anyone gets on with the beep. I wouldn't recommend sprung throttle unless there were specific things in your flying you wanted to address. In general it will make things harder until you get used to it.
I should have a video up on sprung throttles next week. I could do one on autorotations, but there are a few good ones out there already. Have you seen Curtis Youngblood's auto demo vid?
I'm not a huge fan of the stick having a return like this (although it's awesome for knowing where center stick is like you show) as it feels a bit weird to be while flying. I wish I could have an audible beep at center stick on my Mikado radio that ONLY did it in autorotation mode and not in all flight modes (which obviously gets annoying while 3D flying).
It's defo not for everyone. I tried it 6 years ago, and I hated it. Took it off within a day or 2. Then I tried it again a year ago, and I was looking for different things in my flying. Now it feels weird and indistinct if I fly without it. That actually a pretty good idea with the beep being bank dependant. Have you recommended it to them?
I have 4 helicopters on VBCT/Neo and 3 helicopters on Jeti/Spirit. The Jeti radio allows me to have center beep on the collective stick ONLY when doing autorotations. I hope the new Spirit WAVE radio has a similar feature.
Sort of, depending on the Tx. Some have it built in so it supports mode 1 and 2, but with the VControl I had the get the extra spring and thingy from Mikado.
The follow up video for this containing all the info about centre sprung throttles is here:

Id like to hear more about how this works, id love a proper video on how to do an auto, and overspeed.

Fascinating! I feel like I add a fair amount of negaite collective while autoing, maybe I don't?
Maybe too much negative. How fast is it coming down?
OMG, I need to do this.
😀
On my Tx, i setup Beep on center for pitch.
I tried that for a bit but I struggled to hear it, or find dead centre. Do you like it?
I’d like to do that as well but only for autorotation bank. Would get super annoying in flight modes IMO.

@@rchelicopter I’ve not made the suggestion. I “think” Futaba users have this option.

I made a little scratch at the glieing surface of my vbc at zero degrees... You feel it, but it's not annoying.
@@freehamster Droid says he tried this as well, but went a bit deeper, and it became irritating. Does it help?
Have you ever been hit by a RC helicopter, even a small one, like
No, I don't think so. I've had occasions where it's defo got too close, and I've had to readjust my idea of what a safe distance is :D
@@rchelicopter good good for you~
Interesting you tried that ! How long have you been running that way....?
About a year now. It's not for everyone, but at this point in my flying I find the benefits outweigh the negatives.
Hells fire Richard ! - sprung loaded left stick - that a mod?
