Taken before PSR, that tail wagging the dog inside the NS corporate boardroom, in a wild chase to squeeze profits out of bone so hedge fund profiteers can remain satisfied. This video is filled with PRR symbolism on 2 fronts, the first being the Heritage Unit, the second being the old guard signal lights that served PRR, PC, Conrail and NS so well, all the way up until their end. And with the coming of PTC and PSR, thousands of dedicated train crews and support personnel on this railroad were pink slipped, giving way to double sized trains supported by an unmanned DPU and a single crew, running on engines being run into the ground. Railroading today is just not the same and as not as much fun to follow as it was only say, 5 years ago.
