Nice review. I am a happy owner of one. I want to point out to you where the microphones are. If you look closely at the lens, you will see notches, two on one side and one on the other. Those are the microphones.
how does it work with loading a video on to RUclips from pc to where you don't get side by side bubbles but one video that you can move around the screen to view?
looked at some of the sample pics of theta s, and even though it supports 1080 only its picture quality is better than lg that supports 2k. What are your thoughts on this?
I am now reviewing the Samsung Gear 360. I have not played with the THETA, but it's much more expensive than the LG which would put to reason that it would be better.
I bought a unit few weeks ago. When looking at videos and photos on the small screen of the phone, it seems rather good quality. Upload to PC and view from there. The photos are incredibly noisy when indoors, even with the lowest ISO setting of ISO 50. And far objects are quite blur. I think mainly because of the large F1.8 aperture unable to focus across different long focal lengths. And the stitching line leaves so much to be desired, totally bad stitching algorithm. The Ricoh Theta S, which has a less capable sensor on paper, produces sharper images. I don't know if I regret buying this, although it's probably the cheapest, but the quality of the photos feels lacking. I have seen samples from the Samsung Gear 360, that's a world of a difference. Should have waited for the Samsung
Stephen Abraham it's supposed to have problems when bringing the pictures or videos directly from the device to the pc, if you upload them first to somewhere like RUclips it's supposed to be substantially better.
Anyone knows how to share the photo (other than Facebook). I tried to send the picture by Whatsapp but the receiver could not open it with the 360 format properly. Any IOS Apps to open the picture? Thanks.

Do you still use this thing? Can you switch between 180 and 360 using the power button? This is fucking anoying an I don't get how you switch between this without the app. since I don't use wifi outside...🤔🤓

brianegan3 That was a very old post.. :-).. and after 4 firmware updates, the quality is much better now..

I think you can upload the file to RUclips and it will, after a few hours format it for 360 degree viewing. That's what the DETU does.
