I don't think it would be easy.
tim gep Cotto has a junior welterweight body, is 3 and a half inches shorter, has lesser reach (also by around 3 inches). Now Golovkin is 5 ft 10 and a half, generally weighing more than 160 on fightnight, with masterful ability to cut the ring off and walk through any kind of punches whilst throwing heavyweight like punches. I don't think Cotto is going to be a big problem for him. They have weight classes for a reason. Cotto is not a natural Middleweight, let's not lie to ourselves, he's just not, he only holds a title at Middleweight because he won against a washed up Martinez. Don't get me wrong i like Cotto very much, but I think he'd be in over his head taking this fight, it certainly is more dangerous for him than it is for Golovkin, too much at stake here also.
Jimmynable Cotto could give Canelo problems, I find the latter a bit too overrated. People say GGG is overrated because they did not see him against the elite of boxing, but I personally believe that despite all of his great qualities (ring generalship, pressure, self-composure) Canelo is not as good as others see him due to a number of reasons: 1st - his feet are planted when he shoots his combinations 2nd - Does not cut the ring off at all (even against not so fast fighters) 3rd - does not hit as hard as everyone seems to believe (more of a thudding power to me), I think at 154 his punch is significant enough, at 160 it's not on par with most punchers, especially not on par with such a devastating boxer-puncher as GGG is.
I look at things and give my own evaluation and assessment. GGG is exceptional, his movement is smart and unique, his pressure is relentless, I don't necessarily have to see him against an elite to prove me that he is good. Canelo on the other hand has already shown that he is not good against technicians (MW & Lara) who made him look slow and mid-class.
I believe the following will take place (in case those match-ups are even made):
1. Cotto will expose Canelo for the flat-footed slow bear that he is
2. Cotto then goes on to fight GGG and gets annihilated by him in there due to significant discrepancies in size and punching power
3. Mayweather keeps ducking anyone who poses even a tiniest bit of risk upon his "untouched" ass

Chavez wasn’t really a power a puncher, he was just extremely accurate and knew where to hit to wear you out and eventually knock you out. Someone like George foreman has power but Mike Tyson has accuracy, speed and som power. Tyson’s main thing was accuracy and speed. Thier different kinds of knockout punchers.
GGG : Mexican style or not, he is an amazing person! He knocked out so many champions or stopped them, even TOP challengers! GGG hits like dynamite or like a heavyweight !! Every Champ has lost: Ali, Frazier , Leonard , Sugar Ray, Haggler, Hearnes, and many more . GGG record is 300 fights total between pro and non pro. WOW! this Russian like guy is ENDLESS power and takes any punch landed upon him.Boxer, fighter? He is a powerhouse killer!! He is never, never boring! God gave him a special gift in his division!! Lots of people hating on Golovkin here... The man fights hard, comes to put on a show and loves to give us KO's. Not sure you can ask for more. People talk about Ward... Why? He still cannot fight due to promotional issues. It is easy to call out the boogie man when your hiding behind red tape. People give Mayweather a pass against Golovkin for being too small... But that fight has been asked for at 154 where yes... Floyd has had up to two belts. So is Floyd too small to be a legit Jr. Middle champ? Then why is he there? And why do fans give him a pass? Golovkin says he can make 154... Sounds like a fight... One I would like to see happen before Golovkin takes a smart well planned move to 168, so his body can put on the weight naturally. I also believe that Golovkin should unify at 160 before heading north... That is his natural weight and he should clean it out before heading up. Maybe Ward should ask for the fight at 160... I mean he is supposed to be the #2 P4P should not be a problem... But, NO! Glolovkin's critics only want to see him move up (at disadvantage)... I have never seen a Ward fan suggest he go down to meet Glolovkin... On that note, why is Ward not calling out Kovalev on the same merit you criticize Golovkin for? Anyway after the Geale fight, I give even odds on Glolovkin vs Ward... The Geale fight proved you can catch him flush and hard and he can still put you down. Others have outboxed him at times... Did not work... Stevens hits like a light heavy (he was for a bit if I remember right) and he caught Glolovkin flush... Did not work... Proksa tried to bang... Ishida and Geale tried to move... Adam tried to use his chin... Nothing has worked so far. Oh yeah... Chavez Jr... All you need to know about him is to watch the video of him sparring with GGG... Yeah, the contract extension was the LEAST of that spoiled brats worries....

The true middleweight champion of the world 160 lbs is GGG not COTTO, there is no one at 160 lbs that can be at him, he has destroying punching power that many say he hits like a heavyweight, ANYBODY that dares to fight him gets knocked down or knocked out. JC CHAVEZ Jr wants no part of him, COTTO probably won't fight him he knows is a very dangerous fight for him,Canelo may go up to 160 lbs to fight him but De la Hoya won't let him,the only one is Andre Ward at 168 lbs that means GGG needs to go up and they need to pay him a lot more unless Ward goes down to 160 but thats probably not possible GGG DOES NOT NEED WARD but Ward that's always on the shelf needs him a lot more besides his style is not exciting and doesn't sell tickets GGG is a VERY exciting fighter and a lot of fans will pay to see his next knockout.

This documentary implies that Andre Ward is ducking Gennady Golovkin, which just isn't true, Andre Ward has called him out numerous times, whereas Gennady isn't interested in that bout.
Not meant to be the implication...instead, meant to highlight that GGG is looking to fight 4x a year (even next year per our interview w/Tom Loeffler here ruclips.net/video/974AEDlN2zA/видео.html) and Ward has not been in the ring in 2014.

doug daughtry Doug, appreciate your viewing and the comments all across this board, but this is not about Floyd, this is about Gennady, we'd love to have access to Floyd to do a piece on what has been an unquestioned first ballot Hall of Fame career; instead, our press credentials were denied for his last fight. Hagler fought 5 times in '79, 4 in '80, 3 in '81, 2 in '82, 3 in '83, at the end of his career it was less frequent, but he took on the best of his day in his 1 or 2 fights a year (Hearns, Mugabi, Sugar Ray).
So when's Ward's next fight?

You are the casual fan because people did hate on him and accuse of him of juicing even though he never did and proves it because he is natural and always passes test with flying colors unlike when the only one who got caught was canelo and Billy joe so no saying “ everyone hating on him” isn’t a casual boxing fan that is such a one sided and generalized comment which you are saying it as a statement and fact based when you are just giving a completely bias opinion based of you not knowing boxing.

GGG has been knocked down in sparring once. I forgot the name of his sparring partner but ESNews has a video where his sparring partner says it, he seemed honest too.
ward fights once every 2 years, he's not an active boxer. GGG will KO ward because GGG's a much better boxer with better technique. ward is just too boring, running away around the ring, clinching and showing nothing so nothing interesting. GGG in turn KO's every single opponent in a fashionable way and much more spectaculous ...
Ok so I'm not making this comment to "hate" on GGG, there are people who replied to my comment that clearly do not know this.
GGG has stated on numerous occasions what he would be willing to fight anyone from 154 - 168. So Andre Ward (p4p #2) called home out saying, "Let's make the fight". GGG didn't respond initially. Then several reports asked GGG and his trainer about a fight with Andre War, and they replied that they are not ready for him.
Ward then came back out and said that if your not willing to face me than keep my "name" and division out of your mouth which is why you hear GGG saying that he wants to fight the best in his division (160).
Now for Chavez Jr, an agreement was reached for those two to fight back in May. However, Bob Arum (Chavez's promoter) wanted to extend Chavez's contract in order for him to get a GGG fight. Chavez does not want a contact extension, he only wanted the one fight--which is why he walked away from the negation table.
So to recapitulate in my comment that I posted previously, neither Ward nor Chavez "DUCKED" GGG, which is what this video made it seem like. In fact, if you watch any interview now when a reporter ask who they want to fight, GGG among the names of opponents they call out.
All of this info can be found and verified on various reputable boxing websites if you don't believe me.

Recently Abel and Gennady said they'd make the fight - no problem. Aaaand guess what the answer was? That's right, Virgil said: "we don't need this for another 1.5 years". The excuse from Team Ward is as follows: "there's a lot of building up the hype that needs to be done and hence we need 1,5 years"
But I'll tell you why GGG team don't want Ward, there is only ONE reason - Ward is no draw, he is a lesser draw than any of GGG's potential opponents. Why fight a guy 1 division above (who is not a good draw) having not cleared out your own division first and having not done any test fights at 168? Why? You know nothing about boxing, my man. GGG said he'd fight Floyd rightaway with no build-up. Ok, who doesn't? Only punks and lazies from 147-154-160 are not calling out Floyd, cause Floyd is a fucking cash cow, it is different, don't make it look like GGG is ducking Ward who is big but is willing to take on small Floyd, that is not the case here, money is.
To your point about Arum, Arum is Julio's boss, not Gennady's boss. So whatever the BS between Arum and Chavez Jr GGG is not the guy to blame here clearly.
The video did not seem like Ward or Chavez are ducking, it merely said that they (Ward, Mayweather, Chavez Jr) hardly ever fight these days all for their own reasons and that's all. Found it, the guy that supposedly knocked down Gennady in sparring is Tyrell Hendrix.
Yeah I saw an interview of a fighter (I'm assuming the one you named) in which he was talking about how incredible GGG power is and he said he knocked GGG down in sparring and then GGG punished him for the rest of the sparring session lol but he was talking about how they claim GGG has never been knocked down but that he had knocked him down. That may be true but the thing is that no one says "GGG has never been knocked down in the Pro's, Amateurs OR in sparring"....they are only saying that GGG has never been knocked down in a professional or amateur fight. Nothing to do with sparring in fact GGG may have been knocked down more than once in sparring throughout the years. It's just never happened in an actual fight.

Leon Hendrix under the Ali Act a USA promoter can only sign a fighter for 5 years, what many promoters including Arum does is after 3 years they won't give fighters big fights unless they sign an extension to hit that max, so basically Chavez Jr would have to sign till 2019 to get the fight.

Cotto would make him known to an extent. I'm a casual fan and I've heard about Cotto many years ago. Plus, a lot of Mexicans know who Cotto is, which will also help GGG to get his name out there.

It's the style that differentiates GGG from an awkward southpaw boxer like Trout. GGG gets KOs and gets hit Trout doesn't punch hard and boxes. GGG's style can make him popular and once he gets a known opponent the skys the limit. GGG is already building quite some fanfare and getting big ratings he just needs a good dance partner to make it to PPV.

They use a T/E type test which is known to have loopholes. Anyway as you said floyd was not caught and there isn't really any evidence to link apart from the fact that he took a 750ml IV which made it very suspicious especially that he only disclosed 2 weeks after the fight :).
